NRA PROVES AMERICANS DON’T WANT ANTI-GUN LAWS

The vast majority of Americans support the right to use deadly force to protect themselves - even in public places - and 68% have a favorable view of the National Rifle Association, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed.  On the other hand, there was also strong support from participants for background checks as well as limiting the sale of automatic weapons and keeping guns out of churches, stores and workplaces.

COMMENTS:
To start off with, crimes committed with guns most often occur on the streets and alleys.  Licensed carriers of concealed weapons rarely… rarely… ever use their weapons for anything other than practice, let alone in churches, stores and workplaces.  Most crimes committed with guns are not legally owned by the perpetrators.  What all of this adds up to is that we need better enforcement of existing laws, a viewpoint shared with me by the NRA.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you believe the Republicans will do a better job than the Democrats have done if we turn in a Republican Senate and House in November?  (Denny ~ Seattle, WA)
A. Judging by history, the answer is an unqualified “no.”  The fundamental problem is that a culture of greed and corruption has taken over our government.  In 2010, we made a substantial gain on this problem by replacing a whole lot of Congressional Members, both Democrat and Republican.  This time around, we need to replace another 1/3 of the Senate and the rest of the members of the House who were not replaced in 2010.  Then, and only then, can we stand a chance to get rid of the “culture,” and I don’t particularly care at this point what party they belong to or are replaced with.

Q. A report yesterday indicates that inflation is increasing faster than wages.  This means more people, particularly those who have been barely scraping by, are going to be forced onto the welfare rolls.  More people are going to dive into poverty.  More people are going to lose houses, cars, and self-dignity.  What can we do to stop all of this?  (Tammy ~ Milpitas, CA)
A. Change the people in our government at least as often as we change diapers.  The stench is the same in both cases, by the way.
 Q. Obama’s income tax rate is lower than the rate charged to his secretary.  So, what does that prove?  (Bonita ~ Napa, CA)
A. It puts him in the exact same category as Warren Buffet.  It also proves that he doesn’t practice what he preaches.

NORTH KOREA MISSILE TEST FIZZLES

North Korea acknowledged in an announcement broadcast on state TV that a satellite launched yesterday from the west coast failed to enter into orbit. The U.S. and South Korea also declared the launch a failure.

COMMENTS:
Nevertheless, from each test comes an advance in knowledge even when there is a failure.  And the U.S. condemnation of the test is like a parakeet telling a buzzard off.  We know that North Korea has nuclear weapons and we haven’t even discussed that fact; we vowed that would never, ever happen… but it has.  Our threats to any government, including North Korea, have become as worthless as a paper tiger.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now the jobless claims are up.  That’s another bad sign.  Is the economy going to tank again?  (Justin ~ Aberdeen, SD)
A. Yes, but don’t fret about it.  It’ll be Bush’s fault.

Q. The GSA debacle continues to grow.  There will be hearings in Congress and nothing will be done.  How can we stop this bull?  (Kelvin ~ Forks, WA)
A. Vote for Obama in November; he’ll clean this stuff up.  Remember, he promised to do so in 2008 when he was running.  And remember, he knew in May of last year that GSA was doing these things and jumped right on the matter to stop it… in March of 2012, immediately after the story broke.  You can trust Obama to do what is right and proper.  Yes, siree.

Q. A recent report shows that women White House employees get paid 18% less than their male counterparts.  Isn’t this constitutionally an illegal discrimination based on sex?  (Phyllis ~ Lawrence, KS)
A. Yes.  However, this White House does not recognize the Constitution as being an instrument of law.  It is to them merely words written in the wind by people who no longer exist.

OBAMA SUING SHERIFF JOE

The Obama administration has decided to sue Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his department for racial-profiling that violates civil rights laws by improperly targeting Latinos when enforcing immigration law. The Justice Department claims officers made unlawful arrests of Latinos, used excessive force against them and failed to adequately protect the Hispanic community in Maricopa County.

COMMENTS:
Here’s a local sheriff enforcing the Federal law and getting sued by the Federal Government for doing so.  It’s retaliation against a sheriff who defies Obama’s demands and who has the audacity to investigate Obama’s place of birth.  The Storm Troopers are warming up in the bull pen.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What’s all the fuss about Obama’s choice to head the World Bank?  (Ollie ~ Eureka, CA)
A. He picked a foreigner, Jim Yong Kim.  There is no word at this point whether the guy is related to Kim Jong Un.

Q. Is Romney trying to ride Reagan’s coattails?  (Jason ~ Boise, ID)
A. If he is, he’s going to make a fool out of himself.  Romney is no Ronald Reagan.  Reagan would have committed suicide before he allowed a bill like RomneyCare to pass.  And Reagan didn’t hide his financial statements, either.

Q. What do you think about Zimmerman being charged with Murder 2?  (Bradley ~ Seaside, CA)
A. He’s now been charged, tried and convicted and never seen the inside of a court room.  I think we are very close to having a race war on our hands.  Obama, the Black Panthers and the radical black Muslims of this country are boiling over with outright venomous hatred of whites.

U.S. – RUSSIAN RELATIONS TO GET WORSE?

LIGNET.com is forecasting that U.S. - Russian relations will worsen after Vladimir Putin regains control of Russia May 4th.

COMMENTS:
I disagree.  Certainly Putin is iron-fisted and a skillful executioner.  But, he’s also an avowed Socialist, even a Communist, and Barack Hussein Obama is also a staunch and unabashed Socialist.  I think relations with Russia will improve after November and Obama’s reelection; the whisper in Putin’s ear was just the tip of the Titanic.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. With all of the racial rhetoric heating up from the Black Panthers and the blacks in general over Trayvon Martin and with Obama fanning the flames, I’m wondering if this is deliberate.  Are they trying to start a race war?  (Walter ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. It does seem like it, doesn’t it?  Maybe they figure if they can get blacks riled up enough to riot in the streets, we’ll be afraid to show up at the polls in November and vote the worst president this country has ever had out of office.  A lot of things in this country are getting really ugly right now, and I don’t like it either.

Q. Now that Santorum has bowed out, that surely makes Romney the nominee.  How do you feel about that?  (Lynda ~ Stockton, CA)
A. Here we are, stuck with a guy who rarely got over 40% of the vote in his own party and who now stacks up at 44% against Barack Obama.  The Republicans have once again managed to put a guy up for the Presidency who will not beat Obama.  How do you think I feel?  I’m sick to my stomach at what is going to happen to this country.

Q. Now Jeremiah Wright has attacked the Tea Party, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson… he rattled off a list of people who he says are not going to get into heaven.  He’s stirred racial hatred and bigotry again… they all are.  What are we going to do about it?  (Nolan ~ Palo Cedro, CA)
A. Bend over and stand on the freeway, Nolan.  They’re just warming up.  And, there’s nothing we can do about it because Americans are not ready to commit themselves to ridding our country of stench like him.  Otherwise, Romney would not be the nominee.  Furthermore, if Jeremiah Wright makes it to heaven, I've been reading the wrong Bible.

ECONOMY HEADS SOUTH AGAIN!!!

The White House has reluctantly revised its figures again.  This time, they admit that the jobs figures recently released, which were not all that good, were far worse than projected.  That news, combined with soaring gas and diesel prices, rising inflation and the fact that Americans have declining disposable income adds up to one thing: more trouble is on the way.

COMMENTS:
I forecast this would happen last year, so it is arriving later than I expected.  But, it is arriving and you need to hang on for dear life because this has all of the earmarks of being much worse than we can imagine.  Don’t spend a nickel you don’t absolutely have to and cancel your vacation plans for the summer; Easter Sunday may well have been our last driving fling for months, or years, to come.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What’s this about the White House diverting $500 million from the Health Care fund to the IRS?  (Shane ~ Butte, MT)
A. That’s in addition to the 4,000 + new agents the IRS is going to hire to police the ObamaCare requirements and to make sure you comply.  In the event that you do not, be advised that training for the firing squads starts next month in Quantico, Virginia.

Q. Yesterday I heard on Fox that U.S. companies are selling technology to foreign countries that is illegal to own or sell in the U.S.  The software can be used to snoop on your cell phone conversations and monitor your internet traffic and, since it is being used overseas, this enables foreign governments and even the U.S. to snoop on you from outside the country when it is illegal to do so inside the U.S.  This is getting to be really scary stuff.  (Viola ~ Bellingham, WA)
A. You mean, this is not the “change” you voted for?  If this scares you, start reading about some of the “changes” that took place in Germany before Hitler became a world enemy.  Read about some of the “change” that took place under Mussolini.  Then stop and take a look at what “changes” are going in in this country right now.  That’s scary stuff.

Q. Now there’s some serious talk about Gingrich and Santorum getting out.  Even Newt agrees that Mitt probably has everything sewn up.  Do you think some announcements are imminent? (James ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. Only their hairdressers know for sure.
