Anne Verrill, owner of two Portland-area restaurants,
wrote on Facebook that anyone who owns—or even supports an
individual’s right to own an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, may “no
longer enter either of my restaurants, because the only thing I want to teach
my children is love.” She reached this
decision after the Orlando nightclub attack.
COMMENTS:
Well, I wouldn’t want to eat in a restaurant where a gun-wielding
nutcase can come walking in the door and start shooting and there’s nothing I can
do about it except to die. She can keep
her love, I’ll keep my life. And while we're at it, isn't that a form of discrimination and a violation of my First and Second Amendment Rights?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Your thoughts on the recent firings and resignations from
the DNC? (Ernest ~ Dayton, NV)
A. They don’t need to be around, anyway; Clinton campaign
staffers will pretty much be running the DNC show from now on and that’s not
unusual. So why the big ruckus about
it? I look for the HRC people to use the
resignations as a way of “cleansing” Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’ image to help
her win in Florida, which the Democrats badly need. Within
a couple of weeks, Schultz will be as pure and clean as the girls on the Ivory
Soap box.
Q. How can Obama have the nerve to call Trump unfit for
office? (Judith ~ Binghamton, NY)
A. Yeah, that is kind of like a Black calling the pot a
kettle, isn’t it?
Q. I think Trump is right when he refuses to back either
Ryan or McCain for reelection this year.
Neither one deserves to be in office.
(Gus ~ Lemoore, CA)
A. You are correct: they are not part of the solution, so they
must be part of the problem. I hope
voters have enough sense to vote the “establishment” out, regardless of party
affiliation.
