U.S. SENATOR THREATENED BY WHITE HOUSE?

At least three White House and Congressional sources are now saying that U.S. Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska was told by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel the White House would put Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska on the base closure list, (BRAC) unless Nelson casts his vote in favor of the Senate Health Care Bill. Offutt is the headquarters for the Strategic Air Command and as such is vital to the nation’s security. Nelson has adamantly said he will not vote in favor of the pending Senate Health Care Bill unless it contains a provision prohibiting public-funded abortions. Both the White House and Senator Nelson have denied the report of a threat.

COMMENTS:
The fact that three different reliable sources have made the allegation lends credence to the story. Nelson would probably not betray his party by admitting that the threat had been made. In my opinion, Emanuel would not have made such a threat without Obama’s knowledge and possibly his direction. The White House under this Administration has already become widely known for its “Chicago-style hardball muscle” used to force anyone and everyone to do as it orders, “or else.” But, this is an impeachable offense and needs to be immediately investigated to the fullest. If true, Obama is nothing more than a common street thug, and he and his “gang” need to go.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What’s the latest on the robbery at the U.S. Bank in Burney?
(Arlie – Johnson Park, CA)
A. The suspect who was shot in the bank during the police standoff died. Two customers were injured. Four employees escaped uninjured; one had been hiding in the ATM vault room and the three others had been taken hostage by the suspect. Sheriff’s officers handled this robbery with top professionalism.

Q. Just what are we going to do about the situation in Iran? They seem to be awfully close to being able to deliver a nuke to Israel.
(Ford – Williamsburg, VA)
A. Well, we could try sending Obama over there to apologize; maybe a good laugh would ease the tension. Or, we could make a preemptive strike and take out his sites. However, the latter option would probably force radical Muslims in this country into open Jihad and we would be in deep trouble. For now, it appears that we are on a tightrope to hell.

Q. I heard on the news that the Fed is leaving interest rates at their record low. In lay man’s terms, what does that mean?
(Quint - New York, NY)
A. It means that womens' hemlines will be lower. Actually, it’s the first good news I’ve heard in months. It means that interest rates on money being lent will stay down, even if demand for loans does increase. That would ordinarily encourage businesses to borrow, hire, and expand, but we are still fearful about what the Health Care Bill will cost us, what Cap & Trade will cost us, how much our taxes are going to go up, and a myriad of other concerns posed by this Administration, so we are still hesitant. Another drawback is that money being saved also draws low interest.

TODAY’S QUOTE:
“But the basic difficulty still remains: It is the expansion of Federal power, about which I wish to express my alarm. How easily we embrace such business.”
