The Obama Administration is adamantly against testing
welfare recipients for drugs before they can get their food stamps, and they’ve
vowed to fight Wisconsin’s Governor Scoot Walker tooth and nails over the
issue. Last month, a federal
appeals judge upheld a 2013 ruling that Florida's
mandatory drug-testing regime for welfare recipients was unconstitutional.
COMMENTS:
Now let’s see… Marijuana is legal in Washington and
Colorado. Would this mean that welfare
recipients cannot use their food stamps to purchase pot-laced chocolate chip
cookies? One wonders how an issue as
stupid as this can ever make it to the legislature.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I hear that the number of illegals caught at the southern
border is declining rapidly. Is that
another Obama lie? (Manny ~ Las Vegas,
NM)
A. You need to parse the words: “caught” at the southern border. That would not include those who were
detected but let go, or those not detained.
To you and me, “caught” means caught; to Obama, those “caught” and
released are not counted. Besides, look
at it this way: most of the Mexican population has already crossed the borders;
there can’t be that many left.
Q. Within a week, I hear that Obama’s ratings are higher
than they have been in 20 months; in another, I hear they are lower than ever
in his history. What gives? (Kelly ~ Santa Ynez, CA)
A. It all depends on who is doing the polling, how the
questions are asked and who the audience is.
The first poll was conducted by CNN and the second one was done by
Gallup.
Q. How would you rate our State of the Union? (Josh ~ Belmont, CA)
A. In the toilet.
