Three people have been killed at two different Jewish centers
in Kansas City, Kansas. At the time of this
post, there was no confirmation that this was a hate crime. The shooter, in his 70’s, was caught at a
local elementary school not connected with the Jewish centers. The shootings occurred outside of the centers
and there is no indication that the shooter knew his victims.
COMMENTS:
While there was no confirmed evidence at post time, (16:35
PDT Sunday), that the crime was a hate crime, the fact that the two shootings
were at different Jewish locations speaks for itself. I surely hope that the authorities jump on
this investigation with all four feet. We need to know if this was indeed a hate
crime and I suspect that it was. We have
long revered the right of people in this country to have their personal lives
and viewpoints. This is somewhat akin to
the Chairman of Mozilla who lost his job because of his anti-gay stances. So, the killer needs to be condemned and
condemned and condemned if his shootings were motivated by his anti-Jewish
beliefs.

A. You have it backwards: violence brings fists, knives,
explosives, bombs and guns. If you want
to cure the so-called “gun problem,” you have to cure the violence first. To be unarmed is to leave you and your family
open to harm by the violent among us. If
you love your spouse and children, you are negligent unless you are prepared to
deal with that violence and to provide protection. Remember that God takes care of those who
take care of themselves.
