BIRD FLU VIRUS FLIES BACK ON STAGE

The H5N1 Bird Flu Virus was purported to be the next world-wide plague, capable of killing millions of people.  Fortunately, it turned out that you need to be in close contact with someone else who has the virus in order to get it yourself.  However, a group of Dutch scientists has created a new bird flu virus that can be transmitted simply by breathing or sneezing.  Officials are asking them not to make their findings public, as this could open the door for bio-terrorism, but the scientists want to make everything public. 

COMMENTS:

Why they had to experiment and create the advanced virus is beyond me.  What is this world coming to?  Now, we have an issue to deal with and a danger to worldwide security in the hands of some crackpot scientists.  According to the Mayan calendar, the world is supposed to end next year on December 21^st, but I’m beginning to doubt that we can survive that long with idiots like this on the loose.  Next thing you know, they'll be White House Czars.

A. Illegal aliens who want Congress and the President to let them vote in the next election.  If you think I’m kidding, keep your eye on the news. 

Q. They asked Sarah Palin the other night who she liked as a candidate and she indicated she wasn’t really sold on any of them and they asked her if she might go ahead and run and she ducked the question by saying it’s not too late for someone to get in.  Do you think she might run and, if she did, what impact would it have on the current field? 

A. I don’t think she is ready to handle Obama on the debate stage, but she might win anyway if she did run.  She is probably calculating those odds; if she teamed up with Gingrich or Bachmann, or even Perry, I think she would be tough to beat.  As for the rest of the field, I think she would immediately soar to the top of the charts and stay there, Romney would plummet, Gingrich would hold his own and the rest would go bye-bye.

I think it was a dirty trick for the Senate to refuse to put the House bill on the payroll tax cut to a vote, to then turn around and pass their own two-month bill and to have Obama make a speech against the House while the Senators headed home for the holidays.  They are just like a bunch of kindergarten kids in Congress.  Don’t they have even a hint of how angry we Americans are at them?  (Maureen ~ San Rafael, CA)

A. No, they have no hint.  They don’t want a hint.  They do not care what you or I think.  You need to understand that they are so self-absorbed that they have become demagogues.

AT&T HANGS UP ON T-MOBILE

AT&T has bowed to federal regulators concerned that its proposed purchase of T-Mobile would drive up prices, reduce competition and stall innovation; it is cancelling its $39 buyout deal that would have made it the nation’s largest phone company. 

COMMENTS:

Back in the ‘30’s, they decided to split up some of the major oil companies and other conglomerates and things got better in American business.  I think the time has come for that to happen again.  But, big business has big lobbyists and that’s how things got the way they are in Washington.  All of this nonsense has to stop, and there’s not one candidate talking about it.

A. Romney will not get my vote in the primaries and, should he win anyway, I will not vote for him in November; nor will I vote for Obama.  Neither one of them deserves to be President.   They'll need a "None of the Above" slot on the ballots to get me to vote. 

Q. How do you feel about John Boehner’s insistence that the House will not pass the two-month payroll tax cut extension, but will try again for one year?  (Kim ~ Reno, NV)

A. Here they go again.  The House Republicans will again cave in at the last moment.  History is bound to repeat itself, as it has again and again and again.

From Reuters:  “The last convoy of U.S. soldiers pulled out of Iraq on Sunday, ending nearly nine years of war that cost almost 4,500 American and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives, and left a country grappling with political uncertainty.” 

COMMENTS:

Now, here’s my problem.  We gave Saddam and his boys almost a year’s notice after 9/11 before we went in, so he had plenty of time to hide his weapons.  If we were going to invade Iraq, we should have done it within days of hitting Afghanistan.  Otherwise, we should have stayed out.  So, I’m not happy that we got there in the first place; but, we did.  We didn’t fight this war to win it; our troops had their hands tied behind their backs.  The whole scenario is ugly, but now we’re getting out and Iran is drooling.  How do you feel about 4,500 American lives being lost for nothing and under the circumstances?  So, we made two mistakes: (1) going in late and (2) getting out early.  Bush and Obama can share the blame on this one.

A. I respond by stating that the DES MOINES REGISTER, a liberal left newspaper in Iowa,  backed Obama in the last election and now they are backing Romney.  I don’t see him as being as radical left as Obama and he will be nowhere near Reagan.  I think he’ll be just a tad worse than either Bush. 

Q. We have been secretly negotiating with the Taliban for over 10 months.  Do you think the talks will be fruitful?  (Cheeter ~ Hot Springs, AR)

A. The Taliban deals from a position of strength; we do not.  They may meet some short-term deal, but they will never achieve a long-lasting mutual accord, especially with this regime that’s in charge in the U.S.  Send the dance orchestra home.     

Q. Do you think we should put term limits on Congress?  (Willie ~ Sacramento, CA)

A. No.  It’s our job to pay attention and to get rid of the bad apples.  We’ve been lazy and haven’t been fully informed when we go to the polls.  If we can resolve this problem, we don’t need term limits.  We also need to do something about the lobbyists.

TOTALLY UGLY SMEAR ATTEMPT AGAINST GINGRICH

Yahoo News is reporting a Washington Post article smearing Newt Gingrich on its face that is a totally manufactured attack on its face.  http:/news.yahoo.com/fbi-considered-sting-aimed-gingrich-014000611.html The short story is that the FBI considered a sting on Gingrich when he was Speaker of the House due to information that his then wife was trying to sell his influence in an illegal arms deal.  The FBI looked the facts over, decided there was no evidence and dropped the matter.  Now, 16 years later, it hits the newspaper in a sinister way. 

COMMENTS:

These are the same general people who went after Cain with malicious gossip that never had any substance.  They are unprincipled connivers and liars.  These people need to be exposed for who and what they are; treacherous purveyors of mistruths, half-truths and innuendos. They need to have something concrete up their endos.  Now, watch the Romney Republican “Washington Insiders” jump on the band wagon.

Q. I wasn’t aware that Congress was about to mandate we all had to have fluorescent, LED or other non-incandescent light bulbs, but read that the House stopped it.  What was their thinking?  (Tip ~ Santa Fe, NM)

A. They wanted to further intrude government into our lives.  Ostensibly, it was an energy saving idea, but it takes more energy to manufacture these new bulbs than the old ones.  Many also contain mercury and must be disposed of by a hazmat expert in protective gear in back of the barn where we used to smoke as kids.  It’s already the law in California where I live and it’s stupid.  I don’t like the light it produces and the damned things cost as much as a house.  Obama, the EPA and the creeps from the Black Lagoon came up with this idea.  

Q. Gingrich has come out against gay marriage and abortion.  How do you think those stances will affect his chances?  (Lori ~ Grants Pass, OR)

A. That’s difficult to judge.  I think he’ll get more Christian conservatives, but he may lose some independents.  I am also against gay marriage and as for abortion, I’m against it except for rape, incest and where the life of the fetus or mother is endangered.  The question of when a fetus becomes a human being is moot; if you kill a fetus, you deprive a soul of life, period.   

Q. The Republican hierarchy is doing everything it can to dump Newt despite his popularity.  Why are they so dead-set on Romney?  (Jim ~ Yuba City, CA)

A. Because they think exactly like Democrat elitists who think they know what is best for the country and we lowly peasants do not.  If we all do our jobs in November, every damned Washington politician running for reelection will soon be on the outside looking in.

PUTRID PAYROLL TAX DEAL REACHED

Members from both parties reached a plan to extend the payroll tax cuts by just two months, at which time the President must also reach an agreement to accept the Canadian oil pipeline or must declare that dealing with Canada for oil is not in the nation’s best interests.  The plan must be approved by both Houses. 

COMMENTS:

Obama is not going to be boxed into anything regarding the Canadian pipeline, so look for some shenanigans to thwart this nasty provision.  This is just more proof that Congress is totally dysfunctional and that they do not have the best interests of the nation at heart.  It makes me sick that no one in Washington has the guts to be an American and do their damned jobs.

A. The NLRB, which was suing Boeing to stop its plan to open the plant without union labor in place, has quietly and suddenly dropped its lawsuit. Boeing can now open that plant.  The NLRB and the unions were not even on shaky ground with this move; they were buried in a pile of horseshit and apple butter.   

Q. I can’t believe they just passed over $1 trillion in new spending when they know fully well how we feel about this issue. This pushes 2012 spending above 2011 levels even!  (Kim ~ Menlo Park, CA)

A. Well, succinctly put, the bastards probably realize that we are going to throw their sorry asses out of Congress next year anyway, so they just don’t give a shit.  Sorry for the blunt language but, like you, I am madder than hell.  Tonight, I will go to bed and pray for them all to catch the plague and become infested with worms while they are on break.   

Q. Romney said Thursday night that all illegal aliens have to leave and apply for U.S. citizenship from Mexico like anyone else.  I can’t remember what you said about this recently.   

A. I agree with the sentiment.  However, if someone got here illegally a few years ago, shame on us for letting them in.  If they have established roots and income and relationships, shame on us for not discovering them and deporting them.  If we essentially invite them by giving them health care, education, and immunities, we are just as much at fault here, if not more so, than they are.  So, take the newer ones and ship them out and allow the longer ones to stay here and give them two years to pass the citizenship requirements and if they don’t, then deport them.
