The White House and its liberal allies are floating a trial
balloon about installing Merrick Garland on the Supreme Court without Senate
approval.
COMMENTS:
This could be accomplished in one of two ways: (1) Obama
claims he has the Constitutional right to nominate AND appoint, so he’ll just
go ahead and administer the oath of office; (2) Obama will go ahead and make a
recess appointment during the next Senate recess. In either event, the Republican-controlled
Senate would groan, moan and bellyache to no end, followed by acquiescence as
has been their practice in the past.
