COMMENTS:
You heard it from me on MY AMERICAN OPINION back on February 13th that this Health Care conference planned for February 25th was just a ruse. Once passed, Obama is fully prepared to veto any attempt by the next Congress to repeal it. If this scenario plays out as it appears it will be played, it constitutes a wide-open declaration of war by this Administration against the will of the people and against the principles upon which this country was founded. We need to be prepared to deal with it. Let’s pay close attention to what comes down Monday.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is your opinion of Tiger Woods’ speech yesterday? (Seth ~ Sacramento, CA)A. It took a lot of guts and courage and I would say that he now has his priorities straightened out. Whether or not he can get rid of the slice, (play on words intended), remains to be seen.
Q. Do you think there will be Social Security and/or Medicare cuts? (Bobbie ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. I think there will be an attempt made. Although I agree that we cannot afford to go on this way, those now drawing Social Security have paid into the system for years on the expectation of payment. To now change that structure is a violation of contract and a violation of national trust. The proper answer is to phase Social Security out entirely over a period of decades. There are two points I need to make: (1) The government has indeed been “borrowing” from the Social Security pool for years, thereby speeding up its impending bankruptcy and (2) Had we followed the Bush plan to allow Social Security funds to be invested into the stock market by the “account holder,” a major portion of retirees would have gone under water last year.
Q. Just how serious do you think this situation with Iran really is? (Marguerita ~ Tucson, AZ)
A. Extremely serious. As Barry Goldwater would have said, “It’s time for our President to shit, or get off the pot.” Please pass the Zig Zags?
