WESTERN-STYLE BATTLE: WYOMING VS. EPA VS. TRIBES

The dispute started in December when the EPA ruled on a request from the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribes, which sought "state status" in order to administer air quality monitoring. The EPA determined the land in question actually belongs to the Wind River Indian Reservation and has for more than a century, despite a 1905 law opening it to non-tribal members. The decision encompasses the city of Riverton.

COMMENTS:
What a gut-wrenching battle this is for me.  I’m solidly behind the tribes getting some of their land back; I’ve been involved in Indian Country all of my life, and I feel it’s been an ongoing gross injustice that we whites have perpetrated against Native Americans.  On the other hand, I also have a background in the study of law.  Now, I’m not educated on the particulars of how the Northern Arapahos and the Eastern Shoshone ended up on the same reservation.  I do know that they own a lot of land in Wyoming.  I have to presume that they ended up there either because the government forced them there or because they agreed to some treaty.  In either event, the U.S. Congress had to be a party to the ultimate decision.  I firmly believe that the EPA lacks the official capacity to determine who the land belongs to, and that they should have their over-reaching ears pinned back.  The Wind River tribes, however, do have the standing to take the matter to Federal Court and on to the Supreme Court.  But, if you allow the EPA to make the decision, then why shouldn’t the Department of Education be able to rule that Manhattan also belongs to the Lenape American Indians?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How can we have the audacity to suspend the debt limit?  (Janice ~ Eureka, CA)
A. That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of.  Why doesn’t this country just roll over and play dead until the Chinese come to collect on their debt?

Q. Now that Bloomberg is out of office, what’s going on with his organization, “Mayors Against Guns?”  (Rod ~ Lander, WY)
A. It’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and mayors are literally running away in droves.  They claim that they didn’t realize the organization wants to trash the Second Amendment and take away all of our gun rights.  They insist that they are against illegal guns, (who isn’t?), and that the organization morphed into a personal vendetta by Bloomberg and his hooligans against all guns.  Bloomberg has said now that he is out of office, he intends to take gun control head on until every last gun in the country has been melted down, and he doesn’t care whether you like it or not.  He stinks like hell and needs a GI shower.

Q. I know all of the figures floating out of the Obama Administration are as worthless as teats on a boar but, do you have any idea how many people are really signing up for ObamaCare?  (Sonni ~ Vancouver, WA)
A. Whatever the truth is, only half of them have paid any premiums.  Now, we do know that they claim 6 million, but in that figure are the people who have not paid, the people who ended up on Medicaid instead, and the people who already had insurance and were forced onto ObamaCare for one reason for another.  My suspicions are that the number of actual new ObamaCare enrollees is less than 2 million, of which half have not paid.  Frankly, I am in total favor of people NOT signing up as a measure of their defiance of this purely rotten law, as long as they can find some other form of coverage or they can afford medical care themselves.  I have to add that caveat, because I don’t want to see anyone hurt financially in this battle, except ObamaCare itself.

OMINOUS GOVERNMENT CRACKDOWN AGAINST LASERS

The FBI is cracking down on people who point lasers at aircraft, sometimes temporarily blinding pilots and endangering the lives of everyone on board.  The potentially deadly crimes have risen dramatically nationwide.

COMMENTS:
Which brings to mind a frightening thought: If a pen-sized laser is that powerful, what would an attack by a villain with a laser ten times as big and powerful do?  And, with the research capabilities of the Internet and technology readily available at the corner store, just how difficult would it be for someone to build such a laser?  Let’s say it was the size of a large flashlight with two or three D batteries in it; how easy would that be to conceal and transport?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you honestly think rich brat Justin Bieber will do any jail time for his many bad antics, including the egging of his next-door-neighbor’s house? (Betsy ~ Salinas, CA)
A. No way.  My only regret is that he does not live next door to the White House.

Q. What do you think about the Iranian navy coming to troll our shores?  (Johnny ~ Scranton, PA)
A. I hope they’re not carrying their first nuke with them.  Outside of that, I don’t even know why it gets press or media coverage.  It’s only one ship and a tender.  That’s their navy.  Obama has bigger navies than that floating in his commode.

Q. I just can’t believe last week’s unemployment numbers at 6.6%.  It seems to me that every family I know has at least one unemployed person in it.  (Paul ~ Ogden, UT)
A. The 6.6% figure represents 10.2 million Americans still actively looking for work.  Those unemployed who have given up, but who still want to work and are able to work, number 91.4 million.  Now, if 6.6% equals 10.2 million, what percentage point equals the total of 101.6 million out of work?  That computes out to a whopping 65.7%.  Now, who is using the fuzzy math and putting it out there for us to swallow?  Could it be the great prevaricator, the guy who says we have 57 states and that Benghazi was the result of a crazy video?

OBAMACARE-ITIS GRIPS DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The Democrats are scrambling around like worms on an anthill in a concerted, emergency effort to salvage the November elections.  ObamaCare threatens to undermine their positions of absolute power and even to destroy their dreams of winning it big in 2016.  The Obama administration announced another delay yesterday in the requirement on businesses to provide health coverage to workers, giving many employers a reprieve until after the 2016 elections.  There are already designs in the works to move the October 2014 deadline for people who were able to keep their private plans on into 2015.  In the meantime, Demo Senators and House Members up for reelection in 2014 are shedding Obama “Hope and Change” stickers like crazy.

COMMENTS:
This would be a good time for the Republicans to put up a bill in the House to replace ObamaCare with something else.  It would be interesting to see how many Dems up for reelection would vote against a move to do away with ObamaCare.  Squirm baby, squirm.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I am so angry over the continuing onslaught on our Constitution and our religious background in this country.  Now, Holder is extending full marital rights to married homosexuals and tramping all over state rights.   Can’t we do something to rein in this “reign of terror?” (Winnie ~ Flagstaff, AZ)
A. Yes.  Quit your bellyaching, get your fanny off of your computer chair and DO something about it.  What is really wrong with this country over these past few years is that we’ve become a nation of birds… all mouth and no ass.  You have a phone, a computer, email and probably a fax.  Don’t tell ME your problems; tell them to Congress, and if you can’t get their attention, get rid of them.  It’s time we become proactive instead of reactive.

Q. What’s your opinion of CVS Pharmacy’s decision to stop selling cigarettes?  (Derek ~ Logandale, NV)
A. It’ll be an interesting experiment.  I suspect that they’ve chased the smokers over to Walgreens or Rite Aid along with their associated purchases.  But, I understand their real reason is they are planning to come out with a line of Obama dolls, similar to GI Joes and they need the shelf space.  Word has it that the dolls will have bobbing heads and be ideal for putting in the rear windows of '57 Chevy low riders.   They’re going to be sold under the trade name of “Promises.”

Q. You’ve spoken about the dangers of terrorist attacks on our national electrical grid and that subject is getting national attention right now.  Are there other vulnerable targets we should be concerned about?  (Gardner ~ Kearney, NE)
A. Computers and the Internet, of course; then we have water reservoirs, the food supply chain and our refineries.

FBI & IRS STORM-TROOPERS STRIKE AGAIN

Agents of the FBI and IRS swooped down on the home, business and storage of businessman Sam Childers in Pennsylvania the other day.  They went through everything he had and ended up totally destroying a shipping container full of… clothing ready to be sent to an orphanage in Africa.  Childers is a former recipient of the Mother Theresa Award.  The FBI and IRS are declining comment.

COMMENTS:
These stories of oppressive abuse and intimidation are becoming all too common.  It seems like at least once a month we hear of atrocities just like this.  Has our government already been overthrown?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What are your thoughts about the U.S. Post Office getting into the basic banking business?  (Dylan ~ Alturas, CA)
A. That’s makes just about as much sense as the government getting into the health care business.  If the Post Office is sincere about making money, it should quit the door-to-door delivery altogether except in rural areas.  Let people and businesses pick up their own mail at post offices or cluster boxes.  That’ll save one ton of money in payroll, benefits, retirement programs, vehicles and maintenance. It'll be a cold day in Hell before I let the government handle MY money, given their track records with AmTrack, ObamaCare and the IRS.

Q. What is your opinion of our national security?  (Irv ~ Boise, ID)
A. It’s in a shambles.  The Obama Administration has virtually dismantled a lot of it and turned the rest of it toward domestic spying on his enemies.  I furthermore believe that this degradation is not because Obama is incompetent or doesn’t know better; it is so extensive and pervasive that it has to be deliberate.

Q. There’s some flack going around about whether not some of Obama’s recent appointees to ambassadorships to various nations are qualified for their posts.  I always thought they were basically political paybacks anyway.  What are your thoughts?  (Yazzie ~ Albuquerque, NM)
A. I agree with your thoughts; you don’t really have to know a lot about State matters or about U.S. policy; that’s what the underlings are there for.  You do need to know how to speak the language and throw some good parties.  Take Sandra Fluke, for instance; she would be the perfect Ambassador to the Virgin Islands.

ANCIENT FOOTSTEPS

Archaeologists announced Friday that they have discovered human footprints in England which are between 800,000 and 1 million years old — the most ancient found outside Africa and the earliest evidence of human life in northern Europe. A team from the British Museum, London's Natural History Museum and Queen Mary College at the University of London uncovered imprints from up to five individuals in ancient estuary mud at Happisburgh on the country's eastern coast.
COMMENTS:

So they found Phyllis Diller’s Obama’s footprints in England?  Big deal; why can’t we find out where Obama was born?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:

Q. What is your position on getting rid of coal as an energy source in this country?  (Bill ~ Scranton, PA)
A. The theory is that we will reduce carbon emissions and the greenhouse effect, but that’s fallacious; if we reduce or eliminate the use of coal in this country, the miners/producers will simply ship their coal to other countries, so emissions around the globe don’t get reduced one iota.  I believe the coal industry and the users of coal are willing to comply with reasonable emission limits; we certainly have the capabilities to do that.  So, why don’t we keep production here with miners employed and have a say-so in the overall emissions where we can have a positive impact on global pollution?  We need to keep what jobs we have right here in the U.S.
Q. Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor came out and said that calling illegal immigrants “criminals” is insulting.  Do you agree?  (Myrna ~ Chester, CA)
A. Could it be that if she takes an illegal bribe to sway a Court decision, she doesn’t want to be called a criminal? Come on, if you do something illegal, such as crossing our border against the law, you have committed a crime.  Those who have committed a crime are called “criminals.”  Somebody please send her some Ex-Lax; I sent all of mine to Nancy Pelosi.
Q. What do you think about Sandra Fluke running for Congress?  (Bitsy ~ Oklahoma City, OK)
A. She’s considering running for Henry Waxman’s seat, so you’d have a left-wing loon running to fill the seat of a left-wing loon.  She’s the gal who believes you and I should pay for her contraceptives and, therefore, her f----ing around.  At least she’s up front with her agenda.  I, on the other hand, think the government should pay for my dog to be neutered.

ADMINISTRATION LETTING TERRORISTS INTO THE U.S.

FOX NEWS is reporting the Obama administration has unilaterally eased restrictions on asylum seekers who have loose or incidental ties to terror and insurgent groups, in a move one senator called "deeply alarming." Supporters of the change, including Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., argued that the current ban on anyone who has ever aided terrorists has unfairly blocked thousands of refugees.

COMMENTS:
Well, isn’t this just one big pile of ugly bullshit?  Why WOULD we want ANYONE who has ever aided terrorists to be allowed into this country?  WHY DON’T WE JUST HAND THE BASTARDS THE KEYS?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The State of Oregon is under fire for the manner in which it set up its ObamaCare website and their phony progress reports.  They did this, I guess, in order to get their hands on more Federal funding.  What do you think will happen?   (Archie ~ Pasco, WA)
A. Nothing will happen.  How can the Administration go after Oregon for cheating when they, themselves, are the epitome of the word?  What’s wrong with a little stealing, lying and conniving anyway?  I mean, the whole country is doing it, so it must be okay, right?  Don’t be a spoilsport by bringing morality, ethics and law into it.  But, when you’ve finally had enough, will you please show up at the polls and do something about it?

Q. After the interview with Obama, O’Reilly says he doesn’t think the President is actively trying to hurt the country. What do you think?  (Randy ~ Sparks, NV)
A. I disagree with O’Reilly.  I think Obama wants to change our government and I don’t think he has any concern whatsoever about who gets hurt, or killed, in the process.  Sometimes, I think O’Reilly gets so wrapped up in himself that he can’t see the forest through the trees.   I’ve got ten bucks that says he smoked pot in college.  He DID go to Obama’s college, you know… Haaaarvard.

Q. How can New York get away with some of its anti-gun antics? They’re even worse than California.  (Shelly ~ Newport Beach, CA)
A. Maybe so, but the NRA loves them.  The biggest chapter of the NRA in the country is in New York.  Maybe it’s because New Yorkers really don’t believe in the anti-gun crap that their legislators whom they elected force into law.  Or, since the state doesn’t want any conservatives living there, maybe it’s proof that even the liberals secretly like guns.

YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE THIS

Police in Chula Vista, California, arrested a fire fighter while at the scene of an accident.  Several firefighters were attending to victims in the accident when a police officer told one of them to get up and go move the fire truck, which was parked on the center divider.  The firefighter refused and continued to attend to one of the crash victims, so the officer arrested him, cuffed him and ordered him into the back of a police cruiser.

COMMENTS:
The officer must have been practicing to be a politician… maybe even President.  This is what happens when you “dumb down” the public, like the left-wing loons have been doing for years; you get people who can’t think for themselves, so you have to create new and usually ridiculous laws to deal with the issues they create.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand there was a terrorist attack on a California electrical substation and the FBI is covering it up?  (Wendy ~ San Diego, CA)
A. That event was reported here several weeks ago.  The attack occurred April 13, 2013 in underground vaults of PGE’s Metcalf Substation.  They say it was a 52 minute attack involving at least 100 shots into transformers and the cutting of telephone cables.  The FBI is saying it was not a terrorist attack, but I say it was an act of either domestic or foreign origin that was designed to create terror.  It took 27 days to repair.  I don’t see how it could be classified as simple vandalism.  If the FBI is shrugging its shoulders over this, what else is going on in the country that we should be informed about?  What do they need to get their attention… another 9/11?

Q. How can they say it is against the law to flash your lights at oncoming cars?  What if you just passed a bunch of deer on the side of the road or there was an accident?  (Justine ~ Laredo, TX)
A. Some town in Missouri passed such a law to prevent motorists flashing a warning that cops had a speed trap set up.  But, not to worry: a Federal Judge in St. Louis just ruled that is a form of free speech protected by the Constitution.  I know of a case in California where a motorist was having difficulty seeing because the oncoming car had its bright lights on; the motorist flashed his lights and it turned out to be a cop who pulled him over, then tried every which way to find an excuse to write the motorist a ticket. I also knew a fellow who used to flash his lights at hookers instead of honking his horn like the rest of us.

Q. I know that California is in a drought, but I just heard it could be the worst in 500 years?  (Kyle ~ Natchez, MS)
A. That’s what the climatologists are saying.  Drought also means more brush and forest fires are in the offing.  Things are so bad; I’ve decided to rename my dog, “Pierre.”

REPORT: GOVERNMENT KNEW ABOUT BENGHAZI

There have been reports that President Obama was told by top generals during the attack that it was a terrorist action.  Now, FOX NEWS is reporting that the top CIA agent on the ground in Libya, Michael Morell, reported just four days after the massacre and the day before Susan Rice went on national television with the wild video story, that the attacks were not the result of an escalation of protest violence.

COMMENTS:
In other words, Rice had no basis or reason to go public with her rambunctious assertion that the video was the cause, unless she was told to.  Now back to the question of… who told her to and why?  It was a prefabricated lie; who authored it?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The way Obama tried to paint the picture the other night against O’Reilly, you’d think that FOX NEWS was the villain on the stage.  We can see right through this.  (Corky ~ Goleta, CA)
A. You hit the nail on the head; Obama is twisting every way but… loose.  It’s as if he is saying that unless you agree with everything he says and does, you’re an enemy and you don’t even belong on the stage.  It's no secret that the White House has tried everything possible to force FOX to shut down.  I don’t know about you, but I’m so very anxious to see Mr. Obama’s big and final day… “Exit, stage left.”

Q. I just can’t fathom how Obama has lasted this long.  He’s had mistake after mistake, scandal after scandal, and he’s told lie after lie.  How does he do it?  (Irma ~ Youngstown, OH)
A. It’s an old trick.  You can’t have just one bad scandal or everyone will attack it and you’ll be toast.  You have to have a second scandal to detract from the first, a third debacle to detract from the second…. You get the picture.  Isn’t it absolutely true that is what Obama has done?  The day of his reckoning will be when he can’t develop something new to detract from the last.  That’s one of the primary reasons getting at the truth about the Benghazi Massacre is so vitally important.  Let’s take three stories, Benghazi, IRS and ObamaCare and really zero in on them and agree that whatever new comes up by way of other scandals… we’ll ignore.  If we can do that and do it well, Obama won’t last until the fall elections.

Q. Are you worried about the stock market going down?  (Keith ~ Liberal, KS)
A. Not a bit; I sold all of my stock.  I was going to buy manure with it, but there’s so much manure floating around in Washington that the price is in the toilet.  So, I invested in dead fish; I’m going to put one in the back seat of every politician’s car during the November elections. Half the experts say it’s a “market correction,” and the other half says it’s the beginning of another huge sell-off and plunge.  We’ll know by this time next week.

IRS BONUSES EMPLOYEES AGAINST CONGRESSIONAL DIRECTIONS

The IRS has reinstated bonuses to employees involved in the illegal targeting of conservative groups and organizations.  “The IRS is accused of targeting conservative groups, with many of its employees having conducted themselves in a manner inappropriate for government officials, and the agency decides to reinstate employee bonuses?” asked Senator Orin Hatch.  “This is outrageous.”

COMMENTS:
I don’t know how Hatch could have expected anything different from an Administration or one of its agencies who have a cavalier disregard for ethics and truth in government.  There is rampant corruption and outright oppression going on in our government right now and no one seems to have the balls to do anything about it except to yap. This is what is known in Obama circles as an "up yours."

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What did you think of O’Reilly’s interview with Obama Sunday and last night?  (Lana ~ Geyserville, CA)
A. I was too busy betting on Denver before Sunday’s game to watch it, and too busy with a sick stomach to watch it on Monday.  From what I hear, it was over-hyped.

Q. There’s so much concern about California’s drought; they were talking about grabbing more water from northern California but the environmentalists are saying that would destroy fish and wildlife in the north.  John Boehner says he does not understand why Californians are so intent on putting fish before humans.  What do you think?  (Patsy ~ Medford, OR)
A. I will say that in the state of California, fish are smarter than politicians.  Northern California is also in one bad drought.  Besides, with all of their high taxes and anti-gun legislation, California is chasing out the population like crazy and there won’t be any people left to drink the water anyway.  But, buy your California wine now; the price of grapes is going up.

Q. Do you think they’re going to nail Chris Christie on this bridge closing charge?  (Xenia ~ Tooele, UT)
A. I don’t think so.  I think it’s all about keeping the public's attention away from the ObamaCare disaster and Benghazi Massacre.  Then again, I didn’t think they’d nail Spiro Agnew, either.
