A.I.G. BACK IN THE NEWS

In what could turn into a major political scandal involving Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, the head of the House of Representatives Oversight Committee, Rep. Edolphus Towns of New York, issued a subpoena for fuller disclosure into whether the New York Federal Reserve improperly urged AIG to limit discussions of payments to banks. Geithner was in charge of the N.Y. Federal Reserve at the time.

COMMENTS:
There’s much, much more brewing in the pot about Geithner, AIG and payments AIG received from the Feds after Geithner took over as Secretary of the Treasury. Geithner may refuse to testify, because he’s busily working away on his income tax return.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why did the Republicans fall all over themselves about Senator Reid’s “racial” remarks? (Kit ~ Silver Springs, MD)
A. Reid is the epitome of the word “politician” and, being politicians themselves, they are jealous. A politician, by the way, is defined as a person who will double-cross that bridge when they come to it.

Q. I heard on TV yesterday that they have been trying to pass a government-run health care system since the days of Teddy Roosevelt. If that’s true and they haven’t been able to do it, and 55% of Americans are still solidly against government-run health care, why do they keep trying to cram it through? (Cyrus ~ Atlanta, GA)
A. Because “they” feel they are superior beings; power makes them all-knowing, all-seeing, almighty potentates. They think their poop doesn’t stink, but you can smell the stench of Congress all of the way to Hawaii; it makes a sewer plant smell like a rose garden.

Q. The gay movement has tried again, again and again to force Californians to allow same-sex marriages. They’ve been overwhelmingly voted down, again and again. Now, they’re turning to violence in the streets in front of the Court House. Why do we allow them to continue like this? (Ellen ~ Auburn, CA)
A. For the last couple of decades, the majority in this country has allowed the minority to push its agendas, whatever they are, and to rule the day. Now, the majority has had its fill and it is firmly pushing back. Gays can’t come to grips with the fact that they have two choices: quit bellyaching, or move to a jurisdiction where their views are in the majority. That’s what makes America great; they have the freedom to make that move, whereas they’d be tossed in prison or have their heads cut off in other countries.
