MILITARY PRACTICES ASSAULTS ON U.S. CITIES

Helicopters from the U.S. Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment shook Port Angeles, Washington residents awake last week as they thundered above the city, flying low and shining bright lights on the ground during an early morning training exercise that terrorized the city.  The exercise, during which MH-60 Blackhawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters flew over the city with their landing lights on at an altitude of 750 feet, prompted frightened residents to call emergency dispatchers to ask what was going on. But dispatchers had no answers because the Army had not notified anyone in advance of the exercise.  Since January, military helicopters have flown “training” missions over Houston, Miami and Chicago. In each case, frightened citizens swamped emergency dispatchers with calls to learn if they were being attacked.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is the difference between self-defense and stand-your-ground, or is there a difference?  (Lydia ~ Nevada City, CA)
A. If I recall correctly, self-defense has predominantly said that you do have the right to defend yourself, but also that you have a duty not to defend yourself if you can escape the situation.  Of course, this gave rise to the problem of prosecutors claiming the killer could have escaped the situation and because he didn’t, he was guilty of murder or manslaughter.  This led to a whole lot of litigation, and it was resolved by enacting stand-your-ground laws that carry self-defense one step further by stipulating that if you are in fear for your life, you can defend yourself and you don’t have to try and escape.  The criminals and the left-wingers, of course, want stand-your-ground to be abolished, virtually shifting the burden of proof from the prosecution to the defendant.

Q. What do you think of the Detroit Bankruptcy?  (Celeste ~ Rapid City, SD)
A. I don’t understand it.  How can it be?  The economy is cooking right along, remember?  Unemployment is down, housing is up, ObamaCare is curing all that ails us… hell, there’s even talk that the Fed is going to quit printing money sometime next year.  Why should Detroit be filing bankruptcy?  With gas prices set to go up by another dollar before summer’s end, our economy is again in imminent danger of folding like an accordion.

Q. I understand the Obama Administration went after Christine O’Donnell when she decided to run for Congress in the primary against Delaware Republican Michael Castle.  What did they do?  (Larry ~ Albuquerque, NM)
A. They accessed her tax files and leaked news that the IRS had placed a lien on her house, (which she no longer owned.)  The IRS eventually blamed the lien on a computer glitch and withdrew it. Though O'Donnell has spent six months trying to uncover what happened, investigators told her the probe has been closed, and attempts to get information about her case through Freedom of Information Act requests have been delayed or denied.  Obviously, government corruption continues.

AUDIT OBAMACARE!

The New York Times has reported that the Obama Administration over the Independence Day holiday quietly awarded “a contract worth as much as $1.2 billion” to Serco, a British company, to help develop the federal insurance exchange.  Serco is one of two companies under investigation by British authorities for over-billing government contracts.

COMMENTS:
On Monday, July 8th, I posted on MY AMERICAN OPINION my position that we should conduct an audit of ObamaCare.  This is one of the reasons.  ObamaCare is new and under little scrutiny; I do not believe there is an Inspector General involved with the program.  With all of the dirt and corruption in other Washington agencies right now, I can’t help but believe that abuse of the taxpayer dollar is rampant within DHHS.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What’s with all of the shakeup in the lineup at FOX NEWS?  (Leon ~ Moscow, ID)
A. My guess is that Fox News ratings are slumping, probably due to healthy competition from THE BLAZE, and they’re doing what any good business would do in trying to protect their ratings and their advertising revenues.  Should they keep O’Reilly?  They will, of course, but they should let him expand his show to two hours and put him on at 3:00 AM.

Q. What has happened to all of the scandals we were being bombarded with?  Did they disappear?  (Kevin ~ Fort Worth, TX)
A. No way.  Things will start heating up on the I.R.S. story today.  That should get things moving again.   Congress has been interviewing witnesses and conducting investigations.

Q. How do you feel about Liz Cheney running for Senator from Wyoming?  (Hannah ~ Lander, WY)
A. Good for her.  She espouses many of my beliefs and I think she’ll be successful.  If Palin also wins the Senate seat from Alaska, the two could be instrumental in some needed changes in the Republican Party.

HOLDER WANTS YOU TO DIE

Attorney General Eric Holder yesterday strongly criticized stand-your-ground laws that allow a person who believes he is in imminent danger to use deadly force in self-defense.

COMMENTS:
In other words, if a guy comes at you with a sword, you should drop your gun and run like hell?  If he’s got a gun, you should lie down and prepare to die?  Zimmerman should have let Martin bang his head against the sidewalk until it split wide open?  This type of pious dialogue comes from the recipient of the Congressional Contempt Citation.  When are we going to have the guts to rid ourselves of these parasites on civilized society?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Who is Samantha Power?  (Scott ~ Lakeport, CA)
A. Currently married to Cass Sunstein, a radical regulator, she is well-known for once referring to Hillary Clinton as a “monster.”  She is very close to Obama and has been nominated by him to be the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.  She is also staunchly anti-Israeli and pro-Palestinian.  No way should she be confirmed.  The fact that she has been endorsed by John McCain should speak for itself.

Q. What’s your opinion about Jay Carney saying that the opposition by the Republicans to Obama nominees has become “ridiculous?”  (Simone ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. Obama has made no secret of his contempt for everyone, Republicans included.  Recent nominees have predominantly been an “in your face” effort to upset Congressional Republicans.  All of this posturing is being put forth because he is not getting his way.  He sees himself as being omnipotent, thereby entitled to rule without question.  He is the Cadillac of partisan politics and the Mercedes Benz of narcissism.

Q. San Diego Mayor Bill Filner is under attack for sexism, groping female employees and making lewd remarks.  How do public figures get away with this?  (Diana ~ Yuma, AZ)
A. Well, here’s my gut reaction: what’s wrong with it?  You have women who believe in aborting live fetuses as a method of birth control; you have a growing belief in gay marriage; you have a fundamental lack of morals and ethics in the country today; you have a President who doesn’t subscribe to the Constitution; you have religious leaders who don’t stand up for the word of God.  So, what do you expect?

NETANYAHU: ISRAEL MAY ACT

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran is moving ahead toward nuclear weapons capability and warned that his country would act by itself if necessary to prevent that from happening, according to NEWSMAX.   Netanyahu has said Iran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons that would pose an “existential threat” to Israel and “all options are on the table” to stop it, including a military strike.

COMMENTS:
Israel sits within relative close proximity to Iran.  Iran has made no secret about wanting to evaporate Israel and is perilously close to having the ability to launch a nuclear weapon on Tel-Aviv.  Israel’s major ally, the United States, has refused under President Obama to come to grips with the dangers Iran is posing in the Middle East.  Israel has every right to protect itself.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand George Zimmerman is suing NBC.  What for?  (Russ ~ Visalia, CA)
A. The suit originally started last year.  NBC News took the tape of the call from Zimmerman to police and edited it to make Zimmerman appear guilty of racial prejudice.  NBC subsequently apologized and said that the editing had been a “mistake.”  This is only one of several media attempts to make Zimmerman appear to be the guilty party, despite evidence to the contrary.  The ACLU should be all over this, but their hands appear to be dirty as well.

Q. Do you think Holder will bring a Civil Rights case violation against Zimmerman?  (Tall Buck ~ Glasgow, MT)
A. No.  But, he might try and bring a federal murder case against Zimmerman.  The chances of a Civil Rights case diminished yesterday when the FBI said it had investigated and determined that no prejudice existed on Zimmerman’s fault.   Yes, he can be tried for murder in the federal court system, even after being exonerated in Florida.

Q. Harry Reid is threatening to change Senate rules on confirmation proceedings unless the Senate confirms seven controversial appointments.  Can he do that?  (Gregory ~ Brea, CA)
A. He can’t change the rules by himself.  The problem is that the Courts have ruled against Obama in his appointment of union hacks to the NLRB. The appointments require a majority vote in the Senate, meaning 67 votes.  41 members are Republicans, meaning they can block confirmation.  Reid has threatened to change the rule to a simple majority, but even some Democrats are against such a rule change.  Such an attempt, if actually made, will seal the fate of the Senate in 2014; the Democrats will lose control.

FEDS MAY PROSECUTE ZIMMERMAN

The Justice Department said Sunday that it will review the George Zimmerman case for possible criminal civil rights violations.  This development comes after news that the jury found Zimmerman innocent, and after disclosure that the Justice Department played an integral role in forcing charges and a trial in the first place.  "The Department of Justice's Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to evaluate the evidence generated during the federal investigation, as well as the evidence and testimony from the state trial," the Justice Department said in a statement yesterday.  "Experienced federal prosecutors will determine whether the evidence reveals a prosecutable violation of any of the limited federal criminal civil rights statutes within our jurisdiction, and whether federal prosecution is appropriate in accordance with the Department's policy governing successive federal prosecution following a state trial."

COMMENTS:
Who can forget that DOJ’s Holder dropped charges of voter intimidation in Philadelphia against the New Black Panther Party in 2008?  Who can forget that Holder snubbed the law and flipped the big bird after being issued a Contempt of Congress citation over Fast & Furious?  Who can forget Holder’s outright lies to Congress under oath saying he knew nothing of the DOJ’s secret probing of FOX NEWS and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, when he personally signed off on the warrants?  Who can forget that the FBI, which works for Holder, still hasn’t reported on Benghazi and doesn’t know who is in charge of the IRS investigation?  Now, we are going to allow the son-of-a-bitch to keep after Zimmerman with whatever spurious charges he can drum up until he gets a conviction?  They’re just bound and determined to have a race war, aren’t they?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Is it true that Obama is pushing for more immigrants to pay taxes so he can have his spending ways, and that he wants to limit the number of U.S. births?  (Emory ~ Palm Springs, CA)
A. Yes.  That’s why he wants his 11 million illegal immigrants to have immediate amnesty.

Q. The name of Ray Kelly, New York’s top cop, has been mentioned frequently over the weekend as a replacement for Janet Napolitano.  I hear many favorable comments.  What do you think?  (Rex ~ Durango, CO)
A. Well, he has worked for both Democrats and Republicans and has an almost impeccable record.  At this point, frankly, I find myself immediately suspecting the qualifications of anyone willing to work for the Obama Administration.

Q. With all of this Zimmerman case lately, it’s like a news blackout.  What is the latest with Syria?  (Blanche ~ Bountiful, UT)
A. There are many reports that Israel struck Syria again.  Earlier this month, mysterious explosions hit an arms depot at Syria’s main port of Latakia, destroying Russian missiles capable of knocking out Israel’s Navy.  Israel is denying the reports.

JUSTICE HAS BEEN DONE

George Zimmerman was found innocent of both 2nd Degree Murder and Manslaughter last night by a jury of his peers.

COMMENTS:

This man should never have been charged with a crime in the first place.  The former Police Chief was fired because of his refusal to file charges.  The liberal media, cow-towing to the statements of President Obama and Al Sharpton, took it upon itself to drum up support for formal charges to be filed.  The decision rendered by this jury is fair and just.  The real win here is that the media lost.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:

Q. Why hasn’t a law yet been introduced requiring a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate to provide proof of citizenship?  (John ~ Henderson, KY)
A. Maybe they figure we’re not dumb enough to fall for the same trick twice?

Q. Ever since the Trayvon Martin case went to the jury, all I’ve heard is discussion about whether or not there are going to be riots after the verdict.  Opinion?  (Arnel ~ Richmond, CA)
A. I think that the continued question, perpetually put out there, is bound to fuel some dissension and protest, regardless of how the verdict comes down.  Whether or not that turns into rioting remains to be seen.  What bothers me is the implied threat that, should Zimmerman be found not guilty at all, there will be rioting.  That is a total disregard for our system of justice and should it happen,  someone needs to be put in jail.

Q. I’m disturbed about the recent decisions that seem to open the doors wide for gay marriage in this country.  What can we do about it at this point?  (Will ~ Coeur d’Alene, ID)
A. Congressman Tim Huelskamp of Kansas has introduced the Marriage Protection Amendment (H.J. RES. 51). This amendment to the U.S. Constitution would make marriage legal only between a man and a woman. The amendment states: “Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.” Don’t you wonder why you haven’t heard about this?

SNIVELING OBAMA AGREES TO CALL PUTIN

President Obama, openly laughed at by Vladimir Putin, has agreed to call the Russian President in an effort to secure the return of Edward Snowden to the United States.  He was to make that call yesterday, but White House Press Secretary Jay Carney played the telephone call down, saying it had been planned for several weeks and was not tied to the Snowden case.

COMMENTS:

Obama, shortly after Snowden left Hong Kong and landed in Moscow, asserted that he had no plans to call out the military and no plans to contact Putin on the basis that such contacts should be made by people of lesser governmental stature.  Snowden’s escape from U.S. authorities has led to continuing Obama Administration embarrassment and loss of face abroad over Obama’s national security program.  Next time you see Obama, check him out to see if he has any egg on his face.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:

Q. What do you think about Janet Napolitano’s resignation to take over the university system in California?  (Rahmie ~ Monterrey Park, CA)
A. Just wonderful.  Just what California needs.  I wonder if she’s taking her 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition with her.

Q. I understand that ObamaCare is so far behind that it has not yet devised a method for checking on the validity of claims for financial assistance in paying the new premiums, so they are just going to have the applicant’s “self-certify” their income levels, etc.  Isn’t that an invitation to fraud and an absolute waste of more taxpayer dollars?  (Rob ~ Kent, WA)
A. Of course it is.  But, understand this: Obama is prepared to go down in flames before he will do anything toward stopping ObamaCare.  He wants people in 2108 to look back and say, “This damned ObamaCare is the worst piece of crap ever invented by mankind.”  That way, he’ll achieve immortality.

Q. So, the Department of Health and Human Services is actually going to advertise for ObamaCare on Porta-Potties, and with OUR tax dollars?  (Horace ~ Ruidoso, NM)
A. That is correct.  I guess if you have a shitty product, it makes sense to advertise on portable toilets.  By the way and, according to Obama, it’s not YOUR tax dollars; it’s the government’s tax dollars.

OBAMA TO FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: “SHUT UP, OR ELSE!”

Faced with scandals from all directions, President Barack Hussein Obama has not only admonished all Federal employees to clam up, but he has also directed them to rat on each other if they suspect a fellow employee is ready to talk.  And, he has added, if employees fail to do as he has ordered them to, they themselves may face fines and imprisonment.  Under the program, which is being implemented with little public attention, security investigations can be launched when government employees showing “indicators of insider threat behavior” are reported by co-workers, according to previously undisclosed administration documents obtained by McClatchy. Investigations also can be triggered when “suspicious user behavior” is detected by computer network monitoring and reported to “insider threat personnel.”

COMMENTS:
This to me sounds as if the man directly in charge of Fast & Furious, the Benghazi Massacre, the IRS anti-conservative programs, the DOJ freedom-of-the-press debacle, the EPA scandal and the NSA scandal… is a man who doesn’t want anyone ratting him out.  It appears to me that whistleblowers are not only no longer protected, but they also have a price on their heads.  This is Marxist, fascist dictatorship, pure and simple.  We should be very, very afraid of what is happening to our country.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard that a well-known Jihadist Muslim visited with the Obamas over the 4th of July weekend.  Can you elaborate?  (Justin ~ Hesperia, CA)
A. Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the much-discussed Saudi national once identified as a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombings, did visit the White House for the 4th of July picnic.  He was reportedly also set for deportation on 212 (3)(B) grounds – “security and related grounds” (“Terrorist activities”) after the tragedy.  Sources told The Blaze his file was altered on the evening of April 17 to disassociate him from the initial charges, and according to Glenn Beck, “someone later went in and tried to destroy both the original event file and an amended version.”  Yes, we can surmise that something shady was going on.
Q. There’s a former NSA employee who is going around advocating another American revolution?  (Rogelio ~ Auburn, WA)
A. Thomas Drake spoke during Restore the Fourth rally in Washington, D.C. last week and called on Americans to revolt against government surveillance and information control.  A government whistleblower, he went on to decry the Federal government’s unquenchable thirst for power, saying that the United States “has become the kind of secret, undemocratic, authoritarian, imperialist nation against whom we fought the first American Revolution.”  I wholeheartedly concur.  Wake up!

Q. Fox News liberal correspondent Bob Beckel came out and said no new Mosques should be built in the U.S. until we sort out who is a terrorist and who isn’t.  Is that illegal?  Why shouldn’t we do it?  (Giles ~ Pacifica, CA)
A. I agree with him.  The Muslim community as a whole has been ambivalent about standing with America against terrorism.  While I believe there are many good American Muslims in the country, I also believe that many Mosques are rife with terrorists waiting for the call.  Although we have every right to “sort out” who’s who, the liberal left and others in this country including the entire Obama Administration, believe any such attempt is politically incorrect.  I can just see it on your tombstone after a radical lops off your head: “Giles was a nice guy; he was politically correct.”

OBAMA, NLRB DEFY FEDERAL COURT

The law says that major appointments by the Executive Branch have to be approved by the Senate.  It also provides that, if the Senate is on a recess and there is a job that needs to be filled for urgent reasons, the President can make a recess appointment.  Faced with a Senate that had refused to confirm three of his nominees to the NLRB, Obama waited until the Senate took Christmas vacation and made the appointments.  There was no emergency.  The Senate and rest of Congress fumed, but took no action.  The matter eventually ended up in court and a Federal Appeals Court ruled that the appointments were illegal.  The Chairman of the NLRB, backed by Obama, announced that the members would not step down and that the NLRB would continue to conduct business regardless of the court order.

COMMENTS:
There have been many subsequent decisions rendered by the NLRB, which is now seen as a puppet of organized labor.  The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the matter during the next term, but the fact that the NLRB is defying the prior decision leaves everything the NLRB does open to legal challenge.  Obviously, Congress has been effectively cowed by Obama and we have a de facto dictatorship.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. If someone, somehow was successful in stopping ObamaCare in its tracks, what would happen?  (Ryan ~ Pico Rivera, CA)
A. A lot of that depends on how it was stopped: permanent, temporary, court decision, funding cuts, reversed by Congressional action, etc.  I feel that, at this point, it is still possible just to shut it down and walk away from it with layoffs and office closures.  But, if we go much further where exchanges are already set up, for example and selling insurance, that’s a horse of a different color.  One thing that needs to be foremost in everyone’s mind is that simply getting rid of ObamaCare won’t cure the problem of escalating costs; we need a plan.

Q. What about that $34 million dollar facility they built in Afghanistan that’s never been occupied and will be torn down before the troops leave?  (Eugenia ~ Salt Lake City, UT)
A. And, why wasn’t that money used to build a secure facility at Benghazi?  This gang of numbskulls is criminally liable for those deaths there, as far as I am concerned.

Q. There’s a story going around that proof exists that the Cubans were responsible for the assassination of John F. Kennedy.  Can you fill me in and what’s your opinion?  (Barney ~ Ashland, OR)
A. It is very difficult for me to believe that, when transporting Oswald, the cops and FBI allowed anyone like Rubio, who did not belong there by any stretch of the imagination, to be there.  I will go to my grave believing that portion of the story was a setup.  Why, I do not know.  But, there’s a former CIA agent saying that Oswald had ties to Cuban operatives long before Kennedy was assassinated and that the CIA deliberately did not relay that information to the Warren Commission after-the-fact.  So far, however, no one is alleging that Castro or Cuba actually played a role in the assassination.
