BIG SURPRISE: MOST AMERICANS THINK GOVERNMENT TOO POWERFUL

The number of American who are fed up with the size and power of our government has reached an all-time high.  Almost 61% of Americans want our government trimmed down.

COMMENTS:
Most Americans under George Bush thought the government was just the right size.  The 61% who think our government is too big for its britches should start voting.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think the only reason Ted Cruz is raising hell over ObamaCare is because he wants to run for President in 2016?  (Megyn ~ North Hollywood, CA)
A. No.  I do believe that the only reason McCain and other “old guard” Republicans oppose him is because they fear that if he should happen to win  the ObamaCare fight, he could win the Presidency in 2016, thereby short-circuiting Chris Christie or Jeb Bush who they favor.

Q. What is your opinion of Obama’s speech to the U.N. [yesterday]?  (Errol ~ Glendale, AZ)
A. It was too long and, like most of his speeches, flamboyant bullshit.

Q. Rand Paul thinks the Supreme Court Justices should also be required to be on ObamaCare.  Why should anyone be excepted?  (Porky ~ Salem, OR)
A. What’s fair for members of Congress and their staffs should be fair for the Supreme Court and their staffs.  Regular Americans like you and me should not have any special privileges because all we do is pay taxes.

LERNER SLITHERING AWAY?

Lois Lerner, the famed I.R.S. boss who stood before Congress and proclaimed her innocence just before taking the Fifth Amendment, that sweet gal whose emails are full of evidence to the contrary, the gal who was placed on administrative leave at full salary last May… has announced she is going to retire.  It is unclear whether or not Congress will be able to put her back on the grill and to demand some answers.

COMMENTS:
Here we go again… yet another scandal for which Americans will never get the answer.  Add it to Benghazi and Fast & Furious.  Isn’t our “transparent Obama democracy” a wondrous thing?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The word coming from the Capitol Hill is that any government shutdown will destroy national security. What’s your opinion on that?  (Denny ~ Lacey, WA)
A. Here we go with the scare tactics again.  Remember when they said the U.S. was going to fall off the face of the earth if Sequestering kicked in?  I don’t know about you, but I didn’t even feel or notice a blip.  I think the specter of Obama demanding an unpopular ObamaCare to the extent that he’s willing to shut down the government to preserve it will force an early end to any shutdown.

Q. What do you think this Kenyan attack by Somalian rebels and Al Qaeda operatives portends?  (Angie ~ Lewiston, ID)
A. I see more of the same coming in various nations, including ours.  I see fewer large attacks and more localized, difficult-to- detect-and-intercept car bombings and similar attacks on “soft” targets.  In the meanwhile, Obama is busy trying to disarm us.

Q. Now I hear that Muslims are demanding that their holidays be added to school days off?  Where is this all going to end?  (Benji ~ Richmond, CA)
A. It’ll end with three days of school per year, and holidays will include Gay Thursdays; Mulsim, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Pagan, etc. holidays; Asian, Mexican, Russian, etc. holidays; dog days, cat cays, and turtle days; Mao’s birthday, Lenin’s, Hitler’s, Chavez’   etc., etc., etc.  I think it’s about time we all grabbed our guns and Bibles and ran these radical twerps out of the country.

PALIN LAMBASTES GOP

Sarah Palin called the GOP “gutless and rudderless” over the weekend.  “The permanent political class is handwringing and howling that if there’s a government shutdown the media will blame Republicans for it. Here’s a little newsflash, GOP establishment: Whenever anything bad happens, the media blames Republicans for it. That’s not an excuse to roll over and play dead.”

COMMENTS:
I agree, wholeheartedly.  The Republican hierarchy is virtually afraid of its own shadow, scared to death that Pelosi or Reid or Obama might say something nasty about them.  That’s the reason we’re stuck with ObamaCare and a host of other “changes” initiated by Obama.  That’s the reason Obama ignores the Constitution at will and dictates “in your face” Executive Orders against Congressional wishes… and gets away with it.  That’s why we don’t know the answers to Fast & Furious, Benghazi and the litany of scandals.  That’s why no one asked the tough questions when they called in Hillary to testify.  It’s about time the gutless got out of the way and made room for people who truly believe in our country and who believe in doing what is right, no matter how tough or unpleasant it might be.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. It seems like a lot of major companies, including Trader Joe's and the Home Depot, are dropping insurance coverage for their employees and forcing them onto the ObamaCare exchanges.  Doesn’t this violate Obama’s “You can keep the coverage you currently have” pledge?  (Trinity ~ Los Angeles, CA)
A. Just about every promise Obama made on this legislation has been broken.  Let us not forget that when it was passed in the middle of the night without being read, 70% of Americans were against it.  They passed it anyway.  Let me repeat: They passed it anyway.  Now, they’re going to make you eat it.  So suck it up.  If you don’t like it, tell them, not me.

Q. The Muslims are demanding a seat on the Security Council of the U.N.?  (Jeanette ~ Lodi, CA)
A. Yes.  The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's secretary-general is claiming that the 1.6 billion Muslims represented by their organization are entitled to a permanent seat on the Security Council.  The Council now has five permanent members with veto power — the United States, Russia, China, Britain, and France — and 10 non-permanent members serving two-year terms.  The Muslims are demanding a permanent seat with veto power.  I guess that, if they don’t get it, Jihad will spread around the globe.  Now, that is a serious threat that we need to start thinking about today.
Q. Obama has accused the Republicans of trying to “mess with me.”  To me, that sounds like a three-year-old kid in the sandbox.  (Cliff ~ Kanab, UT)
A. He blames everyone else for everything and yells “foul” when he gets caught at it.  You hit the nail on the head.  Wah, wah, wah!

THE REALLY BAD NEWS ABOUT OBAMACARE

Various polls show that as many as 70% of Americans want ObamaCare halted in its tracks.  Cited most often is the horrendous cost of the program, not only to individuals and businesses but to the government as well.  And, of course, there’s the reduction in benefits, the discriminatory application of its provisions, and the fact that Congress has chosen to exempt itself from one of its provisos.

COMMENTS:
We’re all familiar with the bad news about ObamaCare.  But, there are two important things that are really, really bad news.  (1) Although every member of Congress huffed and puffed that the first thing they were going to do when they got back from summer break was to “undo” the law they voted for just before they left providing subsidies for themselves and their staffs, the Democrats are now lining up to defeat the “Vitter Bill” which would accomplish just that; (2) It matters not how high a percentage of the people want ObamaCare stopped; Obama is simply not going to allow that to happen.  Plain and simple, he doesn’t give a damned about what you think or want.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard that you can no longer hide money is a secret Swiss bank account?  (Thelma ~ Redding, CA)
A. That’s correct.  The Swiss bowed to international pressure and have been “outing” depositor information for some time.  Law enforcement is going after those who have been hiding money there.  Obama could be arrested any day now.

Q. Providing aid and comfort to the enemy is no longer against the law?  I thought that was treason?  (Hans ~ Raton, NM)
A. The Fuhrer Obama has seized control of the government and waived that law.  He feels that, as the Resident Fuhrer in Charge, he has the inherent authority to arm terrorists who have brought harm to the United States if he wants to, regardless of any existing law.  His intent is to arm Al Qaeda which, you will recall, brought down the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Q. With as many people as there are against ObamaCare, how can the Senate realistically refuse to follow the House’s lead to defund it?  (Max ~ Grand Junction, CO)
A. The Libertarian Party is warning the Senate that there may well be a humongous voter backlash in 2014 if they don’t defund ObamaCare.   “Now is the time,” they say. “The president’s approval ratings are low, and voters are learning that Obamacare will impose shockingly high costs and debilitating regulations on taxpayers, businesses, and medical consumers if it takes effect.” Yet, I will be pleasantly surprised if it happens and not surprised when Obama vetoes it.

NOW A SYRIAN CEASE FIRE?

Syria's deputy prime minister for economic affairs, in an interview with The Guardian, has announced President Bashar Assad wants a cease-fire with the rebels.

COMMENTS:
Wow, how the world can change in just ten short days.  I suppose, with Iran willing to enter into “discussions” and Syria looking for a cease fire, Israel must be as happy as a clam.  This news surely must take the wind out of Obama’s sails.  Pardon my cynicism, but I believe all of this just like I believe Obama was born in Toledo.  What has really happened here is that Putin is solidifying the fact that he is now in the driver’s seat in the Middle East and Obama has been outflanked, out-maneuvered and out-witted by an oil-hungry decades-old enemy.  All Putin has to do now is to merely appear to appeal to the world’s desire for peace and there’s not a damned thing this country can do to prevent a massive Russian expansion of international influence.  And here we stand naked, stripped of our clothes.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I can’t believe my ears!  Now we’re entering into diplomatic negotiations with Iran?  (Gabrielle ~ Bellevue, WA)
A. We might as well.  Thanks to Barry, Russia is giving Iran missiles and a nuclear reactor, so how can we stop the Iranians from getting nuclear weapons now?  Uncle Barry should be impeached for aiding and abetting the enemy.  All those in favor of awarding him another Nobel Peace Prize say, “Ewwww.”

Q. The House passed a budget bill yesterday which includes defunding of ObamaCare.  Do you think there is any way that will actually happen?  (Thad ~ Boise, ID)
A. Ordinarily, I would give you a flat “No.”  However, if enough citizens put enough pressure on the Senate, it is possible… remotely possible… that Reid will have to allow a vote on the floor and that it might pass.  Under those circumstances, given Obama’s loss of stature as a result of the Syrian situation, he might… just might… agree to delay the program for another year.  This will be interesting to watch.

Q. I didn’t hear a peep on 9/11 this year about observing the Benghazi Massacre.  How come?  (Minerva ~ Burbank, CA)
A. As far as Obama is concerned, that “event” is dead and buried.  If you want to see him get hot under the collar, just ask him a question about Benghazi at a press conference.

FIRST AMENDMENT ATTACKED AT MODESTO JUNIOR COLLEGE

Robert Van Tuinen, a student at Modesto Junior College in California, tried to pass out pocket-size pamphlets of the Constitution on Sept. 17 – a date also known as Constitution Day. Campus authorities told the student he could only pass out the free documents at a tiny designated spot on campus, and only then if he scheduled it several days in advance.

COMMENTS:
Evidently, the right of free speech in this country exists only in designated areas, at designated times, on an appointment basis and under rules, guidelines and restrictions promulgated by authorities with the inherent right to determine when you can flap off at the mouth and what you can say while you’re doing it.  Chairman Mao would be proud.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Just how long will it take for the U.N. to move the chemical weapons out of Syria?  (Erik ~ San Bruno, CA)
A. Sooner than Putin suggested the solution to Obama’s Syrian dilemma, Syrian forces had already started to disperse their chemical weapons stockpiles into multiple sites, possibly including shipping some out of the country to Iran and Libya; others may be buried at undisclosed locations in the desert sands.  It will be a monumental task for the U.N., once allowed in, to track down and remove chemical weapons.  This is likely to be a multi-year project.  The U.S. estimates Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime has 1,000 metric tons of chemical and biological agents.

Q. I am so upset that Planned Parenthood helps women get abortions and our government funds Planned Parenthood.  It’s against my religion.  What can I do?  (Lydia ~ Laramie, WY)
A. More bad news for you: California has passed a law that allows for people other than licensed physicians to legally perform abortions; the law was passed at the urging of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, which obviously lobbied with our taxpayer money.  Write your Congressman and your Senator, ask your priest or bishop why your church is not taking a stand on this issue, and/or contact an attorney if you are willing to spend some money and sue.

Q. I see that John Kerry is now claiming that the idea for the U.N. to take control of Syrian chemical stockpiles was his idea.  Is that true?  (Willis ~ Prescott, AZ)
A. Do you get the idea that Kerry is gearing up to run again in 2016?  I’ve never known Kerry to tell a lie or exaggerate a thing.  For this, he should get a Purple Heart to hang next to the 98 others he already has.

JAPAN’S CONTINUING REACTOR PROBLEMS

Recent reports indicate that Japan was advised by the U.S. two years ago to take immediate steps to prevent leakage of highly radioactive material into groundwater, and that they declined to do so.  The proposal to build an elaborate seawall was scuttled because the vision of its construction might ignite speculation of the operator’s bankruptcy.  Problems at the earthquake ravaged site have caused tons of radioactive water to leak into the ocean on a daily basis.

COMMENTS:
The Japanese government would obviously prefer to contaminate the world’s largest ocean as opposed to being embarrassed by the prospect of a commercial bankruptcy.  Evidently, they have been taking lessons in emergency management from the United States Government.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Is the Syrian Civil War still spilling over into Turkey?  (Mandie ~ American Canyon, CA)
A. Turkey says it shot down a Syrian helicopter that had strayed into its airspace.  Like Jordan, Turkey is experiencing a flood of Syrians seeking to get away from the violence.  In Jordan, radical mosques are also taking in Syrian rebels and sending out armed recruits to fight with Al Qaeda.  This factor presents the danger of a Syrian attack on Jordan.  Jordan's King Abdullah II is now asking the United States for help in securing its borders.  Since the U.S. considers Jordan to be an ally, it will be interesting to see how Obama responds, if he ever does.

Q. Why wasn’t there any coverage of the “Million Muslim March” on Washington on 9/11?  (Rod ~ Tucson, AZ)
A. There were very, very few attendees, and the “Two Million Bikers Rally” brought thousands of bikes to Washington on the same day.    The bikers were honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the members of the military called to service after the attacks.

Q. With all of the heat records set this summer and the wild weather we’ve been seeing, is it really possible we are having global warming?  (Amanda ~ Park City, UT)
A. While I’m not ruling it out yet, a growing number of respected scientists have been debunking the “science” that the global warming theory is based upon.  Besides, they are reporting that the ice at the Arctic Circle has grown by 60%.  And, my gut feeling is that the country will have a cold winter this year.
