The Justice Department said Sunday that it will review the George Zimmerman case for possible criminal civil rights violations. This development comes after news that the jury found Zimmerman innocent, and after disclosure that the Justice Department played an integral role in forcing charges and a trial in the first place. "The Department of Justice's Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to evaluate the evidence generated during the federal investigation, as well as the evidence and testimony from the state trial," the Justice Department said in a statement yesterday. "Experienced federal prosecutors will determine whether the evidence reveals a prosecutable violation of any of the limited federal criminal civil rights statutes within our jurisdiction, and whether federal prosecution is appropriate in accordance with the Department's policy governing successive federal prosecution following a state trial."

Who can forget that DOJ’s Holder dropped charges of voter intimidation in Philadelphia against the
New Black Panther Party in 2008? Who can forget that Holder snubbed the law
and flipped the big bird after being issued a Contempt of Congress citation
over Fast & Furious? Who can forget
Holder’s outright lies to Congress under oath saying he knew nothing of the DOJ’s
secret probing of FOX NEWS and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, when he personally signed
off on the warrants? Who can forget that
the FBI, which works for Holder, still hasn’t reported on Benghazi and doesn’t
know who is in charge of the IRS investigation?
Now, we are going to allow the son-of-a-bitch to keep after Zimmerman
with whatever spurious charges he can drum up until he gets a conviction? They’re just bound and determined to have a
race war, aren’t they?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Is it true that Obama is pushing for more immigrants to
pay taxes so he can have his spending ways, and that he wants to limit the
number of U.S. births? (Emory ~ Palm
Springs, CA)
A. Yes. That’s why he
wants his 11 million illegal immigrants to have immediate amnesty.
Q. The name of Ray Kelly, New York’s top cop, has been
mentioned frequently over the weekend as a replacement for Janet
Napolitano. I hear many favorable
comments. What do you think? (Rex ~ Durango, CO)
A. Well, he has worked for both Democrats and Republicans
and has an almost impeccable record. At
this point, frankly, I find myself immediately suspecting the qualifications of
anyone willing to work for the Obama
Administration.
Q. With all of this Zimmerman case lately, it’s like a news
blackout. What is the latest with
Syria? (Blanche ~ Bountiful, UT)
A. There are many reports that Israel struck Syria
again. Earlier this month, mysterious
explosions hit an arms depot at Syria’s main port of Latakia, destroying
Russian missiles capable of knocking out Israel’s Navy. Israel is denying the reports.
TODAY’S QUOTE: (Why he won't get the job...)
“The stark reality is that crime happens in communities of
color. About 70 percent to 75 percent of
the people described as committing violent crimes -- assault, robbery,
shootings, grand larceny -- are described as being African-American. The percentage of people who are stopped is
53 percent African-American. So really,
African-Americans are being under-stopped in relation to the percentage of
people being described as being the perpetrators of violent crime.”
