Tens of thousands of Connecticut gun owners have refused to abide with the state’s new gun control laws requiring registration of their weapons; they could now be considered felons under the new law. Last April, Governor Dannel Malloy signed into law a slew of new firearm restrictions that require, among other items, residents to register “assault” weapons and guns with high-capacity magazines. Only a fraction has followed the new law and the remainder could all soon face serious consequences if the state decides to take action.
COMMENTS:
Well now, ain’t that just too damned bad? Let this refusal to roll over to the gun
control advocates and play dead be a warning: American gun owners are not going to go running to any gun
confiscation venue and give up their guns.
Period, Mr. Obama… I don’t give a
damn how many Executive Orders you sign.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think marijuana should be legalized throughout the
U.S.? (Sally ~ Tempe, AZ)
A. Absolutely not. The
argument that marijuana is not a gateway drug to the use of harder drugs such
as cocaine and heroin is totally fallacious. Furthermore, if you put all of the
growers and distributors of illegal pot out of business, they are not going to
dry up and blow away; they’ll turn their illegal attentions toward dealing in
the hard stuff. Now then, do I think
users should go to jail? Not until about
the third or fourth conviction, and then for short periods. Do I believe distributors should go to
jail? Yes, and throw away the keys. Do I believe in allowing medical use? Yes, until a better substitute is found. To allow the legalization of marijuana in
this country is almost as dumb as the reelection of Barack Obama.
Q. Do you really believe Boehner should be removed as House
Speaker? (Chaz ~ Nevada City, CA)
A. He has turned his back on his constituency in order to
placate the Progressives. He has abrogated
his duty as an American to keep our finances sound. He has done a “John Roberts,” in that he has capitulated
to Obama’s agenda. He should join the
Democratic Party and quit pretending to be “The Great Pretender.” Ohio needs to do the nation a big favor and
not reelect him in November. We need a
Ted Cruz or a Rand Paul type in that slot.
Q. Is Sarah Palin done in politics? (Mollie ~ Battle Ground, WA)
A. I don’t see her as a Presidential candidate, if that’s
what you mean. Under the right circumstances,
I remotely see her as a Vice Presidential candidate. I can also visualize her as Alaska State
Senator, Secretary of Energy or in some other key position. I am hopeful that citizens will seek to demand
true American patriotism out of any candidate, and I would rate her extremely high in
that respect. I think she has much to
contribute to our country. But, I do not
see her as being a “Soccer Mom” President.
