Katrina Bookman of Queens, New York, was playing a slot
machine when she won almost $43 million; the problem is, the casino refused to
pay and offered her a steak dinner and $2.25 instead.
COMMENTS:
The New York State Gaming Commission was called and ruled in
the casino’s favor, saying the machine had “malfunctioned.” The question is: How many people were cheated
out of any possibility of a win on that machine in the past? Granted, casinos carry a disclaimer
stipulating that in case of a malfunction, they don’t have to pay up. However, it’s bad vibes and bad karma for the
joint; they should at least offer some consolation prize in such events, such
as $2.30 and two steak dinners. They’ll pay for it in the long run; bad
publicity like that goes around fast in the gambling world.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand that Hillary and the Democrats are madder
than hell and demanding action. What for
now? (Julius ~ Bella Vista, CA)
A. It seems that vandals attacked a highway sign on Sagtikos
Parkway in suburban New York City which designated an off-ramp named “Crooked
Hill,” and changed it to… “Crooked Hillary.”
Of course, defacing highway signs is illegal and I suppose the FBI will
get right on it... especially since they did such a great job on Benghazi and the Email scandal.
Q. They found a “hit list” on James Hodgkinson including
names of top GOP targets. I haven’t
heard much about it. (Woody ~ Henderson,
KY)
A. That’s because they’re all Republicans and, according to
a host of Dems and liberals, therefore expendable… certainly not worth
mentioning on the evening news.
Q. I don’t understand how two ships, both armed with a whole
pile of high-tech navigational aids, one of which is one of the most sophisticated
naval ships in the world, could run into each other. What are your thoughts? (Amanda ~ Oxnard, CA)
A. It’s highly improbable to me that ships navigators on both
ships flaked out at the same time. So, I
think the Russians did it and Trump helped them. Either that or the North Koreans hacked into
the computer systems on both ships and caused them to run into each other.
