ROMNEY SURGING?

Romney handily won Arizona and squeaked out a win in Michigan last night to give him some forward momentum in the Republican process.

COMMENTS:
I think that the only reason Romney won Michigan was the fact that he far outspent Santorum in advertising.  Still, I’m surprised and totally disappointed that Santorum lost.  I’m afraid to say it, but if Romney wins Ohio, I think it’s all over.  To me, this will be much akin to where we stood when the dust settled on Obama vs. McCain in 2008.  Frankly, I don’t like this revolting development at all.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Americans are being attacked in Afghanistan, Egypt and Syria.  Now, American tourists were attacked and robbed on a cruise ship near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  This has never happened in such numbers before.  What is going on?  (Yancey ~ Flagstaff, AZ)
A. We always dealt from a position of strength in the past.  This President has displayed exactly the opposite and we are seen as weak.  In fact, we are sitting ducks for this kind of activity.  I do not believe any American should be traveling out of the country to anywhere right now, particularly Mexico and the Middle East.

Q. So, the Dow Jones is up to 13,000 and everything looks really rosy.  What do you say about Obama now?  (Clem ~ Salt Lake City, UT)
A. This is March.  Let’s see where we are in September.  I don’t think Geithner can keep propping up the market that long.

Q. Eric Holder came out and said he would use the full force of the Attorney General’s Office to defend Obama’s controversial contraception mandate.  How can they spend government money defending what American does not want?  (April ~ Atascadero, CA)
A. This is another “up yours” by Obama and his gangster Marxist regime.  Under his rules, all employers must provide female contraception as part of their health care plans, with the cost of the contraception coverage to be incurred by the insurer if a given employer -- such as a Catholic-affiliated charity, hospital, or school -- objects on religious grounds. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has rejected the compromise, saying it still forces Catholic institutions to violate their conscience by providing -- even at zero cost -- a benefit to their employees that violates church doctrine.  If he gets reelected, things are going to get much, much worse.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: he should be impeached.  This country has no room for dictators.

U.S. SPENDING MILLIONS TO REFURBISH FOREIGN MOSQUES

The State Department is spending millions of U.S. dollars to refurbish mosques overseas.  Some examples include: the 16th Century Grand Mosque in China; a 19th century minaret in Mauritania; the Golden Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan; and the Gobarau Minaret in Katsina, Nigeria. (Thanks to Newsmax Magazine)

COMMENTS:
In the meanwhile, we have millions of people out of work and a President who doesn’t seem to give a damn.  How do you feel about the Amr Ibn El-Aas Mosque in Cairo, which was built in 642 by a Muslin warrior who conquered Egypt’s ancient Christians in a crusade?  This is just another example of the Administration’s preference for Muslims.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. It’s terrible about that shooting in Ohio, but I think it just gives fuel to the fire from those who want to ban guns in this country.  What do you say?  (Corrine ~ Vancouver, WA)
A. I don’t agree.  Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.  People were killing people long before guns were invented.  Let’s deal with the problems in our society which cause killings instead of attacking a symptom.

Q. Will Romney ever win over the conservatives in the Republican Party?  (June ~ Redding, CA)
A. He’s not even trying and that, June, underscores what I have been saying all along: he is not a conservative himself, despite what he says.  So, at the very best, conservatives will vote for him as a vote against Obama and to me, this country has not had a clear cut election in decades where you could vote for the better of two candidates; we’re always stuck with voting against someone.  That’s how we get lousy Presidents. And by the way, Romney has figured he'll get the conservative vote when it gets down to the nitty-gritty anyway, so why should he try and win that vote?

Q. I am outraged.  We have high unemployment among our young people and the State Department is already hiring foreign students for summer jobs.  Where in the Sam Hell are our priorities in this country, anyway?  (Eugene ~ Alturas, CA)
A. Our priorities seem to be in forcing religious organizations to give free contraceptives to their employees and teenagers.  I’m glad you are questioning these things; it shows that you want to find out what our country is doing to itself.  Now, get your friends, relatives and neighbors involved, too.

YET ANOTHER ENERGY SCANDAL

A123 Systems of Michigan has announced it is laying off 125 employees while, at the same time, increasing compensation for its top executives.  The firm recently received $390 million in U.S. Government subsidies. The company had a net loss of $172 million during the first three quarters of 2011.

COMMENTS:
Wow.  It surely gives you a lot of trust in our government, doesn’t it?  They tax us and spend our money on these projects?  No wonder we’re broke.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why are we pulling out of Afghanistan? That was always the breeding ground for Al Qaeda and terrorist activities. Won’t our absence rekindle those activities?  (Chauncey ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. In all probability, you are correct.  Obama promised his far-left-wing constituents that we would get out; now, he has no political choice but to do so before November.  Isn’t this a wonderful world, ruled solely by political considerations?  In this world, nobody needs testicles.  Isn’t that what you want?

Q. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has appealed to all Syrians to abandon President Bashar Assad.  Why didn’t that appeal come from President Obama?  (Gordy ~ Reno, NV)
A. Because, although he feels he’s omnipotent, he also fears that he is not.

Q.  It seems like every week I get two or three requests for me to fill out a survey.  Do these things have any impact?  (Melissa ~ Tulare, CA)
A. Yes.  The online petition movement has come a long way from chain mails that threaten eternal bad luck for failing to forward a message to at least five friends. On line petitions can gather millions of signatures in a very short period of time.  No politician in his right mind is going to ignore such a response.

BIN LADEN COMPOUND BEING DEMOLISHED

The Pakistani compound occupied by terrorist Osama Bin Laden for several years is being demolished.  The demolition is being conducted under tight security, according to informed sources.

COMMENTS:
I’m actually surprised.  I had a feeling that the place would be enshrined.  It could be of great historical interest, somewhat akin to Mt. Vernon or Lincoln’s tomb.  I’m surprised the liberal left isn’t all over this.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I am concerned about the ability of the Republican Party to beat Obama in November. Right now, things are getting better for Obama as a whole and the Republicans are beating each other up.  What do you think?  (Benny ~ Hayfork, CA)
A. I agree with you.  But, it’s not just the candidates.  The party itself is split with conservatives on the one side and “moderates” on the other.  The moderates are the left wing of the Republican Party and they don’t seem to want anything to do with the right wing.  Contrary to what the “moderates” would have you believe, I do not think the party will totally unite behind Romney in order to beat Obama; many will stay home in total disgust with the party.  Still others will have vinegar on their French fries.

Q. I’ve heard a lot of predictions about how high the price of gas will get. What’s your opinion?  (Lars- Truckee, CA)
A. You’ll be angry at me for saying this, but $5.00 is the probability and $7.00 is a possibility.  The natural result is going to be a decline in the economy and higher unemployment which will hurt Obama’s reelection prospects.  On that basis alone, I wouldn’t mind seeing $7.00 a gallon.  Would you make that tradeoff?

Q. Should Obama get into the national oil reserves in order to keep prices down?  (Kevin ~ Redondo Beach, CA)
A. No way.  That reserve is there to keep us with fuel in the event of a worldwide shortage of supply.  If he taps it, it can only be short-term and I don’t think he would consider that until just before the November election.  Even so, it can only reduce the price at the pump by a few cents per gallon and for a limited time.  What he should do, of course, is to approve the Keystone Pipeline, but he has backed himself into a political corner over that issue.  As long as he’s there, maybe he should put on a dunce cap.

CHAVEZ TO GET MORE SURGERY

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is headed to Cuba for more cancer surgery.

COMMENTS:
Well, Hugo, here you were just a few weeks ago claiming that you had been cured.  I think this may be your swan song.  Would you mind naming your successor now; how about Barack Hussein Obama? No?  You don't want him either?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Romney wants to raise the eligibility age for Medicare.  What do you think? (Trudy ~ Honeywell, UT)
A. Medicare is designed to assist the elderly who have declining or fixed incomes, with meeting the increasingly high costs of medical care.  I can understand raising the eligibility age for Social Security; people have to work later in life anyway.  But, the eligibility age for Medicare should not be changed because the medical problems will continue to affect the elderly regardless of whether they are working or not.  ObamaCare has raided the Medicare fund and we will soon be faced of the question of not having enough money in that fund to meet rising insurance costs.

Q. Obama has been trying to negotiate an end to the Iranian nuclear crisis through diplomatic channels.  Can he succeed?  (Terry ~ Redding, CA)
A. No.  Tehran is antipathetic toward any kind of concessions and seems bent on proving its willingness to employ hostile measures to defy its critics. The question remains: How far will Tehran go to make its point?

Q. Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s close personal Marxist confidant, now suggests that unemployment is good for the economy because people out of work collect unemployment and go out and spend the money.  What kind of an argument is that?  Is she suggesting the economy would be really great if everyone was unemployed?
A. Yes, that is what she is suggesting.  Unemployment is good.  If you don’t agree, you have to show up in November and vote Obama and his Marxist stooges out.

OBAMA ON GAS PRICES: UP YOURS

President Barack Hussein Obama told Americans that his energy policy is just fine and that he can’t, or won’t, do anything about high gas prices because they are caused by Middle East unrest and higher demand in Brazil, China and India.  He also blamed the Republicans for “licking their chops” over the issue.  "I'll save you the suspense:  Step one is drill, and step two is drill, and then step three is keep drilling," he said. "Well the American people aren't stupid.  They know that's not a plan — especially since we're already drilling.  That's a bumper sticker.  It's not a strategy to solve our energy challenge.  It's a strategy to get politicians through an election."

COMMENTS:
Well, wait a moment.  Brazil is drilling and finding all kinds of oil.  The demand in China and India is not new.  What is new is that Obama turned down the Keystone Pipeline and now Canada is negotiating to sell that oil to China.  What kind of an energy policy is that?  Here we have captured Obama in bald-faced lies to the American public, dead to rights.  If you stop and size him up just over the last two weeks, you can’t help but come to the conclusion that Barack Hussein Obama is indeed a Marxist Muslim.  He certainly is acting like one.  M&M, pure and simple.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Can Romney successfully debate Obama?  (Gwendolyn ~ Cedar City, UT)
A. No.  He’s waffled many times in the Republican debates.  Obama is a skillful liar and spinner.  I don’t think Romney can adequately catch him and properly portray the fibs to the public.

Q. Do gas stations set their prices in collusion with each other?  (Niles ~ Scottsdale, AZ)
A. Company owned stations get told what price to set.  Independent major stations get charged the same per gallon from their distributors who get charged the same from the refineries.  So, the price at the pump will tend to be as low as they can set it and make money, or the same.  If independent non-branded stations buy gas that does not have certain engine cleaning additives, then they can sell for less.

Q. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says that all Catholics secretly want the free contraception that is embroiling the Obama White House.  Where in the hell does she get her information?  (Fess ~ San Martin, CA)
A. The same place she gets her brains, a Cracker Jack Box.  I actually think she’s more of a Marxist Socialist than Obama.  I think even the San Franciscans are getting fed up with her.  In actuality, she is a hateful, spiteful and venomous “person” who had no problem requiring the Air Force to fly her back and forth from home to Washington in a huge jet at our expense and during a time of severe national economic crisis.
