The general rule of thumb is that when you drop out of a
race, those delegates previously committed to you by the various states after
their primaries or caucuses become free agents, able to vote at the convention
for whomever they choose. The various
state Republican parties would have the final say on the matter, and Rubio has
sent letters to all of them where he won delegates insisting that they should
be “locked” into voting for him at the first ballot.
COMMENTS:
It doesn’t seem to matter to Little Marco that the GOP rules
say he must have won at least eight primaries to be able to be nominated and
receive votes at the convention. His
game plan is to prevent his delegates from voting for Trump, thereby helping to
throw the convention into contested status and to deny Trump the nomination. Those nasty members of the Republican
establishments evidently have more tricks up their sleeves than Hillary
Clinton.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand an attorney in D.C. is threatening the presidential candidates? (Corky ~
Fullerton, CA)
A. Montgomery Blair Sibley, who has represented D.C.’s
deceased brothel madam Deborah Palfrey, says he has a list of her former
clients that could have a real bearing on the outcome of the presidential
election. Let’s see now, Ted… who could
he be talking about?
Q. The Library of Congress has caved in to a Dartmouth
College demand on political correctness?
(Sharmane ~ Richmond, CA)
A. Yes. Students
claim the terms “illegal alien” and “illegal immigrant” are
discriminatory; they will now be known
as “non-citizens” and “unauthorized immigrants.” And, I suppose Khalid Sheik Mohammed is not a
“radical Islamic terrorist,” but is really an “unfriendly foreigner?” Those who promote such verbal trickery and
those who cave in to it are devout enemies of the truth.
Q. What do you think Trump’s unscheduled yesterday’s meeting
with the RNC in Washington was about? (Alberto
~ Vacaville, CA)
A. By all accounts, they weren’t there to talk about the price
of chicken in China and the meeting was “contentious.” They reportedly talked about the coming
convention, finances and similar chitchat, but word also leaked out that Trump
may be penalized by losing 50 delegate votes due to breaking his pledge to
support whoever the eventual nominee turns out to be, regardless of the fact
that both other candidates have broken their pledges to support him should he
win. The RNC is playing hardball and
doing everything to thwart voter’s support for Trump.
