Justice Antonin Scalia took President Barack Obama to task
in a scathing 22-page dissent to Monday’s Supreme Court decision striking down
the majority of Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law, as he called Obama’s failure
to enforce parts of the Immigration Act “mind boggling. The president said at a news conference that
the new program is ‘the right thing to do’ in light of Congress’s failure to
pass the administration’s proposed revision of the Immigration Act,” Scalia
wrote in his dissent. “Perhaps it is, though Arizona may not think so. But to
say, as the Court does, that Arizona contradicts federal law by enforcing
applications of the Immigration Act that the President declines to enforce
boggles the mind.” Read more on Newsmax.com: Justice Scalia: Obama’s Immigration Stance ‘Boggles the
Mind’

I wonder which way he voted on the Health Care decision. I don’t think anyone on the Court, Ginsberg
included, is particularly enamored with His Royal Highness.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Will Hillary be Obama’s Veep in 2012 election? (A.J. ~
San Francisco, CA)
A. You’re probably referring to the rumor that Biden will
move to State and Clinton will become the Vice Prez. I may have started that rumor myself… check
my past posts. Although both Hillary and
Bill despise Barry, they are also realists and understand that such a ticket
would be unbeatable and practically guarantee a Democratic win in
November. However, Obama is increasingly
seen as being a poor President and Hillary recognizes she may be tainted by an
association with him and thereby lose in 2016.
Besides, do we really want a guy as Secretary of State who pops off the
gums with dumb, dumb remarks like Joe Biden does?
Q. Obama got tons of money from unidentified Middle Eastern
contributors in the last election. Is he
doing the same thing this time around?
(Hiller ~ Chehalis, WA)
A. I can’t say about the Middle East yet, but he is out
feeling for money in England, France and…. China. Does that give you the warm fuzzies?
Q. Since Arizona lost a lot of ground on the illegal immigration
issue through the Supreme Court ruling, what do you think will be the results
of Florida’s efforts to purge the voter rolls of illegal voters and dead
people? (Kenny ~ Lincoln, NE)
A. A Federal Judge ruled yesterday in favor of Florida. U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle said that
there was nothing in federal voting laws to prevent the state from identifying
non-U.S. citizens even if it comes less than 90 days before the state’s August
14 election.
