CHRIS CHRISTIE: THE SPOILER?

News is that popular New Jersey Governor Chris Christie may succumb to extensive Republican pressure and announce his candidacy for the Presidency within days.  Newsmax has learned that the effort to draft Christie culminated in a hush-hush powwow held in the past week with Christie and several notable Republican billionaires.

COMMENTS:
Christie has thus far refused to enter the race because he says he is too committed to New Jersey and too new in politics to run at this time.  But, major fund contributors have stayed away from announced candidates because no one really stands out as being the ideal candidate.  If Christie decides to get in, look for the field to thin out rapidly; we could be down to five or six candidates by the end of next week.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you get the sense that Obama cannot now recover from his record lows in time to win the 2012 race?  (Charlie ~ Sausalito, CA)
A. Don’t count your ducks before they hatch.  Obama is a powerful and persuasive speaker.  Sometimes, I think he could switch parties and even the Republicans would be kissing his feet.

Q. Texas just ended the practice of allowing prisoners on death row to have a special last meal before being executed, because a recent prisoner abused the privilege.  What’s your opinion? (Mitch ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. Typical liberal thinking; punish the multitude for the sins of one person.  I fundamentally disagree with the reasoning.  On a lighter note, those already on death row should sue the state for breach of contract if they don’t get their special meals.  Can you guess how many murders were committed in Texas by people just for the purpose of getting that special last meal?

Q. Russia’s Vladimir Putin is going to run for the Presidency again. How can he do that? (Sam ~ Youngstown, OH)
A. Russia allows Presidents to serve two successive terms, then to sit out at least one term.  The current President, Dmitry Medvedev, will move into Putin’s current job as Prime Minister.  But, Putin has been in charge all along in this game of Russian charades.  I think Obama wants desperately to be his American protégé.

ENROUTE BACK TO THE MOUNTAIN

The financial and economic forecast continues to go south on us.  While on my vacation, the stock market has tumbled and economic news has been dismal.  While some "experts" are suggesting we are going to have a double-dip recession, others think there has been insufficient positive economic news to be able to say we got out of the "Great Recession" at all.

Obama, in all of his socialistic glory, wants another $500 trillion stimulus.  He has no idea how ticked off people really are about that.  Here he is pissing away money that we do not have while millions of people are losing everything they ever had.  I'm talking about virtually everybody... including those who voted for him in 2008.  They'd all pretty much like to lynch him.  The line that Newt Gingrich put out in last night's debates, that the real way to stimulate our economy is to get Obama out of office is ringing true.

I'll be back on the 26th.  Try and hold the nation together until I get there, okay?  Load up on the firewood because it's going to be a long, cold winter in more ways than one.

FROM THE SOUTHWEST

I’m on vacation until the 26th.  I’m just checking in from a small town south of Santa Fe.  The weather here has been generally cool with afternoon thunder-boomies.  I’m visiting my brother and his wife along with one of my sons, a nephew, a nice and her husband; I traveled from Burney to Reno, to Cedar City, Utah, to here.

Along the way, I had the opportunity to visit with some great and wonderful people, being doctors, lawyers, plumbers, ditch diggers, glass makers, jewelers and stevedores.  The stevedores were in Kayenta, Arizona, waiting for their ship to come in.  I think they said they’ve been there for 33 years so far.

What I have found in my conversations is that everyone in Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico is fed up.  They’re fed up with the lavish and cavalier spending in Washington, the lack of accountability to the people, government regulations, unemployment, the economy in general, Obama’s total disregard for the public will and the high price of toilet paper.  That last one is a very bad sign for Obama.  Did you know that the White House uses more toilet tissue per person than any other building in the United States?

No, seriously; Obama is in deep shit.  His lying, his manipulating, his socialism, his condescension and the lengthy string of bad  decisions he has made for the country are finally piling up deep enough in the toilets of mistrust of Americans that they want change, all right… change back to the Ronald Reagan era.  What’s more, they’re ready to do something about it. I've never seen such general public angst in my life.

I'll try and check in a couple of more times before I get back to my mountain.

COULD SOLYNDRA BE OBAMA’S WATERLOO?

What is known is that the White House at least pressured Federal authorities into guaranteeing over $500 million in loans to the solar panel manufacturing company in California that was on the verge of bankruptcy.  Executives of that company contributed heavily to Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign and the company filed for bankruptcy in 2011; what happened with the $500 million is not known or understood at this point.

COMMENTS:
Those in the know say that the chain of knowledge reaches at least Vice-President Joe Biden; insiders say that Obama’s closet advisers certainly had to know.  White House employees are disavowing responsibility or knowledge and point the fickle finger of blame at each other. Obama is on the road trying to sell his latest folly and shows no interest in this scandal, dubbed by one Congressional lawmaker as being “outright theft.” But then again, his is the true, certified Imperial Presidency; he can do what he wants and he does not have to be accountable to us for it.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I saw on YAHOO yesterday that ancient circles visible only from the air have been discovered in the Azraq Oasis.  Is the more “ancient astronaut” stuff?  (Bill ~ Phoenix, AZ)
A. There are now thousands of them that have recently been discovered. To me, they bear some resemblance to crop circles.  They are made of stone and were constructed at least 2,000 years ago, sometime around the birth of Christ. Like other drawings and “airstrips” in Peru and the Andes, they cannot be seen from the ground.  Does that answer your question? I mean, why build it if you can’t see it?

Q.  Governor Perry mentioned getting back to “Christian values” the other night and that is creating quite an uproar.  What’s wrong with getting back to Christian values?  (Lynda ~ Reno, NV)
A. Left-wing liberals are not Christians.

Q. I see, as you predicted, that Netflix is in deep trouble due to losing subscribers after raising their rates by 60%.  Do you feel vindicated? (Dr. Spock ~ Hollywood, CA)
A. Okay, “doctor,” I get the jab.  Just last month, they tried trickery in an attempt to get users back, as I pointed out at the time.  Their management obviously feels it can mistreat its customer base and if the customers don’t like it, tough.  Low life companies like this need to be out of business, bankrupt, ca put.  So no, I don’t feel vindicated yet. When I see a public apology on billboards and TV ads, when I see six months free service if you re-enlist and going back to the old rate structure, I might feel differently.  But, don’t hold your breath; idiots like these never get the message until it’s just too damned late.

OBAMA’S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER DOES NOT CHECK OUT?

MINUTEMAN PAC is reporting that the entry of President Obama’s Connecticut-issued Social Security Number into E-Verify produces the response that it is a fraudulent number.  E-Verify is the electronic system created by U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to verify if prospective employees have the required authorization to work legally in the United States.

COMMENTS:
If the President is a legitimate U.S. citizen, why does he continue to refuse to prove it?  Why does he blow whatever reputation he had by producing two birth certificates that are as phony as the day is long?  Why won’t the State of Hawaii issue a certified statement to the effect that Obama was actually born in Honolulu?  Why has the media consistently refused to get the answer for us?  Was he really born in Area 51?  Is that the problem here?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Obama wants to change jobless benefits by adding funds to include payments for training for new jobs.  What do you think?  (Sondra ~ Salt Lake City, UT)
A. Finally, after 2-1/2 years in office, he comes up with something intelligent.  It may cost more in the short run, but could actually save money by getting people back into new jobs earlier.  I’m all for it.

Q. Of all of the Republican Presidential candidates, who do you think had the best chance of bridging the gaps between the Democrats and Republicans and getting things done for the country? (Benjamin ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. Newt Gingrich.

Q. Do you make anything out of the two Republican wins on Tuesday?  (Luke ~ Oklahoma City, OK)
A. The Nevada race, no; Mark Amodei is well-known and respected in Nevada and should have won.  As for the New York race, it was a referendum on Obama because the Democratic candidate played the Obama line on the economy and the Republican winner went after him like a fly on horse manure.

RON PAUL: TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN LIFE

Responding to a question from Wolfe Blitzer Monday night where a young man chooses not to buy insurance and ends up in a coma, Ron Paul essentially said that’s what freedom of choice is all about and you live by your choices.  The government has no responsibility for your choices.  He received rousing applause.

COMMENTS:
Why should I be forced to pay for your stupidity?  If I choose to give to charity or church and they help a guy like this, that’s one thing.  For the government to take the stand that I have to… by law am obligated to… kick in some of my money to help this guy out is flat-out stealing from me what I have worked so hard for to get. If you take care of yourself, I will take care of myself and we'll all get along fine... like we have for over 200 years.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you think about those anti-American demonstrations on 9/11 against the U.S. by radical Muslims living in the U.S.?  (George ~ Albany, CA)
A. They should be charged with giving aid and comfort to the enemy and removed from the country.

Q. What do you think would be an acceptable modification to Social Security?  (Myhren ~ Ontario, CA)
A. Double the payouts.  I’m a recipient; what did you expect me to say?  It will have to be modified, not for those on or approaching payout, but for the rest.  The big lie here which no one talks about is that the government raided the Social Security funds on a regular basis.  That figure should be paid back into the fund.  As it did in the Cobell case where it glommed onto hundreds of millions of dollars belonging to Indians and then mysteriously lost the accounting for those funds, I’m sure the government can’t tell us how much that is.  After it is paid back, then we can calculate the real shortfall and adjust on that basis.

Q. I read that they are thinking of changing the COLA by using the CPI instead.  What do you think?  (Barry ~ Redding, CA)
A. Why don’t they just take the TYRL and divide it by the DERT to come up with a GYTD they can apply to the CRYOUTLOUD?  Enough with the acronyms, okay? The cost of living adjustment is just what it says it is.  The consumer price index is only remotely associated with it and is usually less than the COLA.  All this talk is about is reducing the amount paid to military and social security retirees.  So, you are going to starve them all to death, but you’re going to be nice about it and do it slowly.  Isn’t that just swell?
