MARINE FACES TRIAL OVER "ILLEGAL" GUN POSSESSION

A U.S. Marine from Indiana, traveling in New York City in September, stopped to declare his gun as he was entering the Empire State Building.  He was promptly arrested and now faces trial for illegal carrying of a concealed weapon in New York City, where it’s illegal; the gun was legally registered in Indiana.  Ryan Jerome could face three and a half years in prison if the case goes to trial and he is convicted of carrying the weapon against New York State law.

COMMENTS:
Here’s a fact.  I was traveling from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara.  As I changed planes at Los Angeles, I realized that I had my pistol in my briefcase.  I had already made it past security checkpoints.  This was an honest mistake on my part; I had forgotten the gun was there.  I elected not to say anything and flew on to Santa Barbara without incident.  Jerome thought he was legal and that he should declare his gun as required before entering the Empire State Building.  His was an honest mistake; he was no more a criminal than I was.  When common sense cannot prevail because idiots rigidly apply ridiculous laws, we have tyranny.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now that Huntsman is out, who do you like?  (Myrtle ~ Arlington, WA)
A. I endorsed Gingrich and stand by that.  Gingrich is by far the best of the lot.  That doesn’t mean he is my knight on a great white horse, but he is the best of the lot.  As for Huntsman, the fact that he is endorsing Romney on the way out speaks volumes to me about why I didn’t endorse him.

Q. Gingrich has been chastised for attacking Romney.  Will that hurt him?  (Marina ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. I don’t think anyone in the country really wants to hear any more negative attack ads.  He should stay on the positive and differentiate himself from Romney and he will surge to a win.  Just because Obama and his cronies believe in negative attack ads doesn’t mean that Americans like them.  In fact, we’re sick and tired of all of the B.S.  We need to get down to the business of running the nation, and in a positive manner for a change.

Q. I didn’t even know Russia had a mission going to Mars, let alone that it had failed to leave orbit back in November and crashed into the Pacific Ocean near Chile on Sunday.  Why wasn’t this covered, and doesn’t this just prove that Russia is way behind us in space technology? (Bo ~ Bend, OR)
A. It wasn’t big news because we were in the middle of a Congressional financial crisis and the failure of the “Super” Committee.  As far as Russia’s space technology goes, does it bother you to know that right now, they are the only source of transport for our Americans aboard the Space Station?

AHMADINEJAD SHOOTS MOUTH OFF AGAIN

Iran’s leader is warning nearby Middle East countries not to join sanctions against Iran.  Further, according to recent statements, if they raise oil output to make up for sanctions against Iranian oil, they will face “dire consequences.”  To make matters stickier, China and Russia are evidently backing Iran.

COMMENTS:
I keep saying that we should not think that Iran is all mouth and no rear-end.  I would not put it past them to take some military action; they think differently than we do.  They are martyrs and we tend not to understand that they don’t care about retribution from us or anyone else if they nuke Israel.  They are prepared to have their virgins and be done with it.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you make of the Republican hierarchy cry for two of the remaining candidates to drop out do that Romney can have a “clear victory” going into the convention?  (Vic ~ Santa Clara, CA)
A. Actually, that’s not a bad idea because, if two drop out, their votes will gravitate not to Romney but to one of the remaining candidates and then, maybe, a challenger to Romney shall emerge.  But, don’t look for any action in that direction before the South Carolina primaries.

Q. Obama is said to be privately warning Israel not to do a pre-emptive strike against Iran.  How do you expect Israel to react to that?  (Offie ~ Menlo Park, CA)
A. I don’t think they will give it a second of thought.  If you are expecting that an enemy will nuke you at any moment and you have an opportunity to strike first and eliminate your danger, what are you going to do?

Q. How are energy prices holding up this winter?  (Kevin ~ Morgan Hill, CA)
A. Natural gas prices are down.  The country is flush with natural gas as a result of new drilling techniques that have enabled energy companies to tap vast supplies that were out of reach not so long ago.  Also, it is a political year and natural gas is in abundance.

CRUISE SHIP TRAGEDY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED

The Carnival Cruise ship Costa Concordia and 4,200+ people ended up in the drink Friday after the ship allegedly struck a sandbar off the Coast of Italy.

COMMENTS:
Today’s luxury cruise liners have the most sophisticated navigation, weather and safety equipment aboard in history.  Computerized charts guide the ships with GPS technology.  The only way this ship should have been near that sandbar is through an engine failure coupled with loss of steerage and bad weather, or negligence and dereliction of duty.  The weather was reportedly good and the engines properly functioning; no steerage had been lost.  I think the Captain and associated top crew members are in deep trouble.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The investigation into the Solyndra Scandal seems to be back on track.  What’s the latest?  (Herb ~ Pocatello, ID)
A. They now know for certain that top White House aides knew that Solyndra was in financial trouble and going to lay off employees before the 2010 election.  If properly uncovered, the evidence will ultimately show that money from the ill-fated loans went back into the hands of top company officials who, in turn, contributed heavily to Obama’s campaign chest.

Q. I hear that there is now a lawsuit against Obama’s “recess” appointments of three NRLB officials.  Is there anything inherently wrong with the officials themselves, or just the process?  (Theo ~ Pittsburg, PA)
A. All three have very strong associations with unions and organized labor.  Therefore, the NRLB is now controlled by the unions, whereas its charter was supposed to keep it neutral.  As a result, Obama and the unions can now virtually control everything in the labor sector including, I presume, how union members vote.

Q. How do you think Martin Luther King Jr. would view Barack Obama?  (Andy ~ Elk Grove, CA)
A. I think he’d be very upset.  He might even disown Obama.  Obama has treated blacks very badly, just as he has done with the rest of the country but… more so.

OBAMA MUST PRODUCE BIRTH CERTIFICATE? COURT ORDER!

Georgia Judge Michael Malihi has denied Obama’s request to dismiss the case demanding that he produce his birth certificate.  The Judge ruled that Georgia law is very explicit in that candidates for the Presidency must prove their eligibility and George voters have the right to challenge the authenticity thereof.

COMMENTS:
This will probably next move into a Federal Court of Appeals, so don’t get your hopes up.  I don’t know that there will be any final decision on this issue until after the November elections because, if Obama loses the appeal, he’ll go on to the Supreme Court with it.  However, I would like to see a lawsuit challenging his right to be on the ballot in 2012 until he produces a bonafide birth certificate.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Wow!  I see Obama wants to consolidate some agencies and save money!  Maybe there’s hope for him yet?  (Shilo ~ Medford, OR)
A. Come on, get real.  This will potentially save $3 billion, he says.  His math has never been right on anything he has said; it has been 100% wrong.  Beyond that, this comes the day after he asked for a $1.2 trillion increase in the national debt.  Now, who is kidding who here?

Q. I hear that Michelle Malkin is lambasting Obama’s appointment of Cecilia Munoz to be in charge of the Domestic Policy Council. Why?  (Brent ~ Alturas, CA)
A. Munoz has spent a lot of time over two decades actively promoting the rights of illegal immigrants over the rights of American citizens and post 9/11 national security efforts.

Q. I heard something on the news about gas prices going up by 25 cents a gallon or more.  Is it due to the Iranian crisis?  (Melanie ~ Barstow, CA)
A. No, it is due to new EPA regulations.  This damned government needs to be dismantled, bureaucrat by bureaucrat.

OBAMA FLAGRANTLY VIOLATES CONSITUTION

President Obama’s recent appointments of four people to high-level government positions openly violates the Constitution which requires Congressional approval.  These appointments were not made during a Congressional recess, which would give him the right to make the appointments on an “emergency” basis.  The Congress was not in recess, although it was not meeting.  Obama appointed Richard Cordray to lead the Consumer Protection Bureau and appointed three persons to the National Labor Relations Boards. Two of these newly appointed members never even filed the proper background paperwork and, in fact, were only nominated in December.  The U.S. Attorney General has basically told Congress, "tough shitskies."

COMMENTS:
And once again, the Congress will bellyache and do nothing about it and America doesn’t have the sense to pick the right people to run our government.  Americans will rue the day that they picked Romney to run against Obama.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I know you endorsed Gingrich, but it looks like Romney is in the driver’s seat.  How do you feel about that?  (Jerry ~ El Paso, TX)
A. I’m not one damned bit happy.  It’s time for the Tea Party to get its act together, to join forces and become a political entity.  It won’t make any difference in this election, but that can be geared up for 2014 and 2016.  I’m finished with the Republicans; finished.  Does that mean I’ll vote for Obama?  No way in hell.  I’ll vote against Romney in the primary when it reaches California and then I’m switching to Independent.

Q. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has blasted the Tea Party for its lack of civility.  Is she out of her tree?  (John ~ Redding, CA)
A. When she said that, she also implied that the Tea Party was responsible for the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords.  She is a lunatic.  I can’t even describe her as being a far-left liberal.  She’s just a loon.  The fact that the Democrats put her in charge of their party is indicative of their gutter-low standards.

Q. I heard that the national debt now equals the entire U.S. economy.  What does that mean?  (Karyn ~ Montecito, CA)
A. It means, like Greece and Italy, we’re in deep, deep trouble.  Our situation is one big giant house of cards that will soon come tumbling down like a bad avalanche.

TODAY’S QUOTE:
"Well, first of all, I think that a lot of the voters who are voting for the tea party candidates have really good impulses. That is, they believe that for years and years and years, the people with wealth and power or government power have done well and ordinary people have not. That's true." ~ William J. Clinton
