ISRAEL MAY ATTACK IRAN BY SPRING

Apologies for no post yesterday due to computer glitches.

As Iran continues its relentless quest for nuclear weapons, Israel is saying that hardened Iranian nuke sites are still vulnerable, fueling remarks by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to the effect he believes such a strike may take place by spring.

COMMENTS:
It is clear that Obama will not take military action to resolve the issue.  Israel simply must protect itself.  I think Panetta is correct but, when the attack happens, we have to ask how Syria, China and Russia will react.  They will certainly not be worried about what the U.S. might do if they get involved.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Should Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan recuse herself from the Health Care case?  (Loni ~ Santa Fe, NM)
A. Not unless Clarence Thomas also recuses himself.  Obviously, neither of the two intends to do so and there is nothing in the law of this country that requires either to do so.  But, I wouldn’t worry about it.  I think that this Court has the ability to reach the proper decision and that they are NOT in Obama’s pocket by any means.

Q. I heard that Planned Parenthood is losing some funding.  What’s that story?  (Carla ~ Burlingame, CA)
A. The world's leading breast cancer charity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, recently decided to cut their funding. Planned Parenthood has been under fire from conservative and religious segments because it funds abortions with taxpayer money.  The Democrats have started an all-out campaign to force the company to renew its funding or face the consequences and the company says it will not bow to political pressure.

Q. Well, it now appears that Romney is the anointed one.  Who do you think he will choose as his Vice Presidential candidate?  (Morgan ~ Cottonwood, CA)
A. I am still hopeful that Mitt will not end up with the nomination.  But, if he does, I don't think he will partner up with Rush Limbaugh.

TODAY’S QUOTE:
“The Supreme Court, of course, has the responsibility of ensuring that our government never oversteps its proper bounds or violates the rights of individuals. But the Court must also recognize the limits on itself and respect the choices made by the American people.” ~ Elena Kagan
