Q. What do you think about Michael Steele playing the race card? (Harv ~ Rio Linda, CA) A. I think anyone who plays that card has lost touch with reality; we just elected a black President. You either do the job and do it right or you fail. If it was a matter of race, they wouldn’t have their damned jobs in the first place. Such “copout” rhetoric serves no purpose other than to stir the pot.
Q. There some new stuff floating around on the Internet about a Kenyan official verifying that Obama was born in Kenya. What do you make of that? (Steph ~ Flagstaff, AZ)
A. I am not a “birther.” But, the two questions that do nag at me are why Obama has spent millions of dollars on lawyers to prevent access to his official birth records if he has nothing to hide, and why did his grandmother insist that he was born in Kenya. There’s the story out there that his birth was noticed in the Honolulu newspapers, but the notices don’t list the hospital. Obama officials say he was born at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children; others say that the facility was not in existence in 1961. It should be noted that it was known as Kapi‘olani Maternity Home prior to 1978.
Q. What do you think will happen if Israel strikes Iran? (Gordy ~ Williamsburg, VA)
A. Ahmadinejad will get ticked off. Americans will be overjoyed. Obama is hoping it will happen before the November elections.
