Although America’s southern border with Mexico has been
getting the lion’s share of attention for many years, a for more touchy
situation from a national security standpoint exists along the world’s longest
border, the border between the U.S. and Canada, which is 5,500 miles long. While
security experts agree that the most likely point of crossing into the U.S. for
terrorists is along the Canadian border, it is mostly unguarded.
COMMENTS:
Of course, a potential terrorist first has to get into
Canada, but they have their own home-grown terrorist cells just as we do. And there’s no shortage of Muslim groups in
Canada, either. Yes, I would venture a
guess that they are far more sophisticated when it comes to keeping terrorists
off this continent that the U.S. is, but the danger still exists and it appears
that our government is far less concerned about our national security and our
borders than they are about “global warming.”
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. We all know about the poor care given to veterans across
this country, but I often wonder how the seniors are doing. (Anne ~ Henderson, NV)
A. They rank dead last in health care, no play on words
intended. One of five seniors regularly skips
an essential test or procedure because they cannot afford it. The next thing you know, they’re going to be
whacked a fine for not having proper insurance, making the problem worse. But, that’s what the death panel in ObamaCare
provides for, isn’t it? Let the seniors
die; they no longer contribute to the taxpaying segment of society anyway, and
Obama wants the tax revenues so he can spend them.
Q. An Arizona legislator has introduced a few gun control
bills, one of which requires private sellers of guns to take the buyer and the
gun to a dealer to initiate a $20 background check. I think that’s a great idea. How do you feel? (Vanessa ~ Tampa, FL)
A. On the surface, it sounds great. But, think it through; what criminal is going
to go through a background check to get his hands on a gun? There’s already a black market in guns; all
this is going to do is jack up the price and make sellers richer, while at the
same time providing the government with another avenue of gun registration. If you really want to stop gun crimes in
America, you need to euthanize everybody.
Q. What is your opinion on abortion? (Melissa ~ Salem, OR)
A. It’s too damned bad Obama’s mother didn’t have one.
