NOW A SYRIAN CEASE FIRE?

Syria's deputy prime minister for economic affairs, in an interview with The Guardian, has announced President Bashar Assad wants a cease-fire with the rebels.

COMMENTS:
Wow, how the world can change in just ten short days.  I suppose, with Iran willing to enter into “discussions” and Syria looking for a cease fire, Israel must be as happy as a clam.  This news surely must take the wind out of Obama’s sails.  Pardon my cynicism, but I believe all of this just like I believe Obama was born in Toledo.  What has really happened here is that Putin is solidifying the fact that he is now in the driver’s seat in the Middle East and Obama has been outflanked, out-maneuvered and out-witted by an oil-hungry decades-old enemy.  All Putin has to do now is to merely appear to appeal to the world’s desire for peace and there’s not a damned thing this country can do to prevent a massive Russian expansion of international influence.  And here we stand naked, stripped of our clothes.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I can’t believe my ears!  Now we’re entering into diplomatic negotiations with Iran?  (Gabrielle ~ Bellevue, WA)
A. We might as well.  Thanks to Barry, Russia is giving Iran missiles and a nuclear reactor, so how can we stop the Iranians from getting nuclear weapons now?  Uncle Barry should be impeached for aiding and abetting the enemy.  All those in favor of awarding him another Nobel Peace Prize say, “Ewwww.”

Q. The House passed a budget bill yesterday which includes defunding of ObamaCare.  Do you think there is any way that will actually happen?  (Thad ~ Boise, ID)
A. Ordinarily, I would give you a flat “No.”  However, if enough citizens put enough pressure on the Senate, it is possible… remotely possible… that Reid will have to allow a vote on the floor and that it might pass.  Under those circumstances, given Obama’s loss of stature as a result of the Syrian situation, he might… just might… agree to delay the program for another year.  This will be interesting to watch.

Q. I didn’t hear a peep on 9/11 this year about observing the Benghazi Massacre.  How come?  (Minerva ~ Burbank, CA)
A. As far as Obama is concerned, that “event” is dead and buried.  If you want to see him get hot under the collar, just ask him a question about Benghazi at a press conference.
