IS PUTIN REBUILDING SOVIET EMPIRE?

“Within Russia, control is the order of the day, with key industries nationalized, the independent media repressed, and the loyal opposition beaten and jailed. Russia uses natural resources as a political weapon. And it plays ball with unstable and dangerous regimes,” according to a recent interview of John Boehner.  This comes after Putin has announced he will resume the Presidency and trade jobs with Medvedev again, and among reports that Putin sees Obama as weak and ineffective.  Now is the time, reports indicate, for Russia to exert its influence in the Baltics and to begin rebuilding the Soviet Union.

A. That’s a typical liberal line.  You demand the right to say whatever you want, whenever you want, and to whomever you want.  But when someone voices disagreement with your opinion, you demand they shut up and go away.  Why are you reading this blog, anyway?  Could it be that you are searching to find out what someone else thinks besides Barack?  If so, you are welcome here; if not, butt out.

A. I find it odd that the husband has not said one peep to anybody about anything, and have to wonder if maybe the child was not harmed by him in a fit of rage or something and the two conspired to cover it up.  Usually, it’s the husband who takes charge, comforts and protects the grieving and concerned wife, and deals with the media.  This is role reversal.  Why?

Q. If they cut defense spending, do you think we can still defend ourselves?  (Dale ~ Redding, CA)

A. Yes.  We spend as much money on defense as the rest of the world combined.  Most of this expense is for technology.  We have plenty of technology for the moment, but not enough personnel.  If we change our emphasis, we can maintain our defense capability and reduce expenses for at least five to ten years.  We also need to quit being the world’s policemen.

OBAMA BLAMES SOMEONE ELSE… AGAIN

President Obama is playing the blame game again.  This time he’s condemning an “increasingly dysfunctional Congress” for his failures to create jobs, get housing moving or solve the economic crisis.  Obama also laid out a theme for his re-election, saying that there's "no excuse for all the games and the gridlock that we've been seeing in Washington."

COMMENTS:

Now, if that isn’t like the pot calling the kettle black, I sure as hell don’t know what is.  By the way, he went on to say that he doesn’t really care if Congress won’t kiss his fanny and do as he orders, he will get things done his way through the use of his executive powers, everyone else be damned.  I was going to add that he needs a thorough psychiatric examination, but we’re the ones who need it for allowing this distasteful and flagrant disregard for our Constitution and our country to go on.

A. The same way he’s been getting away with it for the last three years.  Nobody dares to stop him.  He is accountable to no one.  You cannot name me one person, including his wife, I suspect, to whom he is accountable. 

Q. Why do you think Republican leaders are down on Cain and pushing so hard for Romney when the Republicans themselves are enamored with Cain and cold toward Romney?  (Jess ~ Las Vegas, NV)

A. Because Cain tells things like they are.  He doesn’t spin or beat around the bush like politicians do, and that makes the leadership uncomfortable with him, whereas Romney meets their expectations and conforms to the way they want to run things.  In other words, the Republican leadership sucks. 

Q. What’s this about an inflating volcano?  (Chad ~ Anderson, CA)

A. Uturuncu, a nearly 20,000-foot-high volcano in southwest Bolivia is baffling scientists because it is inflating at an alarming rate.  It bears a striking resemblance to Obama’s ego, and they can’t figure it out.  For me as a lay person, I think the thing is getting ready to blow, much like Obama does when he doesn’t get his way.

HILLARY TELLS IRAN OFF

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made it clear to Iran yesterday that they had better not take our withdrawal from Iraq as being a lack of commitment on our part. 

COMMENTS:

First of all, I need to reiterate that I am surprised that Hillary is doing such a good job as Secretary of State.  In that role, I admire her.  But, anyone who thinks that this President, having now removed U.S. troops from Iraq as he promised his base in 2008, would turn around and take further military action in Iraq to defend them against Iran has not been paying attention to how Barack does business.  For one thing, he has yet to admit that he has made any mistake, and he has made plenty of them.  Iraq is at peril and the lives of our American servicemen and women who were lost there have just been badly denigrated.

A. That’s one more great chess move for Barack Hussein Obama. 

Q. Eric Holder has told off Alabama by saying people there "are willing to turn their backs on our immigrant past."  If I’m not mistaken, everyone except the Mexicans got here legally.  What’s your opinion?  (Ed ~ Bridgeport, CA)

A. Don’t these guys make you sick?  And, they say such things with such a serious and pompous look.   

Q. I see they arrested a bunch of the protestors at “Occupy Wall Street.”  Are you happy now?  (Maggie ~ San Francisco, CA)

A. No.  They continue to protest at the same location and to deprive businesses and residents of their rights.  The right to free speech does not include the right to infringe upon the rights of others.  If they want to rotate locations and conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner, I’m all for it.

NEVADA HAS SENSE, MOVES CAUCUS

While watching other states move their primaries to January and December, Nevada has decided to move their Republican caucus to February, a move that ends an increasingly bitter standoff among rival states and for the first time clarifies the path to the Republican presidential nomination.

COMMENTS:

I for one think that states which are moving their primaries early are doing to the American public a disservice, particularly when it is almost November and there is no clear-cut leader in the field.  It’s an attempt to ensure a Romney win and I resent the fact that the Republican Party is screwing around with my right of choice.  And yes, I’m now definitely not voting for Romney.

A. We don’t, but John McCain thinks he is; he said so last Wednesday.  As for me, I surely doubt that a man of Obama’s stature would ever cheat the public, would he?  Never mind what I’m smoking. 

Q. I understand Steve Jobs and Barack Obama did not get along.  What’s the skinny?  (Jake ~ Minden, NV)

A. Steve told Barack that he would not be back in the White House for a second term unless he adopted more business-friendly policies.  Barack subsequently refused to ask Steve over for a beer in the Rose Garden.

Q. Did Mitt Romney hire illegals to take care of his lawn?  (Sally ~ Weed, CA)

A. It appears that Mitt hired a firm that hired illegals to take care of his yard and, when caught, said he had not hired illegals to do his lawn.  Technically, he’s correct, but I understand he hired the same firm the following year.

MORE STIMULUS SCANDAL: D.O.E. $ TO FINLAND

The Department of Energy, which pushed loans to failed Solyndra and other risky ventures, also guaranteed a $529 million loan to Fisker, a company building electric cars in Finland, according to an ABC News report.  D.O.E. officials have been quick to deny the allegations, claiming that the money was used only for U.S. operations at a shuttered Detroit automotive plant.  But the founder of the company, Henrik Fisker, said that he was unable to find a suitable manufacturer for his car, the Karma, in the U.S. and therefore set up manufacturing in Finland.    

COMMENTS:

The real question here is: How much money did Henrik Fisker contribute to Obama’s 2008 or 2012 Presidential Campaign?  We know that Solyndra executives contributed millions to his coffers and that other companies probably did as well.  This is a serious violation of law.  Why isn’t the House of Representatives investigating this filth to determine whether or not impeachment proceedings should be initiated?

Q. What’s the big flap over the President wanting to pass legislation to get funding for policemen, firefighters and teachers?  (Clarice ~ Monterey Park, CA)

A. The new bill, authored by Harry Reid at Obama's request,  is part of the President’s $500 billion scheme for the so-called jobs bill that even his own political party in the Senate could not tolerate.  He said recently that he intends to pass the bill “piece by piece,” because otherwise the American people are too stupid to comprehend what he is trying to do.  He does not care that we are in deep financial trouble or that a special “Super Committee” in Congress is looking for ways to cut spending.  He does not care what you or Congress thinks or wants, he will prevail.   Besides, all of the above parties belong to unions and he wants their votes in 2012. 

Q. Why is President Obama removing U.S. troops from Iraq now and what do you think will happen?  (Benjamin ~ Carson City, NV)

A. Because he promised his left-wing Marxist friends in 2008 that, when elected President, he would get the troops out of Iraq and he wants their support in the 2012 elections.  Iraq is a fractured nation, politically, ethnically and religiously.  The fragile government will come under almost immediate attack from within and it won’t be long after when Iran invades.  We will then be in a fine kettle of Middle-Eastern soup, and all of the American lives lost there will be for naught.   

Q. Now that Bin Laden and other top Al Qaeda leaders are dead, now that Gadhafi is gone and we are pulling our troops out of Iraq, isn’t Obama a lead-pipe-cinch guaranteed winner for reelection?   

A. One or two rights do not justify an endless list of wrongs.  I refuse to believe that he can be reelected after what he has done to this country.  If he is, he will evolve from being a de facto dictator into becoming an outright despot.
