The City of Houston has backed down from subpoenas it issued
for sermons and remarks from the pulpit by city religious organizations. The mayor is an acknowledged lesbian and the
subpoenas were after any sermons or remarks about sexual preference, gays,
etc. After a nationwide negative
response over government interference with the freedom of religion and the
right to free speech, the city has dropped its demands to peruse the contents
of the sermons for evidence of so-called hate speech.
COMMENTS:
The mayor was quick to lay the blame on the lawyers who drew
up the subpoenas, saying they were “overly broad.” I’ll never cease to be amazed by the antics
of the liberal left; when they get caught with their pants down, (play on words
intended); they never accept responsibility for their own actions and, like
Obama, blame someone else.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. There’s so much hysteria over Ebola. It’s very difficult to transmit. We have had only three cases diagnosed here;
what’s the panic? (Leona ~ Alturas, CA)
A. That’s the way it
started in Africa… one, two, now in the hundreds of thousands. The argument that medical care in Africa is
far inferior to care here is also bull.
It doesn’t matter what the level of care is, it matters whether or not
you get it, because over 50% of those who do get it die with, or without,
medical care. And remember: the
administration that is in charge of the CDC is the same administration that was
in charge during Fast & Furious, the Benghazi Massacre, the I.R.S.
oppression, the V.A., the D.O.J., the B.L.M. the response to I.S.I.S., the “red
line” in Syria and ObamaCare. Do you really feel better now?
Q. Why do you feel we should stop flights into the country
from Africa? We do have much better
medical care here. (Kent ~ Provo, UT)
A. I.S.I.S. believes in beheading and killing every one of
us. Would you allow I.S.I.S. members to freely fly into the U.S. on theory that
we can deal with them once they get here?
Every single Ebola carrier who
gets into the U.S. increases the odds that we will have a national plague.
Q. Why is Obama all of the sudden reversing his historic
course and cancelling campaign trips to stay in Washington and deal with the
Ebola crisis? After all, it’s been his
position that he has a “travelling White House” and can run the country from
anywhere. (Mal ~ Longmont, CO)
A. Well, it could be because those candidates didn’t really
want him to appear anyway. Gasp!!!
