OBAMA TRYING TO TAKE OVER INTERNET… AGAIN

Last year, Obama sought total control over the Internet, giving him the ability to shut it down at will.  The attempt was thinly disguised as being necessary in the event of cyber-attack, but he would really have the power to shut off its vast communication capabilities during a period of “national unrest.”  In other words, if we get ticked off enough at him that we want to organize protests and demonstrations, he wants to shut off our ability to communicate.  He would also have the power to selectively shut down websites antagonistic to his point of view.  Congress turned him down last year, but he is now making a concerted push to get his demands met.

COMMENTS:
His latest proposal would prohibit any interference from the Courts.  We need to make Congress aware of the fact that we will not tolerate interference with the First Amendment and our right to free speech.  If there is a cyber-attack, the guys in charge of the Internet are perfectly capable of temporarily shutting it down and dealing with it; they don’t need a Marxist Socialist making their decisions for them.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Should convicted felons ever get back their rights to vote or carry a gun?  (Jim ~ Victorville, CA)
A. No.  Not only no, but hell no.  I, for one, refuse to ever go soft on crime.  If you want to vote and carry a gun, don’t commit a felony.

Q. What will Obama have to say at the State of the Union Address?  (Paul ~ Yuma, AZ)
A. The same thing he said last year: “I’m going to turn my attention to jobs.”  If he wants to talk about his accomplishments, he can sum them up in one word: “Present.”

Q. Does Gingrich still have a chance to win?  (Helena ~ Logan, UT)
A. I think Paul, Santorum and Perry will be out of the race by mid-February or the end of the month at the very latest.  It will then be between Gingrich and Romney.  I anticipate Gingrich will win South Carolina and the race will be on.  There are enough people who think Romney is “slimy” that Gingrich still has a definite chance.  And, he has my support.

TODAY’S QUOTE:
“It seems proper, at all events, that by an early enactment similar to that of other countries the application of public money by an officer of Government to private uses should be made a felony and visited with severe and ignominious punishment.” ~ Martin Van Buren
