The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) plans to spend up to
$450,000 in taxpayer dollars to teach Native American tribes in the Great Basin
region ”climate adaptation plans” for their hunting, fishing and gathering
activities.
… The Great Basin Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GBLCC)
is one of 22 LCCs nationwide established by the Department of the Interior
(DOI) in 2010 to “better integrate science and management to address climate
change and related issues.” The Great Basin area covers parts of Idaho, Nevada,
Oregon, Utah and California.
… Todd Hopkins, GBLCC’s science coordinator, told
CNSNews.com that the trainings will focus on “actions that the tribes can take
in response to changing climatic conditions.” They also plan to teach Native Americans how to better manage their environment.
COMMENTS:
Obviously, it has not occurred to those blithering bimbos
that before Europeans got here, the Natives had no air pollution, the waters
were pure and the land was abundant in life and liberty. They have no concept of one of the early
teachings of Native Americans: we humans are merely stewards of the land for
future generations; it is our duty to leave it better off than it was when we
found it. If the BLM wants to teach the
Natives how to manage the environment, they should reexamine their own track
records of environmental blunders over the decades of their own mismanagement. I guess that since Cliven Bundy got their
goat it is incumbent upon them to find someone else to lay 196,000 volumes of
regulations on.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think raising the legal smoking age, like they are
planning in New Jersey, will make a difference? (Sissy ~ Orem, UT)
A. Yes; it will instantly create millions of more criminals
in the country. Beyond that, it’s not going
to change a thing, except to add more of a thrill to sneaking a smoke.
Q. Here’s something I can’t figure out. They keep raising
taxes and adding more regulations on businesses, so businesses are fleeing the
country in waves. Now, Obama wants to
fine them for leaving the country. This
is stupid. (Margaret ~ Henderson, NV)
A. Moves like that come from the mentality that you can
force people to be totally under your control, to make them do as you want or
regret it. It is a blatant attempt to
bring businesses under a firm socialistic system. I guess he considers himself to be a Kenyan Pharaoh;
I understand they are planning on
building a pyramid for his Presidential library. Yeah, how did you know? It’s going to be at the Magic Kingdom.
Q. Is ISIS growing in numbers, or staying about the same? (Bryce ~ St. Paul, MN)
A. They are growing by leaps and bounds. Al Qaeda has pretty much been absorbed by
their ranks, and terrorists by the thousands are leaving Yemen and Africa to go
join them. They are being
attracted by the rapid success of ISIS in battle and in establishing a caliphate
in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Any
President who thinks dropping a few bombs and flying a few drones over the area
is going to cause ISIS to jump onto their camels and head out of town is sadly
mistaken.
