MORSI FLEES EGYPTIAN PRESIDENTIAL PALACE

On the advice of his own security personnel, Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi has left his presidential palace as crowds began to turn violent; at least 100,000 protesters gathered in Cairo.

COMMENTS:
Well, well, the peacemaker between Israel and Gaza is in deep dung.  It is not known at this time if, when he fled, he also gave up his presidency.  I hate to suggest or to say this, but I fear that this country is on the verge of doing the same thing to Obama, due to his arrogant power grabs and insolent behavior.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Both Presidents Clinton and Carter have recently come out and said they feel the “war on drugs” has been a failure.  Do you agree?  (Lorilyn ~ Anderson, CA)
A. Absolutely. It is another example of starting a war and then demanding that everyone involved on our side play the war game by political rules.  If you’re going to war, go to war and get it over with.  But, there is far too much money involved; both judges and law enforcement officers have been bought and paid for, over and over again.  This “war” has created avenues for corruption beyond your wildest imagination.  Both borders are porous when it comes to drug trafficking, as are our ports.

Q. Bob Costas gave a half-hearted apology regarding his rant against gun owners.  Do you think he should lose his job?  (Kevin ~ San Jose, CA)
A. Given its political positions, NBC would never fire Costas for what he said regardless of what I think.  He followed that up by saying that NRA members are racists and in a “gun culture.”  If that was the case, why wouldn’t you hear about NRA members, many of them black, running around shooting members of the other race?  Furthermore, the shooter in this case was just as black as those killed.  Costas has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is the bigot in the crowd. What I really want the country to get to the bottom of is Benghazi.

Q. What will happen if every state refuses to “opt in” to the new ObamaCare?  (Asia ~ Vancouver, WA)
A. The feds would have to provide that healthcare, meaning we will end up with totally socialized, government-run medical care and your income taxes will nearly double to pay for it.  This is what I don’t understand: 70% of the country doesn’t like Obamacare, so how did he win reelection?

A REAL CORKER

OBAMA WARNS ASSAD

Word is that Assad is moving chemical weapons in Syria and preparing to use them.  President Obama issued a very strong warning to Assad yesterday that the United States will not tolerate the use of chemical weapons in Syria and that we will react if it happens.

COMMENTS:
Maybe we’ll send in the same troops we sent to save the U.S. Ambassador at Benghazi.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. There’s more and more talk about going ahead with going over the fiscal cliff.  What do you think?  (Moreland ~ Salem, OR)
A. Neither side has the guts to go over the fiscal cliff.  All this talk is a bunch of hot air and I’m so sick and tired of hearing about it.  Can’t we talk about Fast & Furious or Benghazi instead?

Q. There’s a move on to deny veterans who are deemed too mentally incompetent to handle their own financial affairs the right to own or carry a gun.  What is your opinion?  (Calvin ~ Taos, NM)
A. I tend to agree with that.  Mind you, I am a life member of the NRA and very protective of gun rights.  But, I also recognize that there are some people who should not own or carry a gun, including ex-felons, psychopaths, people who don’t know right from wrong, and people who lack the fundamental judgment as to when the use of a gun is appropriate.  Virtually every gun crime or tragedy involves one of the above.

Q. A sportscaster, Bob Costas, went on a “let’s get rid of guns” rant during Sunday Night Football.  Is this a sign of things to come?  (Kerry ~ Hobbs, NM)
A. Undoubtedly.  But, he is wrong in saying that if the perpetrator had not had a gun, the crime would not have occurred.  Murders and mayhem have been going on ever since the creation of mankind, long before guns were invented.  In fact, the higher the number of people possessing guns in a community, the lower the violent crime rate.  That’s an FBI statistic, by the way.

BP DESERVES FAR MORE PUNISHMENT

Everyone knows that BP owned the oil rig that spilled hundreds of millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico.  BP’s top dogs were replaced, millions of dollars were spent on a cleanup, and BP now likes to advertise about the several billions of dollars it has paid out in individual claims.  Now, the Federal Government is adding another $4.5 billion in criminal fines and suspending all government contracting with BP.

COMMENTS:
That may sound pretty steep, but British Petroleum has a long and sordid history of bad environmental practices and disasters in its legacy, not only in oil production but also in natural gas, chemical manufacturing and mining.  Historically, it never cleans up after itself until forced to do so by court action.  In 2009, before the oil spill disaster, BP made $14 billion; in 2012, after the oil spill disaster, profits are estimated at over $21 billion.  The fines and damages paid literally amount to less than a tap on the wrist when compared to the mountains of muck it has left behind in every country of the world.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Obama has made it obvious with his ridiculous plan to deal with the fiscal cliff that he just doesn’t care.  What do we do now?  (Marcus ~ Arcadia, CA)
A. Don’t be so dismissive.  Obama won reelection and he now has the power.  He intends to get everything he asked for in this proposal.  The liberals who voted for him will see that he wins his way.  Right now, he’s the bully in the kindergarten playground and no one can stop him.  Well, maybe George Soros could stop him, but he’s so busy right now salivating over the prospects of the U.S. government collapsing under its own weight that he’s simply beside himself.

Q. What happens if they don’t reach a deal to solve the so-called “fiscal cliff?”  (Chelsea ~ Ukiah, CA)
A. They’ll reach a deal; neither side wants to be seen as guilty of not reaching a deal.  My prediction, however, is that they will punt.  Look for another six months delay and keeping things the way they currently are.

Q. Will a national lottery cure what ails us?  (Phillip ~ Redding, CA)
A. The fundamental problems would remain, being that we are spending more than we are taking in and are therefore in horrible debt.  Until you change those bad habits, nothing can save us.  And, a national lottery would hurt state lotteries.  If you want to know what the politicians would do with lottery money, just look at California which started its lottery to pay for better education for students.  The money generated has been siphoned out of the education fund to pay for general fund expenses and the state is in the deepest fiscal hole ever created by any state.

NORTH KOREA READY TO TEST LONG RANGE MISSILE

Although the United Nations has condemned and banned North Korea’s nuclear and long-range missile program, North Korea intends to test its second long-range missile this month.  This will be North Korea's second launch attempt under new leader Kim Jong Un; the first attempt was a failure.

COMMENTS:
Well, so what?  Just who is going to do anything about it?  Heads up in Fairbanks!

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why in God’s name is Obama asking for a stimulus when the past ones have failed miserably?  (Ella ~ Concord, CA)
A. Well, he’s listening to the arguments that raising taxes on the rich will put another drag on the economy.  He wants another stimulus to counter that drag.  Why doesn’t he forget the taxes on the rich in the first place?  He campaigned on more taxes for the rich, so he is going to make it happen or he will truly look like the schmuck that he is.  I say, let’s go after loopholes and get rid of them and lets cut out the spending we’re going to do on ObamaCare and let’s see how the dust piles settle then…. Or should I say rock piles?

Q. Besides buying up foreclosed houses in the U.S., what is China doing with all of our money?  (Lou ~ Kellogg, ID)
A. Believe it or not, their economy is about ready to go down the tubes.  LIGNET is reporting that after several years of massive government stimulus as well as heavy support for the real estate sector, China’s bubble is about ready to burst.  Their stock market has already fallen to 2009 lows.  The ominous things about this news is that (1) China may try to resolve its economic woes, caused by its own stimulus spending and real-estate problems, through military means, and (2) our economy is so closely ties to theirs that their failure could easily cause the worst worldwide depression in history.  But, Obama's not listening, is he?

Q. America’s seniors are desperately worried about the country going down the fiscal drain.  Are their fears really founded?  (Penny ~ Santa Clara, CA)
A. Who cares?  They’ll all be dead in another 15-20 years, anyway.  Never mind that many of them experienced the Great Depression and have first-hand knowledge of what it is all about, who wants to listen to a bunch of old fogies, anyway?  Besides, I think if the U.S. declares bankruptcy, we won’t have to pay off our credit cards, right?

NORTH EASTERNERS GET OBAMA’S FINGER

Those stuck in the aftermath of Sandy remember well Obama’s promises that FEMA would be there to help and there would be no red tape this time.  Not under his watch.  Now that the election is over and Obama won reelection, however, Obama’s promises are proving to be empty.  At a recent Town Hall meeting, some 1,000 people who were initially scheduled to submit written questions that would be picked and answered at random, turned into an angry mob where residents booed FEMA officials and accused them of lying.  Power continues to be out in many areas and residents are being put through mountains of government red tape in order to get assistance with their issues.  FEMA’s response is that they are working as fast as they can and with as little red tape as possible.  In other words, "T.S."

COMMENTS:
And this, my friends, is how things happen in a Socialist country.  When will this country ever learn?  Mohammed Obama is famous for promising the country anything, anything the people want so he can get what HE wants.  Once he gets what HE wants, screw anybody else.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I don’t understand why it is so difficult to compromise, like on the fiscal cliff.  (Joseph ~ Hemet, CA)
A. Well, here’s how it should work.  You have the Republicans who believe we should spend less by cutting programs that are not really necessary for the country, kind of like cutting out going to dinner one night a week or getting rid of one of the cell phones in the house.  Then, you have the Democrats who believe in taxing more.  In compromise, knowing that you need to create more cash in the household with which to pay down debt, the Republicans agree to some tax increases that won’t really hurt the economy and the Democrats agree to some spending cuts that will not really adversely impact what needed services the government provides.  What we have had for the last four years, and are continuing to have, is that the Democrats are refusing compromise on anything.  They will not even discuss some budgetary cuts; they want only tax increases and even some increase in spending.  This will not solve the problem, but we have a stalemate, created by the Democrats.  Whenever there is some compromise, it has always been the Republicans who caved in; the Democrats have never given an inch over the last four years.  We reelected a President who should have the leadership skills to create or force compromise, but who believes he is Mohammed and that his way is the only way and that his will and only his will, will be done.

Q. Is there any way we can force government to quit spending money and get our debt in line?  (Federico ~ Antelope, CA)
A. Several ways, starting off with electing people who are willing to do what is necessary; but, we had our chance already and we blew it.  We could quit paying taxes; that would force them to quit spending and would certainly gain their immediate attention.  They can’t jail all of us.  We could pass a balanced budget amendment.   I like option two, a taxpayer’s revolt.  You know, if we all quit paying taxes, it doesn’t matter what rate they set.

Q.  In response to the fiscal cliff, Obama is offering a $1.6 trillion budget, another $500 billion stimulus so more of his friends and associates can get rich, and absolutely no reduction in spending.  I also understand he is demanding Presidential authority to raise the national debt limit whenever he wants to.  What do you say to all of this?  (Ellis ~ Casper, WY)
A. Whatever you want, Mohammed Obama.  Your every wish is our command, (bow required).
