Several hundred ranchers, the New Mexico Congressional
Delegation and officials from public security agencies such as the Border
Patrol, U.S. Army, National Guard and border-county sheriffs, all met in the
New Mexico town of Animas last week to talk about our broken border with
Mexico. “The border isn’t secure,” said
Bill McDonald, co-founder and executive director of the Malpai Borderlands
Group, which manages a working cattle ranch and conservation effort on nearly 1
million acres of the Bootheel. “It’s like a balloon. When they tamp down in one
area, (drug traffickers) move somewhere else. They’ve got all the technology to
move where they see a weakness and right now the weakness is in southwest New
Mexico.”
COMMENTS:
Hopefully, they’ll all vote for Trump, because no one else
in the presidential race seems to be interested.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What are your thoughts about Lindsey Graham doing a 180
and supporting Cruz? (Verna ~ Denver,
CO)
A. It seems like virtually every loser in the country is being
attracted to the Cruz camp.
Q. How can a cell phone just catch on fire, like what
happened last week on an airplane? (Ole
~ Madison, WI)
A. It must have been a hot telephone call. Lithium batteries make me nervous, especially
since they’re now using them in rectal thermometers.
Q. I’m surprised that Obama put forth such a moderate name
for his Supreme Court nominee as Merrick Garland. Why do you think he did that? (Chelsea ~ Arlington, TX)
A. I think the only guy calling Garland a “moderate” is
Barack Obama. Garland is definitely not
in favor of the Second Amendment, for example.
Garland clerked for the Supreme Court’s liberal icon, Justice William
Brennan, and was reportedly considered for a cabinet post in President Obama’s
administration. He has also has
demonstrated a remarkable level of hostility toward the right to keep and bear
arms, voting to uphold D.C.’s very restrictive gun restrictions and siding with
the federal government in its plan to retain Americans’ personal information
from background checks for firearm purchases.
Obviously, you can’t judge a Judge by his robe.
