When U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power testifies before a House Appropriations subcommittee next Wednesday, the panel will consider a budget request for international organizations that is 33% bigger than last year’s, including a 43% hike in U.S. contributions to peacekeeping missions.
COMMENTS:
Over my dead body.
The United Nations is beyond useless.
I know Obama believes the U.N. should morph into being the New World Government
with him as Premier; he’s got another thing coming.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Did Obama give rosary beads gifted to him by the Pope to
Nancy Pelosi? (Al ~ Garden Grove, CA)
A. Yes. I guess Obama
didn’t appreciate the gift all that much.
Q. A friend told me that CMS and Medicare are
considering changes to the Prescription Part D that could force insurance
policies up or force policy holders to change their benefit plans. Evidently, this is due to ObamaCare cutting
Medicare funding? (Bitsy ~ Boise, ID)
A. This new regulation is just another example of big
government undermining free-market enterprise and competition. The government
should not be interfering in your prescription drug benefit. This could take place at any time now, and it
is important that you contact your Congressional delegation to voice your
opinion; this is just one more rape of the American public.
Q. What is your opinion of the proposed Ryan budget cuts
that would save us $5.1 trillion over the next ten years? (Edgar ~ Scottsdale, AZ)
A. I think it sounds good, but it does contain a provision
that cuts back Medicare drastically. The
premise, I guess, is that Medicare and Social Security qualify as “entitlements”
in the sense that they are government giveaways. We have been paying into both of those
programs, many of us all of our lives, with the expectation that certain
benefits would be available upon retirement.
It is grossly unfair and classically Un-American to cut those benefits
when we all know that those two funds have been raided by the government
fat-cats for past spending binges.
Taking away the benefits now amounts not only to double-taxation, but taxation
without representation. Now, if they
leave the current plans alone and restore what they stole before, I can go
along with modifying the program for future generations, because you’ll be
modifying their expectations at the same time.
