The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 2005 case that a Texas Capitol
monument containing the Ten Commandments could stay put, although a lawsuit was
seeking to tear it down on anti-religious grounds. In the face of that ruling, the Oklahoma
Supreme Court has just ruled that a display of the Ten Commandments on a
monument at the State Capitol must be immediately removed. Private funds were used to erect the monument
in 2012. Since then, others have asked for space, including a Nevada Hindu
leader, animal rights advocates, the satirical Church of the Flying Spaghetti
Monster and a group pushing for a Satan statue.
COMMENTS:
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled correctly that the Ten
Commandments were of historical significance to the founding of America. The people of Oklahoma must be damned proud
of their Justices.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Both NBC and Univision cancelled contracts with Donald
Trump over remarks he made about Mexicans.
Isn’t that censorship? (Reynaldo
~ Cottonwood, AZ)
A. That’s the way left-wing liberals do business; if you
don’t conform to their agendas, you get shut up. You have no idea how many comments I receive
from the left-wingers telling me explicitly that I need to shut down my
blogs; it would be just as well that
they don’t read them, but that’s not their objective... they don’t want anybody
else reading them, either. What we
really need to do in this country is to pass a Constitutional Amendment banning
jackasses and moon dogs.
Q. Obama says he’ll “walk away” from the Iranian deal if it
“isn’t right.” Do you really think he
will? (Pia ~ Vacaville, CA)
A. Since this positioning statement comes on the supposed
eve of a deal with Iran, I have to suspect that the Iranians have told Kerry
that we can take our deal and shove it, and Obama is trying to make it look
like HE was the tough guy and that HE called the “deal” off. The problem here is that you and I know, and
the Ayatollah knows, that Obama isn’t going to do anything about it, because he
doesn’t want to tarnish his fabulous Nobel Peace Prize that George Soros bought
for him.
Q. What will happen if Puerto Rico goes bankrupt? (Giles ~ Tooele, UT)
A. They’ll quit paying their bills and then, maybe, they’ll
be able to afford to pay their workers $15 an hour, like Obama wants.
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“What most people don’t understand is that UFO’s are on a
cosmic tourist route. That’s why they’re
always seen in Arizona, Scotland and New Mexico. Another thing to consider is that all of
those destinations are good places to play golf. So, there’s possibly some connection between
aliens and golf.” ~ Alice Cooper
