IS WORLD ECONOMY ABOUT TO IMPLODE?

The NEW YORK TIMES is reporting that the worldwide economy is on the precipice of collapse under the weight of trillions of dollars in toxic loans, somewhat akin to what happened in the U.S. in 2008.  For years, the Fed and other central banks have poured trillions in easy, low-interest money into the world economies, and now many of those loans are about to go bust.  Such toxic loans around the world could take down the global economy.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:

Q. What’s the ruckus about an Air Force General fainting?  (Julie ~ Issaquah, WA)
A. General James Martin Jr. was at the podium and about so speak regarding the proposed military budget when he had a dizzy spell.  Evidently, this humongous amount of money that Obama wants to spend has even the military heads spinning in embarrassment. But, fear not; Congress will pass it.

Q. What is SWATting?  (Horace ~ Phoenix, AZ)
A. It is a technique being used mostly by the anti-gun movement, but also by IRS scammers, where they call 911 and claim there have been gunshots or that there is violence going on at some innocent victim’s address.  The cops show up in force, usually with a SWAT team, and the unsuspecting gun owner or the non-compliant IRS scam-target take the brunt of it.  Scary, isn’t it?  Whatever you do, don’t tick off a thug.

Q. I hear Ted Cruz is making every effort to antagonize Donald Trump, as if Cruz was the only guy in the country who can stop Trump?  (LaVerna ~ Colfax, CA)
A. Cruz has called Trump out, saying, “It’s me vs. Trump at this point.”  Look for some wild action on the streets of Tombstone, Arizona in the near future.  Doc Holliday is probably rolling over in his grave as you read this. My God, man!  Hasn't Cruz ever heard of John Kasich?

CLINTON’S WOES

Not only did Hillary get trounced by Bernie in New Hampshire Tuesday, but news leaked out that up to 30 people were sending highly sensitive, classified emails through her private server.  The latest revelation came almost immediately after she got caught in another lie claiming that she was certainly not under investigation, which in turn was followed by an FBI release stating that yes, she is.

COMMENTS:
It’s probably too early to say she’s toast as far as her political aspirations are concerned; maybe Bernie Sanders would like to hire her as his I.T. Director?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Two cops got killed in Maryland.  I suppose Obama will keep his mouth shut because he doesn’t like cops?  (Merle ~ San Luis Obispo, CA)
A. The shooter never should have had a gun in the first place; he had a long criminal history and was wanted in two states.  If Obama doesn’t say anything, it’ll be because he doesn’t want to admit that his illustrious gun control plans only keep guns out of the hands of the innocent.

Q. I hear there’s a war going on at FOX between Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly?  (Rochelle ~ Ogden, UT)
A. Kelly has been acting like a pompous goddess ever since the FOX NEWS hierarchy backed her up over the now infamous Trump showdown.  Right after the Super Bowl, she appeared on the Steven Colbert show and took a shot at O’Reilly.  She’s having a major attack of the “My Poop Doesn’t Stink Syndrome.”   O’Reilly, who nurtured her along in her early days at FOX, is livid.

Q. Whatever happened with that North Korean ICBM launch?  (Norman ~ Larkspur, CA)
A. You will recall the North Koreans were insisting it was a satellite launch; it turns out, that was true.  But, the satellite is useless for anything as it is tumbling through its orbit.  The missile used to launch it, however, has proven itself to be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead to the United States.

NEW ANGLE AT GUN CONTROL?

The rule is that Americans being treated for depression or other mental problems cannot pass a background check to obtain guns.  The United States Preventive Services Task Force recently recommended mandatory depression screening for all Americans.

COMMENTS:
It’s obvious where this is going to lead; a government agency checks the whole country for depression and rules we are not qualified to own guns.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand ABC’s GOP Debate Saturday did better than FOX’s?  (Trudy ~ Annapolis, MD)
A. Yes.  The ABC event was during a traditionally slow Saturday viewing night, garnering 13.2 million viewers, versus 12.5 million for FOX on a traditionally busy Thursday night.  I did not watch the FOX debate due to the way they were treating Trump, but I did watch the ABC debate and am delighted that I did.

Q. Did I hear that FOX declared New Hampshire primary results long before the polls closed?  (Warren ~ Minden, NV)
A. According to FOX, the results gave Trump 28 percent support and 14 delegates, while Marco Rubio came in second place with 15 percent of the vote and 3 delegates.  FOX retracted the report and said it was due to an accident.

Q. Is Ford moving its manufacturing to Mexico?  (Chuck ~ Norman, OK)
A. It is doubling its Mexican production and vastly expanding its plants there.  General Motors is also planning a $5 billion expansion there.  The plans to expand in Mexico started at the same time Obama began ballyhooing his highly unpopular Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal.

HUGE SURGE IN TERRORISTS COMING THROUGH MEXICO?

WSB-TV in Atlanta reports their investigation discovered a leaked secret document showing a spike in people who are from terrorist nations illegally crossing our country’s southern border.

COMMENTS:
Surely, none of them would do us any harm, would they?   I mean, you’re not one of those “Islamophobes” are you?  Fear not; they’re here to protect us.  Yes, siree.  That’s actually probably why Obama is cutting border surveillance in half.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand Obama wants to add a $10 per barrel oil tax?  (Cleotis ~ Baton Rouge, LA)
A. Correct.   He needs the money to fund his global-warming agendas.

Q. What was the ruckus about the audience at the Saturday night debates?  (Jewel ~ Chicago, IL)
A. All of the audience tickets for the debate had been allocated to establishment donors who were obviously anti-Trump, anti-Cruz, etc.  Trump called them down on it and got booed.  Ben Carson said after the debate, “Do I recognize that we have big money involved in just about everything that has to do with politics? Absolutely. Do I detest that? Absolutely. As president, I wouldn’t deal with them either. Obviously, if that is in fact true, I think that’s problematic.”

Q. Did Carson give Cruz the ultimate put-down during the debates or not?  (Candy ~ Pocatello, ID)
A. He was talking about the Cruz ploy in Iowa to claim that Carson was dropping out of the race when, in fact, he wasn’t.  He said that Cruz’s Washington ethics are not his ethics. “We can see what happened, everybody can see what happened and you can make your own judgment.”  Cruz could not muster a comeback.

RADIOACTIVE LEAK

An apparent overflow at the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, 40 miles north of Manhattan, spilled highly radioactive water into an underground monitoring well, but nuclear regulators said the public isn't at risk.  Officials reported on Friday that water contaminated by tritium leaked into the groundwater under the facility. The contamination has reportedly remained contained to the site.

COMMENTS:

Underground water is not stagnant; it moves.  The question is: how fast and where to?  Moreover, why did it leak?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:

Q. I understand there was “almost” a mass-casualty shootout in New Orleans over the weekend?  (Timmy ~ Laredo, TX)
A. A scumbag felon with a gun opened fire on a group of ATV riders, one of which was carrying a concealed weapon.  The good guy fired back, wounding the bad guy and putting an end to the shooting spree.

Q. Are gun sales continuing at high rates like they did in December?  (Stanley ~ Fernley, NV)
A. January wasn’t quite as good as December, but better than January 2015.   This is the ninth record-setting month in a row and the third month in a row with more than 2 million background checks.  It is widely believed that the actual number of guns sold is much higher than the number of background checks.

Q. I understand that Amarillo, Texas is having all kinds of problems with refugees?  (Vance ~ Rancho Santa Fe, CA)
A. Refugees have been given preferential treatment ahead of Americans to get benefits.  There is a huge language problem in the schools and with emergency services.  Crime rates have soared, making Amarillo the firth most dangerous city in Texas with one of the highest rape rates in the country.  And, Obama is just getting started with this crap.

CANADIAN BORDER PROBLEM

Canada has pledged to bring in 50,000 Muslim refugees by the end of the year.  The problem is that our Canadian border is even more porous than the Mexican border.

COMMENTS:
Muslims are our friends.  We don’t need to worry about them; they keep us safe.  Just ask Obama.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How do you feel about ABC News refusing to allow Carly Fiorina on the upcoming debate?  (Eloy ~ Tarzana, CA)
A. If she didn’t make the cut, she didn’t make the cut.  Now, she has some free time to “cut up.”

Q. I’m really ticked off at the Republicans.  They’ve been doing nothing about ObamaCare except talk big talk ever since it was enacted.  In all of this time, they have designed no alternative plan on how to deal with the costs of medical care or people who can’t afford it.  (Satya ~ San Jose, CA)
A. I agree.  They can “talk the talk” but, refuse to “walk the walk.”  They need to take some stimulants.

Q. What do you think about the shootings at a Florida strip club?  (Kerri ~ Portland, OR)
A. Always double and triple check to make absolutely certain your weapon is unloaded before you start to strip it.
