AN ACT OF WAR, OR AN ACCIDENT?

Russian aircraft bombed a site almost on top of U.S. forces in Syria on Tuesday.  Nearby U.S.-backed forces were, in fact, struck.   According to a FOX NEWS report, U.S. troops were several miles away, and the bombing stopped after U.S. officials made “quick calls … to deconfliction channels,” said the commander of Operation Inherent Resolve, the joint operation to stop ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

With today’s battlefield technology and GPS systems, how could this be an accident?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Things are getting absurd.  I hear Rotary International is banning guns owned by its members?  (Carlton ~ Bullhead City, AZ)
A. Not quite correct.  Like many organizations across the country, Rotary Clubs have often raffled off guns or held gun shows as money raisers.  At the start of 2017, the foundation installed new rules prohibiting its clubs from accepting sponsorships from, or co-branding with, firearms or weapons companies.  Clubs were also warned against hosting gun shows, gun sporting events or hunts or gun raffles, all of which are used as fundraising events for the organization and its humanitarian programs.  I suppose that also means they can no longer invite a cop to lunch unless he leaves his gun in his car.  I’ll never give another dollar to a Rotary function again.

Q. What’s going on with Planned Parenthood, abortions and selling of baby body parts these days?  (Julie ~ Gadsden, AL)
A. I guess they’re still at it, for now.  The Planned Parenthood CEO is all beside herself, now that Trump is President; the government is likely to defund them and donations are drying up because donors are afraid of that political “hot potato.”   But, if you’d like to buy an arm or a leg for your dog to chew on, just give them a call.  My God, they’re just downright evil.

Q. What is going on with Target these days?  It’s been awhile since their move to transgender bathrooms.  (Orville ~ Davenport, IA)
A. Their stock is in the toilet, pardon the play on words.  It’s dropped more than 30%, costing shareholders some $15 billion.  And they can’t blame it on business in general or the economy; Walmart is up 3% in the same time period.  Remember their CEO proclaiming: “we welcome transgender team members and [customer] guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity?”  Hopefully, they won’t be around much longer.
