OBAMACARE FLOUNDERING

Despite accounting for the “glitches,” ObamaCare signups seem to be disturbingly low.  However, the Administration flatly refuses to release any figures. 

COMMENTS:

Another Benghazi cover-up?  TOWNHALL reports: “We know that individual state figures have ranged from bad (Kentucky, where 5.3 percent of visitors enrolled), to negligible (Connecticut, 0.58 percent) to, um, zero: Louisiana’s top health-insurance provider said that not a single person enrolled in a new health-care plan offered through the Affordable Care Act on its first day.”  Americans have no business signing up for this atrocity.

Q. The Supreme Court will soon be hearing the matter of recess appointments made by the President.  The Constitution generally provides that appoints must be ratified by the Senate, unless there is an emergency need to fill the position during Congressional recess.  Obama named several appointees to the National Labor Relations Board over Christmas; that’s what the case is about.  What’s your thinking?  (Garth ~ Diablo, CA)

A. I haven’t had the benefit of reading the Federalist Papers which go into the thinking behind some of the provisions of the Constitution.  My gut reaction is that such an appointment should be made to fill the position until Congress comes back from recess.  In the case coming before the Court, there is the question as to whether or not the Congress was in recess or on vacation, being entirely two different things.   

Q. I just learned that the doctor will no longer be in charge of your treatment under ObamaCare.  Whatever treatment is prescribed for whatever you have must be approved by some meat head bureaucrat?  (Tessie ~ Bellingham, WA)

A.  Correct.  I don’t know, however, that the bureaucrat would necessarily be a meat head; he/she might be a fish head or a chicken head.     

Q. I can’t believe that Obama canceled his schedule trip to Asia because of the government shutdown.  What’s the real reason?  (Billie ~ Casa Grande, AZ)

A. (1) He can’t find anyone to put fuel in Air Force One; (2) the Asians told him to stay home; (3) he’s afraid of what Biden might say while he’s out of town; or (4) his hemorrhoids are bothering him.

I’m going to spout off.  I and several others have been warning of these facts for several years.  We’ve been called every name in the book by those of you who refused to listen.  People have actually gone ballistic telling me what a jerk I am.  In those days, you could have done something about it; now, it’s too late.  So, quit your bellyaching and fork over the money.  Be proud of yourself for calling ME the jerk.

Chad Henderson, a 21-year-old from Flintstone, Georgia, became the “Poster Child” of the ObamaCare White House, the Democratic Party and the left-wing media when he announced that he had successfully signed up for ObamaCare after 14 years of being uninsured and at a cost far less than he anticipated.  "I haven't had health insurance for 14 years," Henderson said. "My dad put me on BlueCross BlueShield, but the premiums kept rising, and we dropped it since he wasn't making that much."  The newspapers and media went after him in a firestorm, trying to get his picture and comments so they could ballyhoo ObamaCare.  Yesterday, he admitted that he hadn’t actually signed up for anything.

A. Well, according to Obama, (if you can believe a word he says), you can relax a little because the government shutdown has caused them to lay off a whole bunch of people who would ordinarily be checking into your phone calls and e-mails. On the down side, I don’t know that our government intends to investigate or curtail these activities now or after the government gets back to work, either.   

Q. I’m totally amazed at some of the wild accusations and stories these left-wing idiots come up with.  I hear they are blaming the N.R.A. for the lady who led law enforcement on a chase in Washington.  There were no guns or any other weapons found in her car.  (Tammy ~ Bozeman, MT)

A. The lesson is that every time the loons open their mouths, we need to turn off our ears.

A. Yes, it’s true.  And many parks that are totally funded by private donations were also closed.  That’s how your President thinks he should run the government.

DR. BEN CARSON TARGETED BY I.R.S.

Dr. Ben Carson was the target of an I.R.S. audit into his real estate holdings immediately after he spoke out against Barack Hussein Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast.  Once they came up empty, the I.R.S. then decided to conduct a full and complete audit, which also revealed no wrongdoing.  Carson spoke of his trials and tribulations during the BILL O’REILLY SHOW, on FOX NEWS Wednesday night.  Carson went on to say he thought the issue is a “much more serious thing than Watergate or Iran-Contra or Benghazigate. Freedom of speech, freedom of expression, is one of the major principles of our country.”

COMMENTS:

This is more evidence that Washington and the White House are being run by a bunch of two-bit, Anti-American thugs.

A. I don’t know what the first day figures are in total.  I do know that 167 people out of some 340,000 eligible signed up on the first day.  And a Gallup poll suggests that 36% of uninsured Americans have no intentions of signing up.  Wow. 

Q. Where are all of these protestors at closed parks coming from?  (Danielle - Carson, California)

A. Many of them are members of the S.E.I.U. who are being paid by the union to protest at the request of the White House.  It has also been confirmed that the White House specifically ordered the World War II Veterans Memorial be closed.    

Q. What do you think would happen if this impasse continues and we don’t raise our national debt ceiling?  (Charles ~ Newport Beach, CA)

A. Well, that’s not going to happen; that’s more negative, scary hype being put forth by Obama. Who says the debt ceiling has anything to do with the budget?  If we get closer to the October 17^th “drop dead” date on the debt limit, I think the House will surprise the country by moving a bill to increase the limit to $18 trillion, for example, and then insisting that we cut spending in order to keep us within that range.  But, they are not dumb and they are not fools; you can bet your bottom dollar that the debt ceiling will be raised, and probably without much fuss.  However, the budget impasse could continue even past that time.

REID PROVES HIS HATEFUL ARROGANCE

The Republicans tried to push through a mini-spending bill to help a child who has cancer.  The Senate refused to act on it.  When Reid was challenged at a Democratic press conference by CNN's Dana Bash about why the Senate wouldn't consider the NIH bill: "If you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn't you do it?" she asked. Reid’s response: "Why would we want to do that? I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own." 

COMMENTS:

In other words, if the Republicans won’t do what Reid tells them to do, let the kid die.

A. Slim and none.  There was already some movement detected of chemical weapons before the deal was struck.  I’m sure some have been buried in Iran, for example.    

Q. The World War II Memorial sits out in the open air.  Why would the Parks Department even think of denying access to visiting veterans?  (Fisher ~ Coeur d’Alene, ID)

A. Well, Democrats and bureaucrats are not the brightest bulbs on the street.  If the boss says close all of the parks, no one asks why this particular park should be included.  They are also mean-spirited; if they can inconvenience the taxpayer, they don’t hesitate to do so.

A. FIREWIRE from THE BLAZE reports Democrats leaked an email from John Boehner that shows he has been secretly negotiating with them on a deal to secure the exemptions for Congress and their staff members.

Yesterday morning came and millions of Americans took to the streets in every corner of the country, dancing and frolicking in the fountains and singing songs of glee.  The United States Government had finally shut down.

Meanwhile, on The Hill, the yelling and name-calling continued unabated.  One thing is for certain in all of this kindergarten theater: They need to take the television cameras and the Tweets out of the Capitol Building.

Q. I heard there are ObamaCare scams going on?  Can you elaborate?  (Ted ~ Anchorage, AK)

A. Go only to official Affordable Health Care websites; there are some dummy sites being setup to extract your personal identification information so they can clean out your bank accounts.   Watch out for robo-calls offering low rates and great coverages as well as a sizable “up-front” payment.  Check any prospective company out thoroughly.  Don’t provide your date-of-birth, social security number or bank account information just so they can send you a brochure.  You might be told you have to reapply, even if you already are on Medicare.  If you get emails, check to see that they email addresses they provide you are legitimate; float your cursor above their email address in their email to see if it is different.  If it sounds too good to be true, it is.  And, I would wait a few weeks for all of the ObamaCare “glitches” to get cleared up.    

Q. I’m kind of looking at ObamaCare as nothing more than a Chicago-style legalized extortion racket.  “Either you sign up for our protection plan or we’re going to fine you, clean out your bank accounts and send you to jail.”  Am I seeing this wrong?  (Candace ~ Tooele, UT)

A. Absolutely not.  The only thing missing is the gun being held to your head.  But, don’t blame Obama alone; Chief Justice John Roberts has a share of the blame.

GO AHEAD; SHUT IT DOWN

With a more than an hour to go at post time, the Senate and House are both dug in on the budget and ObamaCare.  At this point, the odds of a government shutdown are high. 

COMMENTS:

There could be a short-term Continuing Resolution, say a few days, to keep the government open.  But, I would just as soon they shut down and resolve the damned thing for the rest of the fiscal year so we don’t have to have these pissy games any more. Enough is enough, and I've had my fill.

Q. Do you think the Israelis will do a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities?  Have things changed at all?  (Rex ~ Hanford, CA)

A. I think they have no choice.  Evidence is that Iran is extremely close to having a nuke and they are in the process of moving more of their nuclear facilities into hardened underground caves.  Obama has made it clear that he does not want to do a preemptive strike and seems compelled to enter into talks with Iran which can only lead to more time wasted.  Netanyahu would be a fool to believe any assurances Obama might offer. 

Q. Just what is the story about members of Congress and their staffers getting exempted from ObamaCare?  I hear varying stories.  (Gustine ~ Pendleton, OR)

A. They are being forced off of their cushy government provided insurance and onto state exchanges.  However, they will be entitled to be covered for abortions and they will receive substantial subsidies at taxpayer expense.    

Q. October 1^st is the date for people to start signing up for ObamaCare.  We have until January 1^st.  I figure I’m not going to sign up until December 31^st, just in protest.  Besides, I simply don’t have the money and am afraid of getting my hours cut.  Is that a good idea?  (Myrna ~ Fairfax, CA)

A. Yes, absolutely.   They’re not going to give you interest for signing up and paying early.
