ABOUT THAT NSA LEAKER

Reality Winner, evidently her real name, has been arrested on charges that she leaked classified information from an NSA report to “The Intercept.”  She became a government contractor in February of 2017 and has a Top Secret security clearance. She also had a lengthy history on social media of posts against Trump going back prior to her getting the job. 

COMMENTS:

I’m glad they caught her, but one has to wonder how she got her Top Secret clearance in the first place, given her social media postings.  One also has to wonder how they are going to “vet” travelers from the Middle East if they can’t even adequately investigate a U.S. citizen, a former Air Force enlistee, in the process of getting a security clearance.

Great Britain and Germany have both been sharply critical of Poland’s adamant refusal to take in a chunk of Syrian refugees.  “When it comes to reducing the chances of Poland being hit by [Islamist] terror attacks, the only proven method is to not allow in Muslim migrants,” Ryszard Czarnecki, Poland’s Senior MEP said.  Take that and smoke it, Theresa May.

A. They’re not investigating Fast and Furious; the goals of the hearing are to "identify what the new officials at the Department of Justice can learn from the mistakes made by their predecessors in responding to Congress's inquiry" and "to understand the effect of the Justice Department's obstruction on these witnesses." In plain English, they’re spending taxpayer money trying to figure out how they got outsmarted by Eric Holder and Barack Obama.  What a waste; we can tell them for free! 

Q. Why is Congress getting bogged down with these ridiculous “investigations” on the Trump-Russian story?  (Dick ~ Woodland, CA)

A. Because that’s what the progressives want them to do, and both McConnell and Ryan seem to be more than willing to go along with the program.

DISH GETS DISSED

Dish Network got ordered to pay out $252 million to the U.S. and four states for repeatedly using robocalls in violation of the law to those on do-not-call lists.

A. The Obama administration banned uranium mining there in 2012; now, Utah and Arizona mining interests are trying to get the ban overturned by Trump.  One has to ask why, if we really need uranium…. Why did we allow Clinton to sell off up to half of our uranium reserves to Russia?   

Q. What steps can we take right now to reduce the threat of terrorist activities in America?  (Mal ~ Redding, CA)

A. First of all, we have to quit being so politically correct and recognize that the threat is real, every minute of every day.  Secondly, we have to deal with the threat head on…no pussy-footing around.  There’s nothing wrong with hauling suspected terrorists in for questioning before they do something.  We also have to make it clear to the Muslin community that they are either for us, or they are against us, and if they are against us they are going to be surveilled and infiltrated.  Finally, we have to obliterate their safe havens everywhere, force them out to where we can eliminate them or capture them and send them to Gitmo.

CNN TERRORIST CALLS TRUMP A “PIECE OF S**T”

Reza Aslan, who hosts CNN’s “Believer with Reza Aslan,” called Trump a “piece of shit” and an “embarrassment to humankind” after Trump advocated from his personal Twitter account to keep America safe from Islamic terror with a “travel ban.”

COMMENTS:

We are in a war.  It’s a war against left-wing Islamic terrorists disguised as CNN hosts, comediennes and so-called “journalists.”  It’s a battle not only for the soul of our country, but for the existence of Christianity and Judaism.  We’d better wake up to the truth: It’s us vs. them, and being politically correct is not going to win the day.

A. Because we own and carry guns.  We’re not sitting ducks, like they are over there.  But, we cannot be complacent, because the terrorists are willing to use their guns and knives to kill, and they lay awake at night dreaming of ways to do it. 

Q. Do I understand they’re cutting off all veteran’s benefits for vets over the age of 65?  (Norman ~ Ft. Worth, TX)

A. That’s not entirely correct, but there is a great deal of truth to it.  Veterans eligible now for IU benefits have a 60-100 percent disability rating but are all paid at the 100 percent rate because a service-connected disability makes them unable to work. The budget proposal would cut off IU payments once the veteran reaches the minimum age for Social Security.  The proposed cuts could impact about 225,000 vets currently receiving IU. At a House hearing last month, VA Secretary Dr. David Shulkin said that about 7,000 of those vets are over the age of 80.  The real problem I have with this is that military personnel were promised certain benefits when they signed up; changing them not only amounts to a breach of contract, but to a breach of trust as well.  We’re Americans; we should know better.

A. They are saying that it is perfectly okay with them if some nutcase or terrorist actually beheads the President of the United States.  They are also saying that civility and morality has no place in this country.  In my considered opinion, we need to purge this country of such traitorous anarchists… the sooner the better.  How can we possibly justify patronizing them?

U.S. JOB MARKET SOARS

First off, I need to issue a correction and an apology for misrepresenting the facts yesterday about the House Intelligence Committee’s subpoena against intelligence agencies.  I indicated that John Brennan, Samantha Powers and Susan Rice had been subpoenaed; they had not.  The agencies were subpoenaed to bring documents about the three individuals regarding their potential involvement in illegal unmasking of names in intelligence records. 

The country added some 253,000 jobs last month according to a recent ADP report. 

COMMENTS:

Gosh, Trump is surely doing a disastrous job, isn’t he?  He really needs to be impeached, doesn’t he?  How the leftists in this country can consider it their job to trash a President who is doing so much of a better job than their idol, Obama, is beyond me.  I guess they like being out of work… while we pay for it.

A. I think a lot of people, like me, have simply quit watching FOX NEWS; that doesn’t mean I’ve switched to CNN.  So, viewership at FOX is down, but viewership at CNN is not necessarily going up.  This is due in large part to the FOX NEWS change from being fair and balanced, or somewhat neutral, to becoming more liberal.  They try to be subtle about it, but we’re simply not as dumb as we look… are we?

A. Give her a break; she’s just trying so very hard to remain relevant.

LONG, HOT SUMMER BREWING IN WASHINGTON?

Three of the nation’s intelligence agencies received subpoenas Wednesday afternoon from the House Intelligence Committee, with each of the three subpoenas to: Susan Rice, who served as President Obama’s White House national security adviser; former CIA Director John Brennan; and former U.N. ambassador Samantha Power, also demanding associated documents.  The House panel appears to be intensifying its investigation into allegations that Obama-era aides improperly demanded the “unmasking” of names of associates of President Trump that had appeared, in coded form, in classified intelligence reports, then leaked the data to news media organizations.

COMMENTS:

When is the last time any Republican investigation in Congress ended up producing anything?  Benghazi?  Fast and Furious?  Clinton Email Scandals?  IRS Targeting Scandals?  As much as I believe somebody needs to go to jail over this, I’m not holding my breath.
