OBAMA: CUT MILITARY RETIREMANT PAY

According to the Washington Times, President Barack Obama said Monday that he supports the idea of reducing military retirement pay by about 20 percent.  While the plan cuts retirement benefits by 20 percent, the Department of Defense would balance that by contributing up to 6 percent of a soldier's basic pay into a 401(k)-style savings plan for those serving more than two years.

COMMENTS:
Why don’t we just make them fund their own retirement and eliminate the benefit entirely?  I mean, if you’re going to screw somebody, screw them good.  This is just one more slick-worded scheme to pay back the military for voting against Obama in 2012.  And we want them to protect us against our enemies?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Did I hear this correctly: Global warming causes prostitution?  (Yancey ~ Little Rock, AR)
A. You heard it right.  California Democrat Barbara Lee has proposed a resolution in the House of Representatives that claims women will eventually be forced to sell their bodies for food and water, because of global warming.  It is upon that leap of reasoning that the left-wingers insist that global warming is a far more serious threat to the world than terrorism.  On that line of thinking one could say we have a serious duty to eat hamburgers and steaks; if we don’t, fewer cows will go to slaughter and more cows will survive, meaning more cow flatulence will exist and that, as the EPA is teaching us, also leads to global warming.

Q. What’s all of the flack about Obama’s passport information being released?  You’d think someone had managed to get his actual birth certificate!  Who would want to steal HIS identity, anyway?  (Rosa ~ El Paso TX)
A. Yeah, you’d think someone had found Hillary’s and Lois Lerner's emails, wouldn’t you?  You don’t suppose it is a Kenyan passport, do you?

Q. So Lufthansa (Germanwings) knew that the co-pilot (Lubitz) had been suffering from depression and they allowed him in the cockpit anyway?  Shouldn’t that mean the end of the once proud Lufthansa?  (Honcho ~ Lake Isabel, CA)
A. In the U.S., with all of the lawsuits and awards, I think it would mean the end of the airline.  But remember, the standards and regulations are different in other countries.  Certainly from my standpoint, Lufthansa displayed huge negligence, and their top brass should not only be fired, but they should be held personally liable for damages as well. Nice guys, those Germans.
