Russian nuclear bombers have, for the second time in recent
months, flown precipitously close to U.S. airspace. The encounters come amid Russian war games
along the border with eastern Ukraine, raising western concerns that Moscow
might invade that country to support pro-Moscow separatists battling the Kiev
government since spring. A U.S. air
command official acknowledged at least 16 Russian forays around Alaska and
northern Canada in the past 10 days, describing them as “routine training
missions.”

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. They just ruled James Brady’s recent death to be a homicide. That shooting happened in 1981. Why so long?
(Bernice ~ Shasta Lake City, CA)
A. Because he wasn’t dead yet.
Q. How can Obama justify heading for Martha’s Vineyard for a
12-day vacation with everything that is going on in the world today? (Don ~ Wisconsin Rapids, WI)
A. To be honest, Obama’s White House always answers that question
by saying that the President always has access to whatever he needs in the way
of communications no matter where he is… and that’s true. On the other hand, he confesses to being
out-of-touch unless he reads the morning newspaper and he’s also known to
frequently miss intelligence briefings. In
my opinion, with a golf swing like that, he should keep his butt in the White
House.
Q. I.S.I.S. claims it will raise the flag of Allah at the
White House. How do you respond to
that? (Cass ~ Plymouth, MA)
A. Unless things change in the American psyche, I think that
it is possible and sooner that you might think.
