ROMNEYCRATS ATTACK GINGRICH

Washington insiders have been insistent that Romney will be the Republican Party nominee for President ever since the race began.  Now, with Newt Gingrich in the apparent driver’s seat, Tom Coburn came out Sunday on the Chris Wallace show of FOX NEWS attacking Gingrich’s ability to lead the nation.  Coburn claims that Gingrich vacillates from one day to the next and does not have a good leadership style.

COMMENTS:
That is the best argument yet for making sure that Gingrich sews up the nomination.  I cannot imagine that there is one single person in this country, Republican or Democrat, who gives a damn about the “Washington insiders.”  It’s those guys and their culture of irresponsibility and corruption that we citizens need to be hell-bent on removing at all costs.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. We all know what a sad situation our national debt is in.  But, they keep spending and spending and flatly refuse to cut the deficit or debt.  Isn’t there some way we can force them to?  (Charles ~ Phoenix, AZ)
A. Yes.  We can file our tax returns in April and if we owe them any money, we can refuse to pay it until they cut their spending.  Those with refunds will collect them, they won’t have the revenues coming in and they’ll get the message in a big hurry with the cash drain.  There will be some penalties and interest, but it will be worth it if we succeed.  They can’t put us all in jail, either.

Q. Who do you think Herman Cain will endorse?  (Bruce ~ Burney, CA)
A. It won’t be Mitt Romney.  I think he will get behind Newt.  But then again, I thought that the San Diego Padres were going to win the World Series last year, too.

Q. Why are the candidates upset that Donald Trump is going to lead a Presidential debate?  (Jerry ~ Boise, ID)
A. Because they are afraid he might use his pointed little head to ask them pointed little questions they cannot answer.

IRAN SHOOTS DOWN U.S. SPY PLANE?

The WASHINGTON POST reported at 7:14 AM EDT yesterday that Iran is claiming it shot down an unmanned Lockheed-Martin RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone along its eastern border Sunday, Iran time.  This report was subsequently carried as is Sunday night by ABC NEWS.  At post time, the report is not confirmed by U.S. officials, but Iran is claiming the drone is largely intact and has been hauled away for inspection.  According to an unnamed Iranian military official, Iran’s cyber warfare unit managed to take over controls of the drone and bring it down.  Iran also said that such future actions will not be limited to their borders.

COMMENTS:
If we were within their borders, they had a right to shoot it down under international law.  Regardless, I don’t think this President is going to do anything about it except to scream like a wounded banshee.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard through the computer grapevine that hackers can take control of your printer and set it on fire.  Is that true?  (Waldo ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. In some limited cases, yes.  First, they have to get past your internet security software, so keep it up to date.  Second, they can only do this to HP Laser Jet printers, no other type or manufacturer.  Watch what emails you open up and what websites you visit.  This info is courtesy of Kim Komando at www.komando.com.

Q. I read that Donald Berwick, one of Obama’s Czars, has resigned.  He was overseeing Medicare and Medicaid and had strong views opposing healthcare for senior citizens.  Who is taking his place?  (Karen ~ Campbell, CA)
A. Yes, Berwick was appointed by Obama during a Congressional recess because even the Dems didn’t like Berwick.  Now enters Marilyn Tavenner.  When introducing her, Obama said she is going to root out fraud, waste and abuse in the systems.  It should be mentioned that she was formerly a top executive with HCA, which just got hit with one of the biggest fines in history for…. Medicare fraud.

Q. There is a big scare that doctors will not take Medicare patients after January 1st.  Why not?  (Yancey ~ Denver, CO)
A. Due to a 1990’s budget glitch that never got fixed, reimbursements to doctors will go down 27% after January 1st and they are uniformly saying they will not serve Medicare patients thereafter.  Now, I know for a fact that billing Medicare and getting paid are difficult and time consuming tasks that involve extra staff for medical offices to handle.  I don’t blame the doctors for their stance.  It remains to be seen whether or not those jackasses in Congress can fix the problem in time.  Frankly, I doubt it.  And, Obama has very little business telling Congress they might have to stay over Christmas to deal with it when he’s never in Washington himself.  It’s as if he has already abdicated his throne.

TSA: THE GESTAPO MENTALITY

According to THE SIDESHOW, a blog, Vanessa Gibbs was detained by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on a flight from Virginia to Florida due to the appearance of her purse.  "It's my style, it's camouflage, it has an old western gun on it," Gibbs told News4Jax.com. Gibbs didn't run into any trouble while traveling north from Jacksonville International Airport. But on her way back home, TSA officials at Norfolk International Airport pulled her aside.  After TSA agents determined the gun was a fake, Gibbs related that they told her to check the bag or turn it over.  By the time security wrapped up the inspection, the pregnant teen missed her flight, and Southwest Airlines sent her to Orlando instead. Less terrifying is the actual design on the purse, which is only a few inches in size and hollow. "I carried this from Jacksonville to Norfolk, and I've carried it from Norfolk to Jacksonville," Gibbs said. "Never once has anyone said anything about it until now."

COMMENTS:
We’ve heard similar stories before.  Once is bad enough, but the multiple stories adds up to a police mentality reminiscent of Gestapo tactics.  Even more puzzling is the decision to exempt military personnel on travel from the security checks, as if a terrorist wouldn’t show up in military garb with a bomb tucked in his knapsack.  The whole TSA thing, body x-rays and all, needs to be re-examined, preferably by someone who hasn’t just been released from a loony bin or the White House Czar den.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How do you feel about Herman Cain suspending his candidacy?  (Bernice ~ Red Bluff, CA)
A. I’m sad to see him go.  Realistically, however, his campaign was doomed.  I very much hope that he is able to exonerate himself at the expense of those who conspired against him.

Q. I understand they are investigating Jessie Jackson Jr.  What’s the skinny?  (Cal ~ Elko, NV)
A. While undergoing investigation and during trial, Rod Blagojevich alleged that Jackson had tried to buy Obama’s vacant Senate seat.  They are investigating that matter as well as several other charges against Jackson including infidelity.  Like father, like son.

Q. Do you think the Tea Parties will play a major role in the 2012 elections?  (Larry ~ Forks, WA)
A. Yes.  Their popularity has decreased with the constant onslaught by the Left, but I think you will see a resurgence early next year.  And, their ideals and goals are in harmony with what has to be done to save the country.  Send a tea bag to your favorite Congressman for Christmas.

CHINA’S MASSIVE NUCLEAR ARSENAL

The WASHINGTON POST and NEWSMAX are reporting the discovery of a 3,000-mile-long labyrinth of underground tunnels and caves which hides a massive storage of nuclear weapons and missiles.  “One of the findings of the study is that the number of nuclear warheads held by the Chinese could be as many as 3,000. Previous assumptions place the number of warheads as low as 80 and as high as 400,” the Post reported.

COMMENTS:

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now that we are almost three years down the road, do you believe Obama is a natural born U.S. citizen?  (Valentino ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. No natural born U.S. citizen could possibly lead this country the way Obama has.

Q. If Gingrich wins the Republican nomination, will you vote for him against Obama?  (Thelma ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. If any Republican candidate except Romney wins, I will vote for them.  If Romney wins, I’ll be at the bar, drinking.

Q. The unemployment rate dropped to 8.6%.  This is outstanding!  Maybe things are turning around after all!  (Jason ~ Dunsmuir, CA)
A. Figures lie.  The drop is due to two major reasons: (1) the number of people who dropped off the unemployment rolls and just flat quit looking and (2) seasonal hiring for the holidays.  The number of people now unemployed and off the unemployment compensation bandwagon has soared.  Poverty rates have also gone up.  Finally, with this administration, you cannot believe any math presented.

IRAN EMBASSY CLOSURE OVERDUE

The storming of the British Embassy by Iranian students was indeed reminiscent of a similar event involving the U.S. Embassy under Jimmy Carter’s administration.  That led to a very lengthy holding of hostages and a failed attempt to free the hostages by Carter.  They were eventually released as Ronald Regan took office.

COMMENTS:
In this case, thankfully, there are no hostages.  But every Western aligned government with embassies in Iran would be well-advised to get out now.  The Brits have been hanging on because of their ability to get some communication with the Iranian government.  However, if the Israelis take out Iran’s nuclear sites, no Western government is going to be safe behind embassy walls.  The Iranians are not talking much, and when they do it is to stall and lie.  Embassies therefore serve no useful purpose anyway.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. You always belittle the Republicans for not standing strong for their principles.  Don’t you believe in compromise?  Compromise is the only way Congress can get things done, you know.  (Benjamin ~ Fallon, NV)
A. Compromise is a two way street.  The Republicans have been the only party in Washington to compromise anything in 20 years.  Unfortunately, they’ve gotten so used to it that the Democrats have been running roughshod over Congress even when the Republicans were in charge.  Enough is enough.  If the Democrats are unwilling to bend, then the Republicans shouldn't either.

Q. According to the polls, Newt Gingrich can now beat Obama and Obama is lower in the ratings than any previous President.  Do you think Obama will get the message?  (Cherie ~ Shingletown, CA)
A. If Obama was in a room of 1,000 people, and 999 disagreed with him about something, he would think they were all ignorant peasants unworthy of his presence and he would walk out of the room and go do what he wanted.

Q. How are we going to deal effectively with the “Occupy” groups?  (Zack ~ Napa, CA)
A. Those who are peaceful and have sincere beliefs and stands should go form another group.  As for the rest, we should round them all up, throw them into jail and toss the key into the White House swimming pool; Obama loves them so much, he should be made to deal with them.

UNBELIEVABLE! REPUBLICAN STANDS UP, STANDS STRONG & REFUSES TO WAIVER!

Brian Hayes, the only Republican member of the National Labor Relations Boards, (NLRB), threatened to resign from the board if they tried to pass rules that would make it easier for unions to run amok over union members by “streamlining” the election process.  Had he resigned, the NLRB would not have a quorum and would be unable to vote on anything; instead, they vastly changed the language in their regulations and toned it down to apply only in rare instances in small unions.

COMMENTS:
My God, a Republican didn’t waffle in the clutch.  Maybe, just maybe, there’s hope for that party after all.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now, they’ve downgraded the credit standings of five major U.S. banks.  Those five banks control virtually everything that is going on with banking in the country.  Is this ominous or not?  (Pete ~ Stockton, CA)
A. It’s certainly not good.  I keep saying that the economic stability of this country is precarious at best.  And we have a Congress and a President who don’t seem to give a damn.

Q. I can’t believe that John McCain has the audacity to try and pass a Bill that would suspend American jurisprudence and violate the Constitution by giving the Executive Branch the power to have the military detain an American citizen in this country and jail him without trial, simply on the basis that he might be a terrorist.  As I understand it, the proposal was so broad and vague that, if the President decided he didn’t like your blog, he could shut it down and throw you in prison without any hearing or right to trial.  This coming from John McCain?  Did he become a convert to Communism when he was in the POW camp?  (Byron ~ Redding, CA)
A. Well, if the terrorist is not an American citizen, I think he may have a point.  However, and you are right, we have a Constitution and when you’re dealing with an American citizen, we have a right to be charged and a right to trial by our peers.  This is typical of why I was so upset when the Republicans put him up for President.  And, I don’t think Romney is any better, either.  I have three words for them: “Closet progressive liberals.”  Where has reason gone in Washington, anyway?

Q. Facebook is in big trouble over privacy issues and charges that it misled subscribers on the issue.  What do you think?  (Myra ~ Phoenix, AZ)
A. To the dismay of many of my friends, I dropped out of Facebook two months ago.  They, like Netflix, should go out of business for treating their consumers like imbeciles.  They are having an IPO next year and I wouldn’t touch it with a 13-foot pole.
