FEDERAL RESERVE ADDS HEAT TO BUDGETARY CRISIS

The Federal Reserve has announced that it has begun planning for the doomsday scenario, where the U.S. defaults on its debt.  "We are in contingency planning mode," Charles Plosser said in an interview at the regional central bank's headquarters in Philadelphia. "We are all engaged. ... It's a very active process."  In the meanwhile, two meetings took place at the White House yesterday after President Obama demanded the appearance of top members of both parties.

COMMENTS:
And Nancy Pelosi, upon ducking out of John Boehner’s office late yesterday, indicated they were close to a deal and all they had to work out was how much they were going to raise revenues and stick it to the American public which, by the way, had absolutely nothing to do with creating this mess. What I want to know is (1) What about all of that money that other nations owe us and (2) What happened to the $387 billion in TARP money that was never allocated or returned to the treasury?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you believe the Tea Party is being too hard-nose and unyielding in its positions on the deficit and debt ceiling?  (Wilbur ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. When you’re dealing with snakes, you’d best not blink. Let us not forget that we just were told, a few months ago, about a $300 billion budget cut for FY 2011 that turned out to be $100 million after the deal was done.  You can’t trust them and you can’t give them an inch or they will take a mile.  There is already some talk around Washington that the Democrats are taking cuts that were going to occur anyway and counting them as part of the figure, just like they did the last time.  We’ve come too far; we need to hold the course.  I don’t understand how O’Reilly and friends can criticize the Republicans for being too weak-kneed one day and then criticize them for being too hard-nosed the next.

Q. I understand that S&P and Moody’s are threatening that if there are not $4 trillion in budget cuts established within 90 days, they are going to lower our bond ratings.  Where do they get off threatening the government that way?  (Maude ~ Redding, CA)
A. There has to be some reasoned methodology for determining the value of bonds and other securities.  There are financial recipes and formulas involved and both firms specialize in making these predictions and judgments.  It is to our benefit that they warn us in advance that things are not looking good so that we have the opportunity to make adjustments.  Besides, I think there is a realistic possibility that the downgrading could happen much sooner than 90 days.  Don’t kill the messenger.

Q. Why doesn’t Obama just come to grips with reality and resolve these problems?  (David ~ Ogden, UT)
A. Because Obama IS the problem.

OBAMA’S ANGER PROVES HE IS UNFIT FOR PRESIDENCY

I had the routine format ready to go for today, but Obama’s tirade last night really ticks me off.  Up here in Burney country, we’d deal with this situation by running him out of town… on a rail if we had one left.  Maybe we would tar and feather him in the process.

Enough, Barack Hussein Obama, is enough.  We’ve had it up to our ears with you, the son-of-a-bitch, and we’re not going to take it anymore.

You griped about calling John Boehner and not getting a return telephone call.  Well, excuse me, Mr. President… and you may be the President of the United States… but the way you have been acting, I wouldn’t return your call, either.  In fact, I’d have my “Do Not Disturb” signal for any calls from you.

How dare you, without your own plan and totally in the dark, point the finger of blame at anyone when you have no talking points or position from which to compromise or participate.  This budget thing… It’s your budget to run the country by.  Anytime anyone had a business to run or a government entity to run, they actively participate in the creation of a budget; they do not sit in their Oval Offices and point their ugly fingers at any one. They do not shuck and duck.   Obviously, you no longer think you are the Messiah, you consider yourself to be God on the face of the Earth and far more influential than even Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

How dare you blame the Republicans for seniors not being able to make ends meet when you are the Captain of 9.2% unemployment rate over a 30 month period and you have done absolutely nothing, nothing to resolve that issue.  Yes, you spent billions of dollars of our money against our will and advice and all you got out of that was a higher debt? And now, in the face of the crisis over which you should preside, but obviously are not, your answer is to spend more money?

Talk about change, you have changed the methodology of the Democratic Party from Tax and Spend to Spend and Tax!

Leaders don’t get in front of the country and rain down hell upon the masses.  Leaders do not tell lies.  Leaders contribute to the common good with positive ideas and encouragement.  Leaders do not demand anything of anyone; leaders lead because people subscribe to their way of doing things and they achieve because their positive leadership carries the day.

You, sir, are a liar, a coward, a total disgrace to the office which you hold, and a pissant.  If you are truly an American, you will leave office now and let us get on with the business of healing the nation and meeting our responsibilities in a just and forthright way.

We stand united, against you. Your intolerance and bigotry can no longer be justifiably tolerated.

U.S. COURT INTERPRETER KILLED IN MEXICO

A Texas court interpreter who was kidnapped earlier this month has been found dead in Mexico; relatives failed to pay a $10,000 ransom. He is said to have traveled over the border to have work done on his car.  His body was found near Ciudad Juarez, bound with duct tape and stabbed repeatedly.  Three suspects have been caught.

COMMENTS:
There is some more detail to the story, but it boils down to opportunists who thought they could extract money from the family of an American citizen.  I need to emphasize: any American who travels to Mexico from the U.S. is asking for it and it is obvious that our government doesn’t care.  Don’t even worry about drinking the water; just don’t go there.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I see that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Maria Shriver, is asking for support. How much?  (Billie ~ Carson City, NV)
A. I don’t know how much, but they both have more money than God.  She had her own niche in the news and entertainment industry as well as her share of the Kennedy fortune; he has all of his movie royalties and a huge investment income.  They did not have a prenuptial agreement and it is expected they will have an out-of-court settlement unless, of course, the mistress decides to butt in.

Q. Isn’t this national heat wave proof of global warming?  (Jan ~ Santa Clara, CA)
A. It’s not the worst heat wave we have ever had and we just had a long and cold winter in much of the U.S.  The weather is constantly changing due to the effects of El Nino and La Nina, among other things.  I don’t think it is indicative of anything.  If there is going to be any other impact on weather in the Americas, I think it will be due to some impact of all of that oil which is still there in the gulf, much of it below the surface. Out of sight, out of mind.

Q. What do you think of the big blow up between Debbie Wasserman Schults and Allen West?  Isn’t this all “conduct unbecoming Congressmen?”  (Teddy ~ Big Bear, CA)
A. She deserved it.  Her inflammatory rhetoric IS unbecoming a lady.  I don’t think West should have called her “vile and despicable,” however.  I would have just referred to her as a “bitch.”  It’s a trait that seems to run in the far-left verbal-attack brigade, most of whom are really upset because they wanted the honor of being called the most vile and despicable.

“Is it a violation of the House rule wherein members are not permitted to make disparaging references to the President of the United States?  In two previous gentlemen’s statements on the amendment, both of them referred to the Affordable Care Act, which is the accurate title of the health care reform law, as ‘ObamaCare.’  That is a disparaging reference to the President of the United States.  … It is clearly in violation of House rules against that.” ~ Debbie Wasserman Schults

FINANCIAL NEWS CONTINUES TO WORSEN

Yahoo.com has announced lower than expected earnings in the second Quarter of 2011 and share are ominously down.

COMMENTS:
Things are going to get much worse, and I see no signs of things getting better until we get rid of Barack Hussein Obama.  When that happens, I expect an immediate upswing in all factors of the economy.  The only question remaining is whether or not you want to do it now or to wait for four more years.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Obama is really putting on the muscle regarding the debt/deficit crisis.  But, I don’t see him coming with a plan of his own, just mean and spiteful remarks about those working on the problem.  What do you say?  (Gladys ~ East Wendover, UT)
A. He has no plan.  He doesn’t want to have a plan.  If he has a plan, it might fail.  If he makes others have a plan and their plans fail, he can be a meany about it.  Frankly, I think Obama needs a fall.  He needs to fail in Geithner’s August 2nd deadline; I don’t care if it is only by a day.  He gets very angry under such circumstance and the American public really needs to see the anger that this would-be dictator can deliver.  Then, maybe, we can understand why he needs to be removed.

Q. FOX says that sixteen suspected members of a computer hacking group called "Anonymous" were arrested yesterday in states across the country from California to New York.  The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into Anonymous, which has claimed responsibility for numerous cyber attacks against a variety of websites, including Visa and MasterCard.  These guys are in the U.S. and I thought hacking was done in China, Russia and Nigeria.  Is this a serious domestic problem?  (Gary ~ Mesa, AZ)
A. Who says that all criminals live in certain areas of the world?  Who says that hackers can’t cross the border and set up residency here?  Don’t be naïve; think outside of the boxer shorts.

Q. Would Romney be a good President? (Ford ~ Hartford, CT)
A. He would be an acceptable President and certainly better than what we have now. In that sense, he would be good for the country.  Is he the best choice among currently announced candidates?  No.  He should be near the bottom of the heap.

OBAMA MAY HAVE "SALTED" SUPREME COURT

With the Health Care question heading to the Supreme Court, it now appears that President Obama may have picked Elena Kagan to be a Justice due to her past associations with the matter and her vocal support against those who have been trying to prevent its implementation.  “When President Barack Obama signed the healthcare bill into law, Kagan was still serving as his solicitor general and was responsible for defending the administration’s position in federal court cases.  In one series of email exchanges between Kagan and staffers, her top deputy says about legal challengers to Obamacare: ‘Let’s crush them,’” according to a NEWSMAX investigation.  She is now in a position to vote when the cases hit the Supreme Court.

COMMENTS:
The more we learn about our President, the more we love him, right?  Aren’t you proud of yourselves for voting for him?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I turned on the TV yesterday and every damned channel was filled with Rupert Murdock and hearings in London.  Good God, who cares?  (Mindy ~ Redding, CA)
A. It keeps the heat off of Obama, doesn’t it?  It also keeps us from worrying what I going on in Iran, Iraq, Syria, North Korea, Mexico and Congress.  And, it’s helping Casey to escape the reality of what she has done.  Besides, don’t you just love those British accents?

Q. With all of the continuing bad economic news and political bull in Washington, how come the stock market is not in the toilet?  (Jessica ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. Because Tim Geithner is using billions of left over TARP money to manipulate the market?  Considering the terrible shape the whole world economy is in, I would not be surprised.  Nor would I be surprised if the profits were being siphoned off into a secret Swiss bank account.  That’s my best guess; I can’t figure it out, either.

Q. Yesterday, you reported on Cisco layoffs and the closing of Borders, but I didn’t hear a word about it in the news.  That’s big news; why is it not being covered?  (Lard ~ Truckee, CA)
A. Obama doesn’t need any more bad economic news.  Newspapers and the media are controlled by Obama.  Get the picture?  Never has it been more important for us than now to understand that what we read and what we hear is not necessarily the truth, the whole truth or anything resembling the truth.

OBAMA REFUSES TO PLAY BALL

Calling the Republican bill to cap spending and reduce the deficit in exchange for raising the debt limit unacceptable, Obama told the Republicans not to bother passing the legislation because he will veto it anyway.  Obama has not come forth with his own plan and is refusing to discuss alternatives when they are put forth.  Republicans say they will vote on the bill today and Obama can take the heat if he decides to go ahead and veto it.

COMMENTS:
I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again.  When he got up and walked out of talks last week, he showed his true colors.  He’s an asshole.  If it upsets the White House or the left for me to call him an asshole, that’s their problem, not mine.  He is not a President, he is not a leader; he’s an asshole.  He’s refusing to negotiate in good faith.  He’s refusing to do what this country wants done.  He’s a blight on the country and a shame to his race.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now I hear that tech giant Cisco is about to lay off thousands of employees.  What’s going on? (Freda ~ Los Gatos, CA)
A. Yes, they are laying off about 6,500 employees.  Their profits have been suffering and their stockholders are getting antsy.  I look for a parade of such announcements in the coming weeks; in fact, Borders has announced it is closing all stores, laying off all employees and going into full liquidation.  Gold is at record highs.  We sure have a great leader in the White House, don’t we?  I know that things are going to get much, much worse, but I honestly feel so badly for the millions of people who are out of work and have no hope.

Q. The investigation into those highly illegal sales of guns and ammo to Mexican drug cartels at the behest of the ATF is being stonewalled by Eric Holder and the Justice Department.  Why?  (Pedro ~ Coronado del Mar, CA)
A. Some of the high ranking people involved are political appointees… friends of Obama.

Q. I was reading that the federal government helped fund a study that examined what effect a gay man's penis size has on his sex life.  Why are they spending our hard-earned money on this garbage?  (Ashley ~ Ukiah, CA)
A. Obviously, what is important to Obama and his Administration is vastly different than what is important to you.

DEBT-DEFICIT MAY BE NEAR A SOLUTION?

Word is leaking out that a deal may finally be in the works in Washington.  The House “Cut, Cap and Balance” plan is on center stage with a new wrinkle.  The Republicans may agree to raise the Deficit ceiling after Congress passes a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution to be sent to the states for ratification.  However, the Democrats are already talking the proposal down and pushing a bill to allow Obama to use Executive Privilege to raise the debt ceiling without any Congressional approval or budgetary constraints.

COMMENTS:
May they all rot in Hell.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think we have heard the last of Casey Anthony?  (Wally ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. She’s a pathological liar.  I give it two years before she’s in deep criminal legal problems again.  She really needs psychological help desperately, but I’m sure she doesn’t think so.

Q. Herman Cain came out and said that communities have the right to ban mosques. Doesn’t that fly in the face of civil and religious liberties?  (Vince ~ Redding, CA)
A. From a Constitutional standpoint, I understand where you are coming from and agree.  But, how would you feel if the Hells Angeles set up camp on private land across the street from you?  What if Mexican drug gangs took over the house behind you and turned it into a crack house?  What if Hezbollah settled in next door?  They are using our great Constitutional provisions against us, and we may need to amend it to provide for banning such things.  The world has changed and we need to change our government with it.  We could start by abolishing the Presidency…

Q. What is going on with Tiger Woods’ ex-wife, Elin Nordegren?  (Millie ~ Corte Madera, CA)
A. Well, hang on to your hat.  She is reportedly dating the former boyfriend of one of Tiger’s mistresses.  What a world we live in!

VANISHING RETIREMENT

As the American economy continues to fall apart, as unemployment remains at continuing historical highs, as housing values head for the basement, more and more Americans are realizing that the “golden” years have gone away, leaving their 401k’s drained, savings gone, and housing in danger.  A record number of Americans now know that they will not be able to afford a comfortable retirement at a reasonable age.  This means that Americans must either work longer or turn to the public coffers for help.

COMMENTS:
With the debt ceiling going up and America’s long-term debt prospects growing dimmer, it is highly likely that these problems will continue to grow over the coming decades.  Yet, we have a Washington atmosphere that continues to play politics with unemployment and the national debt instead of doing what is best for the country.  We need to come to grips with reality now, and prepare to throw the bastards out.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Your language is growing more colorful with each blog post.  Just the other day, by the way, you made an off-color remark about President Obama and America finding out what is “true color” really is.  What gives?  (Irma ~ Cottonwood, AZ)
A. Well, everything this Administration is doing to our country aggravates the hell out of me.  Believe me, I tone things down from what I am really thinking.  As for the Obama remark, I meant to type “colors” and left off the “s” making it appear racist.  Showing one’s “true colors” is not racist.  My apologies to the President for the off-color mistake.  Since I like Herman Cain for President right now, that should settle the issue.

Q. Netflix just jacked up my monthly bill by 60%.  When I tried to call them, their lines were busy and there is no way you can email them.  What’s the skinny?  (Jocelyn ~ Burney, CA)
A. Corporate greed has reared its ugly head.  Their expenses have not increased.  Their arrangement with the Post Office has not changed and streaming videos doesn’t cost any more.  They know they are in the wrong and they don’t care to hear your griping, so they make it impossible to reach them.  A company spokesman recently refused to adequately explain the price hikes.  They need to go bankrupt; I too cancelled my subscription.

Q. I’ve noticed that the tone of your responses lately is a little meaner and nastier.  Why?  (Normajean ~ Susanville, CA)
A. The evil doers in Congress and the White House have upset me.  They have no regard for what the public wants and they openly defy the will of the people.  They have the nation ready to get on their Harleys and ride through the halls and back rooms of Washington.  Vrooom.  Vrooom!  A new vrooom sveeps clean!
