WILL FOX NEWS GO OFF THE AIR?

Media Matters has accumulated a $10 million war chest and is going after companies which advertise on the FOX NEWS CHANNEL to pressure them into stopping their advertising and thereby to force Fox off the air.  Fox has more viewers than all other cable news companies put together.

COMMENTS:
If we lose Fox, we lose the only source of reliable news available to us.  I have my differences with the network, but it is by far more balanced than any other network as shown by its ratings.  This is another overt attempt on the part of the liberal left to limit what we, the overwhelming majority according to ratings, hear and to control our lives.  As scary as it might sound, the day may be coming when we have to literally battle for our freedoms again, freedoms that were won by our forefathers and taken away by our government and our own lack of vigilance.

TODAY’S QUERIES AND ANSWERS:
Q. I understand Starbucks is leading a boycott against political contributions?  (Milo ~ San Francisco, CA)
A. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz pledged he would not contribute a dime until Congress and the President agree on a long-term solution to the debt and deficit crisis.  Over 100 major U.S. companies are now backing him up.  We’re talking big bucks that the campaigns will not be seeing this season unless they stop with the bull and get the job done.  Maybe Obama won’t reach his $1 billion campaign goal after all?

Q. I understand that there will be no religious officials and no prayers offered at the WTC Memorial dedication services.  Why?  (Theo ~ Pittsburg, CA)
A. Because that’s the way Mayor Bloomberg wants it.  And, by the way, he’s the main guy behind approval of the Mosque to be built just down the street.

Q. I heard 28 people were killed in a Monterrey, Mexico casino?  I didn’t even know they had casinos in Mexico.  (Char ~ Fall River Mills, CA)
A. Yes, the Casino Royale in Monterrey, among others.  A dozen or so gunmen stormed the place, shot it up and set fire to it, trapping dozens of people inside.  It is believed this was related to the growing drug cartel activity in the area, and was the first time an entertainment venue has been targeted for such violence.  Stay out of Mexico and don’t drink their water.

CBO: ECONOMIC PROBLEMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH 2014

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has announced that our national economic problems will continue at least through 2014, given current trends. This includes a predication that unemployment will continue at levels above 8.0% through at least that period.

COMMENTS:
The key language here is “given current trends.”  That means that as long as Obama and friends are in charge, we’re screwed.

TODAY’S QUERIES AND ANSWERS:
Q. I heard yesterday that new EPA rules will force the closure of several major coal-fired electrical generating facilities, thereby causing power shortages and blackouts.  That’s criminal.  What’s EPA’s stance on the power shortages? (Norm ~ Reno, NV)
A. “We don’t manufacture electricity.  You can talk to the Department of Energy about that, but our rules will be met.”

Q. How bad is the housing situation?  (Marguerite ~ Beverly Hills, CA)
A. Overall, it’s in the worst situation it has been in since the Great Depression.  The trend over the last 4-5 months is down, down, down.  That means it is likely to get worse.  I believe we are entering a depression if we are not already there.

Q. Who on the potential Republican Presidential list do you think can resolve our economic woes?  (Lew ~ Palo Cedro, CA)
A. Any one of them, Cain being the best qualified.

EARTHQUAKE RATTLES WASHINGTON, DC

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered 40 miles northwest of Richmond, Virginia forced evacuation of some federal offices in Washington and surrounding areas.  The most recent larger recorded quake in the area was 5.9 at Giles County, Virginia in 1897.

COMMENTS:
Obama was on the golf course when it hit, (but did he sink the putt?).  I’ve always said God would get even with those guys in Washington, and maybe this is the beginning.  If Obama had been there when it happened instead of Martha’s Vineyard, he most certainly would have parted the waters of the Potomac and led everybody to safety.

TODAY’S QUERIES AND ANSWERS:
Q. I’ve noticed, particularly on Fox, that the interviewers keep interrupting and not letting people finish what they are saying.  I think that is rude and crude.  What do you think?  (Loretta ~ Boise, ID)
A. They claim that it is because they have a right to respond to what the interviewee is saying, or that they need to keep the dialog focused, or that some people get carried away.  Whatever the reason, I agree with you.  It is rude and crude and I, too, notice it on Fox more than any other channel.  If they don’t want to hear what the interviewees have to say, why have them on?  I’m just about to the point that I would rather watch MTV.

Q. What do you make of Maxine Waters telling the Tea Party to “go to hell?”  (Arnie ~ Redding, CA)
A. That just goes to show how small-minded all of those left-wing liberals really are.  I’m surprised Obama hasn’t said it, although Pelosi has come close.  They are afraid of the Tea Parties and, instead of confronting their fears on a measured and rational basis, they lose it.  How someone with a brain that size can ever be elected to Congress, I will never know.  The Tea Parties, on the other hand, are gaining strength as the rest of America comes to the realization that those of us who love our country and want it back share the same thoughts, opinions and goals as the Tea Parties do.  So, they can demonize all they want; let them dig their own piles of dung.

Q. When things first started to go bad in late 2008, banks started to fail and the number of failures was high in 2009 and even 2010, but I haven’t heard how things stand now.  Do you know?  (Eugenia ~ Norwalk, CA)
A. According to the FDIC, the number of “problem” banks fell, plummeted, skidded down from 888 in the 1st quarter to 865 in the 2nd quarter and Obama was so excited he decided to vacation at Martha’s Vineyard.  They surely spin these reports, don’t they?  865 banks in trouble in this nation is scary, to say the least, particularly with four straight months of declining housing sales, high unemployment, debt degrading, high deficit, and a government that is incapable of doing anything about it.

CHINA QUITS BUYING U.S. DEBT?

China buys U.S. Treasury debt to help finance the U.S. economy so Western consumers will buy goods made in China.  But less demand here due to our declining economy leaves the Asian giant little choice but to export less, buy more at home and stop buying U.S. debt.  This means that the U.S. will have to pay higher interest rates to other countries to finance our government.

COMMENTS:
Aren’t you really proud of that damned sham of a deal Congress passed before going on vacation?  Aren’t you really proud to be an American?  Now, if we ever DO decide to pay down our debt, it will take longer.  Maybe we should just let the country go over the cliff and down the damned drain.  Then we can convert to socialism and our pain and agony will be over.  Hail to the new Premier, Barack Hussein Obama.  Frankly, we need another major march on Washington, and this time we need to make it abundantly clear that we have had enough and we want our country back.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. There are people out there who have been jobless for two years or more.  Now, the economy is taking another major turn for the worse.  How will they ever get a job again?  (Cecil ~ Houston, TX)
A. Well, the longer you are unemployed, the tougher it is to find work even in good times.  You lose job skills, technology moves ahead without you, and potential employers think you are a loser.  Unless something changes soon, these circumstances are likely to leave a scar on the nation unheralded since the Great Depression. This is not the American way.

Q. I read the other day that U.S. Congress Members who violate the laws or ethics and get tossed out on their ears still collect a pension for the rest of their lives.  I know for a fact that if you are a retired military officer and you do those things, you can lose your military pension.  What gives?  (Buck ~ Salinas, CA)
A. Congress makes the rules.  Good old pal Anthony Weiner will get $40,000 a year.  Rob Blagojevich, the convicted Illinois Governor, spent eight years in Congress and will collect $15,000 a year.  Such pensions total over $1 million a year.  Tell me Congress is not corrupt.

Q. Who was “Roe” in Roe vs. Wade?  Is it true that she is now advocating for pro-life?  (Carla ~ Weed, CA)
A. Her real name is Norma McCovey and you are right; she’s staunchly pro-life.  She’s in an upcoming movie, “DOONBY.” She lives in a small town in Texas.

QADDAFI BITES THE DUST?

At blog press time last night, it appeared that Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi has split the scene.  No one knows exactly where he has gone, but one of his sons has been arrested and a daughter has defected to the rebel cause.

COMMENTS:
Now comes what Obama did not tell you when he committed us to a one-month excursion in Libya against the wishes of Congress.  NATO will undoubtedly move in to provide stability to the region and rebuilding of the country and its infrastructure will begin.  NATO, which is really a paper tiger under U.S. control, will chip in hundreds of billions of dollars which we will provide, of course.  All of the sudden, that $14.6 trillion deficit we have is going to rise to well over $15.6 trillion when you throw in the President’s “new” stimulus plans.  And the Super Committee of 12 hasn’t even met yet.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I saw somewhere that if Obama is not stopped, we will have a deficit of $800 trillion in 20 years.  My God, how can that be?  (Merlyn ~ Layton, UT)
A. You didn’t hear it correctly.  It’s 800% of gross national product.  I don’t know, however, that it makes a difference; we’ll still be in deep doo doo.

Q. Can Obama possibly win a second term?  (Sandie ~ Anderson, CA)
A. Yes, if enough people vote for him.  The problem here is that about 50% of the country falls into the category of unemployed, under-employed, retired, on disability, on welfare or in other ways on the government dole.  Obama wants to give them more money.  How do you think they and the illegal aliens are going to vote?

Q. The stock market woes are fueling economic fears.  This whole debacle seems to be spiraling out of control. What could Obama possibly say to reverse this ominous trend?  (Henry ~ Portland, OR)
A. “I resign.”

OBAMA’S SECRET NEW PLAN!

President Obama left Washington shortly after announcing that he has a new plan to tackle the economy and jobs and that he will reveal in after he returns from his Martha’s Vineyard Vacation in September.  Nevertheless, some “trial balloon” details have leaked out, such as his plan to spend $300 billion on “shovel ready projects.”  He also plans to extend unemployment benefits and that cut in payroll taxes, a total of over $500 billion in new and un-budgeted spending.

COMMENTS:
I think he smoked too much pot in college.  We all know that he tried these "terrific ideas" and they did not work.  He has no clue.  He certainly does not belong in the White House and more and more people who staunchly defended him two years ago are now realizing, and willing to admit, that they made a mistake.  It’s nothing to be embarrassed about; we’ve all made our share of mistakes in life.  Let’s just not repeat it.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand there’s a “poison water” spreading in the U.S. (Larry ~ Albuquerque, NM)
A. It’s not exactly poison water, but it is water carrying a deadly amoeba that leads to primary amoebic meningoencephalitis stemming from a brain-eating amoeba.  The free-living amoeba gets up the nose, burrows up into the skull and destroys brain tissue. It's found in warm lakes and rivers during the hot summer months, mostly in the South.  Now, don't forget to drink your eight glasses of water every day.

Q. I was reading somewhere that the number of sightings of UFO’s had dramatically increased in the last few weeks.  Is that true?  (Mindy ~ San Diego, CA)
A. Yes, including your neck of the woods.  I think the time may be coming, within the next few years, when they will reveal who they are and why they are here.  Let’s all pray that they are not all radical left wing Democrats.

Q. What’s this about aliens attacking Earth to stop global warming?  (Leonard ~ Colville, WA)
A. One guy in a team of researchers studying scenarios where aliens might attack us has envisioned they may be so appalled by our environmental treatment of our planet that they fear pollution of the universe.  I wonder if the United States Government is funding this “research” and what they are smoking for lunch.

OBAMA GIVES AMNESTY TO ILLEGALS!

Congress has failed to enact a law that would give legal status to illegal alien children from Mexico upon completion of two years of college or military service; under the plan, they would get preferential treatment to go to college.   President Obama and Attorney General Holder have announced that they will review illegal status for those slated for deportation on a “case-by-case” basis to determine if they should be granted legal status.  This maneuver flies in the face of what Congress has refused to enact and amounts to "case-by-case" amnesty.

COMMENTS:
WHEN IS THIS NATION GOING TO WAKE UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT THIS IMBECILE IS DOING TO OUR COUNTRY?  It's also obvious what this sets up; enough money paid under the table will get you amnesty.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard the other day that IBM is developing a chip that behaves like the human brain.  Do you think that a computer robot could ever replace the President or other governmental officers?  (Penelope ~ Laramie, WY)  A. Nothing could replace Barack Obama and we’d all be better off.  Besides, chips don't have the ability for human cognition.

Q. Why did Obama buy his tour bus in Canada instead of the United States?  (Shirley ~ Redding, CA)
A. Now that he's securing the Mexican vote through his illegal amnesty program, he’s hoping to get Canadians to vote in the next Presidential election as well.

Q. I am so worried about the economy.  My parents who lived through the Great Depression warned me that there would be another Great Depression in my lifetime, and I am so afraid that we are there.  Our so-called leaders have deaf ears and do not understand and I don’t know what to do.  (David ~ Boise, ID)
A. Cling on to your money, your guns and your religion; keep your money in a bank that was not affected in 2008 or 2009, that has stability.  I like US Bank, for example.  Don’t buy anything that is not absolutely necessary and don’t buy any big ticket items.  If your car breaks down, get it repaired or buy a reliable used car for cash.  No big vacations; stay close to home.  Start stocking up on food of the variety you can store for awhile, such as canned and dry goods.  Pay down some debt.  Be proactive; look for ways to create extra income for savings right now.  Above all, start looking for good, energetic, honest and patriotic politicians to stand behind and vote for in 2012 who can replace the ones we have, both Democrat and Republican.

BIDEN STARTS BRAWL IN CHINA

Vice President Joe Biden has been visiting China on a trade mission and was in the midst of a long speech at a meeting when Chinese officials started to force members of the press out of the room.  "Stern shooing turned into forceful shoving," according to pool reporter Michael Memoli of the Los Angeles Times.  "As reporters tried to stand their ground, Chinese officials locked arms and pushed forward in a show of overwhelming force" that turned into a virtual shoving brawl. Reports are that the officials were upset at the length of Biden's speech.

COMMENTS:
Those White House guys really do know how to win friends and influence people, don’t they? Biden’s most recent other notable event was when he fell asleep during one of Obama’s infrequent speeches in April.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is all of the flap over Obama’s announcement that he is going to speak to the nation about the economy and his new “jobs program” after Labor Day?  (Lonnie ~ Campbell, CA)
A. Well, there are those who justifiably say that the nation has too many unemployed people who have been out of work for way too long and waiting to reveal the program is unethical and unkind.  Others suggest that he hasn’t yet written such a plan so he cannot reveal it.  Still others say that the plan has nothing new or of substance in it, so he wants to stall it.  Whatever the reason for the delay, Obama had no business telling people he had a plan until he was ready to release it.  You just don’t do those things in real life.

Q. I hear Hewlett Packard may be getting out of the PC business?  What about printers?  (Oliver ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. They are discontinuing making smart phones and tablet computers and may get out of the PC business altogether by selling off that division.  I don’t know about printers, but would presume them to be part of the PC Division; I have always had good experiences with HP printers myself.  The smart phone and tablet computer markets are tough markets and I don’t blame them for getting out of those products.  But, the word is that they think they can become another IBM, dealing mainly in software and computer mainframes.

Q. Morgan Stanley came out yesterday and said we are on the very verge of a severe economic recession.  When are we going to get someone in Washington who can feel the pain this country is going through?  (Pedro ~ Walnut Creek, CA)
A. Morgan Stanley has been around a long time and has a decent reputation in making economic forecasts.  Our economy has not only been badly battered, but we do not have the leadership in Washington to do anything about it.  This is largely the situation we were in before the Great Depression.  I don’t like the way things are looking for anyone.  The real answers seem to lie with a better business climate to stimulate hiring and investment, and Obama seems bound and determined to prevent that from happening.  It is a fact that no country with a good economy has ever been converted to Socialism.
