HEALTH CARE ISSUE EXPLODES
Angry Americans have been shouting down Congressional representatives at town hall meetings across the country, fueling charges of partisanship; the Administration is running ads accusing the Republicans of staging “angry mob” protests.

A. Tax revenues are down because people are out of work and not spending money. The expenses are up due to the need to pay unemployment and all of the spending that Congress has been doing. The problem is that, when you raise taxes, people have less money to spend, which means that businesses have less income and must lay off more people in order to keep from losing money. So, it is possible, even probable, that when they raise taxes, their revenues will go down.

A. Big oil and the environmentalists are against nuclear energy. Big oil wants to make the money and the environmentalists like living in the dark.

MIDDLE-CLASS TAX INCREASES: About Face-Twice
The top three Treasury officials, on different weekend television shows, danced and skirted around the direct question of whether or not we are going to have middle-class tax increases, despite Obama’s assurances that we would not. Our pal, tax-cheat Tim Geithner, appearing on Stephanopolos, answered the question by saying that we are spending a lot of money and “We’re going to have to make some hard choices.” Obama came out Monday and said there would be no tax increases for the middle class, but by now the damage was done and polls show that most Americans don’t trust him anymore.

I can answer that with nine (9) fingers tied behind my back! And they want to add insult to injury by passing a $1.5 trillion Government-run health boondoggle on top of it?

Q. What’s this about Tennessee State Senator Paul Stanley resigning after he got caught having an affair with a 22-year-old intern? (Fran – Dayton, NV)
A. It’s all a matter of mixed-up priorities. Instead of screwing the intern, he should have been screwing the public, like the rest of the politicians. It’s considered to be unethical when you screw an intern.
Q. Why did they run out of money already for the “Cash for Clunkers” program that was supposed to last four months? (Felipe – Port Arthur, TX)
A. Because, like all of the other programs the current administration started, they made a “miscalculation.” Logically, they need to spend $100,000 for new calculators for Congress and the White House… That would be money well spent. Makes you wonder how big their “miscalculation” is going to be for the Government Health Plan, doesn’t it?

TEXANS ARE TRUE PATRIOTS AND ALWAYS TELL IT LIKE IT IS

It contains a message that is vital for us to read every day and to contemplate while our President and Congress take a brief hiatus from all of the damage they are doing to our country. It's a message well-worth sending on and, due to the tremendous growth of this new blog, I decided to post it here before posting it on "TODAY'S BEST EMAIL."

Dr. Donald May delivered this message from the courthouse steps in Lubbock. He electrified the audience like I haven't seen in a long time. His delivery was masterful. I am sorry you could not see him in action. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy his words.

"We are gathered here today on the plains of West Texas in common purpose. We are here to remind our government that this is our country. We the People are still in charge, and our government is still our servant and not our master. Our Nation's founding document is The Declaration of Independence. It tells us that our rights come from God and NOT from a small group of Elite men and women.
Our Constitution starts with the words "We the People." Our Constitution was written for ordinary Americans like you and me. Our Constitution protects us from our government and from the politicians.
Our President has complained that our Constitution gives ordinary people too much protection. He has ridiculed us for the high value we place on our Bibles, our guns, our personal property, and our Liberty. He tells us we do not deserve to keep the money we have earned. We are told freedom has not worked. Personal responsibility, free enterprise, and Liberty have not been effective. Our government will now make more of our decisions for us.
Other than our military, I can think of not one government agency I have ever found to be helpful. And speaking of our military, how about those Navy Seals blowing the heads off those three terrorist pirates? Don't you just wish our entire government would function with such efficiency, professionalism, and courage?
We watch in disbelief as our beloved United States is weakened economically, militarily, and morally by a
radical President and his eager accomplices. What has taken generations to build is systematically destroyed and replaced with the same Socialist Evil that brought poverty, destruction, and despair to untold hundreds of millions.
The problems we face today have occurred because we have not defended our Nation from Socialism. For too long we have allowed the wrong people to make the worst possible decisions.
The Bible warns us of class hatred. The radical leadership of our government daily fans the evil flames of class envy. Our European and Canadian friends beg us to NOT make the same Socialist mistakes they did.
The President of the European20 Union warned our President that his Socialist economic plans are taking the World down the 'road to Hell.' The path to power for Socialists includes taking God and guns from the
citizens. Without spiritual and physical protection, people cannot defend themselves and their Liberty. They soon become slaves.
We are angered that... our President apologizes for the exceptionalism and heroism of the United States of America. We are deeply troubled that he told others the United States is not a Christian nation. We are angered that... we have been called cowards and racistsbbecause we oppose Socialism. Socialism is not racial. Socialism is an equal opportunity destroyer.
We are angered that... a recent Department of Homeland Security report has singled out our military men and women who are returning home as being radical threats. The report also characterizes you and me as
right-wing extremists and radicals because we favor smaller government and lower taxes. You and I are average citizens who believe just like most of our fellow Americans. We want our government to leave us
alone and to keep its hands off our money, our religion, or guns, our private property, and our lives.
We demand that our government STOP spending money it does not have; STOP confiscating our money and private property; STOP printing money; STOP subsidizing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the other failed financial institutions and companies.
Mr. President, stop appointing tax cheats to positions of power and influence. Mr. President, secure our borders. Mr. President, do NOT divert money from our missile defense, F-22 Raptors, and other vital military equipment. This gives encouragement, aid, and comfort to our enemies. Protecting us is your
number one job.
Mr. President, do NOT give voting rights to millions of illegal aliens and felons. You have no more right to create new voters for your benefit than you do to use our money to buy the 2010 and 2012 elections..
We gather peacefully here today because there is a growing concern for what our government is doing to us and to our future. We fear for the very survival of our Republic. Yet there is much to make us hopeful and to fill our hearts with optimism and courage. This is still OUR country! The Constitution of the United States belongs to We the People. Our Constitution still protects us from our government.
Call every possible elected official, including our President, Vice President, and the Speaker of the House. Demand that they STOP stealing our money and giving it to ACORN and their other political supporters in
order to buy votes. Call Senators Cornyn and Hutchison, and Representative Neugebauer. Thank them. Urge them to do much more. Remind them now is a time for action and not for campaigning.
Volunteer to work on our 2010 Census. Confront ACORN. Keep our Census honest. We must NOT allow our President to take control of our Census for his political advantage.
We must replace as much of our Far Left Congress as possible in 2010. Get involved. Do NOT let the ACORN control our 2010 Election.
Talk with someone every day who does not understand our nation's history and our great heritage. Tell them why the United States is a good and prosperous nation. It still remains that brightly lit city on the hill. It still is the best hope for all mankind. Talk with all of the young people you can find. They are our future. Many do not understand what they have and that their future is being destroyed.
Encourage your elected State officials to pass legislation that will protect us from our Federal government. This is a time for strong peaceful action. CONGRESS TO PASS BILL FOR TRIAL LAWYERS TAX BREAK
The Democratic controlled Congress is about to pass legislation that will provide the nation’s trial lawyers well over $1 billion in tax breaks per year. The group is represented by a PAC, (Political Action Committee), which raised almost that much in political campaign donations last year, 96% of which went to Democratic candidates and the rest to Republicans who are screaming charges of “political payback at the taxpayer’s expense.”
COMMENTS:
Those Republicans are such whiners. The tax breaks will incentivize more people to become trial lawyers, and that will lead to more lawsuits. More lawsuits will mean more Court clerks, judges and defense attorneys will need to be employed, investigators hired, and news reporters required to cover the juicy details. This is economic stimulus at its best, the way the stimulus program is really intended to work; and the manner in which it is being accomplished really shows how modern Washington and our elected representatives think, act and legislate.

HOUSE DEMOCRATS PUSH COMPROMISE GOVERNMENT HEALTH BILL
Despite telling the country that there is no way they will have a Health Bill before Summer Recess, House Democrats pushed a compromise health overhaul yesterday, actively seeking success on President Obama's top domestic priority before the recess begins.
"We've got to pass the bill. Not only do we have to, but we're going to," said Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters during the day that August deadlines were a product of the media, rather than lawmakers or the White House.

NORTH KOREA SEIZES SOUTH KOREAN FISHING BOAT
“North Korea seized a South Korean fishing boat early Thursday after it accidentally crossed the countries' sea border, a news report said. “Yonhap news agency quoted a Defense Ministry official as saying that the incident took place at about 6:30 a.m. (2130 GMT Wednesday) in the East Sea and that four people were on board the South Korean boat. “He said that the boat's satellite navigation system appeared to have malfunctioned and that a North Korean patrol boat took the ship into custody. HOME-GROWN TERRORISM REARS ITS UGLY HEAD
Seven men have been arrested in South Carolina in connection with a plot to conduct terrorist activities abroad and, perhaps, in the United States. At least one of those arrested has evidently taken terrorist training in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The group had accumulated a significant amount of firearms and explosives, according to news reports.

See the blog post of July 25th. My guess is that this is only the tip of the iceberg. I have reason to believe that dozens of similar “cells” already exist in the United States, and that the odds of such a “cell” being within 100 miles of where you live are about 80%. We need to be aware of the “enemy within,” and to be constantly aware of the possibility of such activities going on right under our noses. If we see unusual activities, we need to promptly report them to law enforcement officials. These activities underscore the real need for American citizens to have the right to bear arms.

TWO SENATORS KNEW THEY WERE GETTING UNETHICAL LOAN DEALS
Democratic U.S. Senators Kent Conrad and Chris Dodd were told up front that they were getting “VIP” mortgage discounts from Countrywide Financial, according to Robert Feinberg, the official who handled their loans. Countrywide went on to lose billions of dollars in loans to poorly qualified and money-strapped borrowers and allegations surfaced that Dodd and Conrad had benefited from loan deals that gave them favorable rates, discounts and loan fees. Dodd heads the Senate Banking Committee.

TESTING AT 96 OREGON SEWAGE PLANTS SHOWS ILLEGAL DRUGS
Last year, researchers at Oregon State University, the University of Washington and McGill University took one-day samples from 96 Oregon sewage treatment plants that volunteered to participate. Cocaine showed up in 80% of the plants tested. There were easily detectable levels of meth and ecstasy in almost all systems tested.
COMMENTS:
The theory is that the drugs got passed through urine into toilets and then into the system, which means that a relatively high number of Oregonians use the illegal drugs. I can’t help but wonder how their numbers would compare to results of similar testing in Washington, D.C. Some of the things those lawmakers are coming up with are beyond wacko.

We need incentives for people to go to med school and we need caps on malpractice damages and we need to allow Canada to compete in our drug market to drive prices down to reality. Those are the things we need to start with while we debate the remaining issues.

A. The so-called flight that supposedly scared the hell out of New Yorkers and made national headlines for days never actually occurred. It was simply a matter of mass hysteria and has been categorized by the Air Force Project Blue Book as an “Unidentified Flying Object.”
Q. Whatever happened to Pee-wee Herman? (Al – Hoboken, NJ)
A. I heard that, after serving jail-time he changed his name and became a “helping hand” at the Mustang Ranch.

CITY MANAGER LOSES JOB OVER WIFE’S OCCUPATION
Fort Meyers Beach, Fl fired its manager after learning he is married to an adult video actress. The town council voted to terminate the contract of its manager, Scott Janke, and then held a meeting Wednesday night to explain its actions to town residents. The town council says her profession brings an inappropriate and negative image to a place that prides itself on being family-friendly.

PRESIDENT ADDRESSES NATION ON HEALTH CARE PLAN
The President went before the nation, (again), to push his Health Care Reform Plan. He started by informing the public that the various economic plans his administration have put into effect have saved the country and that the crisis is over. He did admit that unemployment is high, but says that’s to be expected. Then, he went on to say that the urgency to get the "Plan" passed comes from the multitudes of Americans who are besieging his office to hurry up.
COMMENTS:
He must be from a different planet. No one that I know of is saying that the economic crisis is over or that his plans worked. Americans are trying to slow this process down so that they can have a chance to read and understand the Plan; they do NOT want it rushed. And, I know less about his “Plan” now than I did before I watched his press conference. Please pass the gray poop on.

MYSTERY BLOB IDENTIFIED
A huge, dark, gooey floating mass in the Arctic Ocean has been identified. It was fibrous and hairy and scary, but test results have identified it as an enormously large miles-long bloom of algae.
