TERRORISTS TAKE AMERICAN HOSTAGES

Although President Obama has insisted that terrorism is dead and buried, Islamist militants seized a natural gas field partly owned by BP in bordering Algeria Wednesday, killing two and reportedly taking 41 hostages, including seven Americans.  The “Masked Brigade or “Those Who Signed in Blood” claimed responsibility for the attack.  The attack began with the ambush of a bus carrying employees from a gas plant to a nearby airport.

COMMENTS:
Algeria has been leery of escalated military action against Mali insurgents fearing this very type of vengeance would ensue.  The northern part of Mali is infested with Al Qaeda members and training camps, much like Afghanistan was prior to 9/11.  Obama was too busy entertaining the media with children at the White House to have a response.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Is Obama out to destroy the Republican Party?  (Ollie ~ Barstow, CA)
A. I was asked this not too long ago.  I think he wants to make them irrelevant for the rest of his term so that he can freely ride roughshod over the country.  But, no one can destroy the Republican Party unless it wants to be destroyed, is negligent or is incompetent to prevent it.  I think there is a strong amount of each in that party.  As long as the current hierarchy retains control of the party, there is no hope.

Q. I have several websites and the hosting company recently changed everything.  The email is okay, but they also changed it so that the internal site builder they had exists no more.  This means that I have to totally rebuild every one of my websites if I want to change anything on them.  They did not tell us they were going to do that; all of the sudden, wham!  Then, their new internal website developer is totally inadequate to use and they’re raising prices.  I haven’t been this angry since Netflix screwed me.  Isn’t there something we can do?  (Mollie ~ Phoenix, AZ)
A. You must be speaking of mydomain.com.  I have had a similar experience.  While they seem to be interested in hearing about your frustrations, the don't appear to be ready to do anything positive about them.  Move all of your sites to another webhost, ASAP.

Q. Did I hear on the news that a hospital is shutting down its birthing center because of ObamaCare?  (Cleo ~ Redding, CA)
A. Yes.  The hospital is in Pennsylvania and is losing the vast majority of its obstetrics staff and health reimbursements due to ObamaCare.  Expectant mothers and storks will have to go ten miles away to the nearest other hospital currently taking in deliveries.  But, this is only the tip of the iceberg: hundreds of small hospitals and clinics around the country are facing obliteration, particularly in rural areas, due to lower health care reimbursements and increased requirements.

TODAY’S QUOTE:
“When Obama put children on display at the White House in a carefully choreographed dramatic moment this morning to support his anti-gun dictates, he failed to tell those children that they were destined to spend the rest of their lives in poverty because of the taxes they will have to pay to cover his legacy of national debt.” ~ The Unknown Scribbler

MOODY’S TELLS U.S.: “TAX THE POOR AND THE MIDDLE CLASS MORE”

An international credit rating firm, Moody’s, is saying that the “fiscal cliff” deal reached by Congress and the President does little to improve things regarding the current debt growth.  It goes on to say, “Although the fiscal package raises some revenue through higher tax rates on individuals earning more than $400,000 ($450,000 for joint filers) and through some other smaller measures, the estimated amount of increased revenue over the next decade is far outweighed by the amount of revenue foregone through the extension of lower tax rates for those with incomes below $400,000, the indexation of the alternative minimum tax, and other measures."

COMMENTS:
The day is just around the corner when you and I are going to have to fork over more of our hard-earned money in order to support Obama’s blatant disregard for fiscal responsibility and his lavish spending habits.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Is there any progress on Texas’ petition to withdraw from the Union?  (Irene ~ Cathedral City, CA)
A. The “petition” is not an official government document, but a petition submitted via the White House website with 125,000 signatures.  The White House responded that the Constitution does not provide for the secession of a State from the Union, and cited the Civil War issue as a precedent.  That’s too bad; the way the Cowboys have been playing football, I was kind of hoping Texas would get to go.

Q. How does Congress get away it with adding pork to a disaster relief bill like the one for Super Storm Sandy?  (Pat ~ Elko, NV)
A. Nobody wants to stop them.  Don’t you get the message?  Congress and the President can do what they want and there’s nothing you can do about it.  We had the chance on November 6th and blew it.  Like I said at the time, “Bye, bye country.”

Q. What do you think about the 19 different Executive Orders the President is going to enact [today]?  (Sandy ~ Des Moines, IA)
A. Well, first of all we don’t know that there will be 19.  Biden is providing “The Omnipotent One” with 19 options, but that doesn’t mean he will act on all of them and he may have a few ideas of his own.  One thing being discussed is ordering the CDC to conduct an investigation into mental health issues, and I agree with that idea.  Another is forcing mental health officials to turn over more confidential psychiatric assessments to a database to be used in determining eligibility for gun control.  While that certainly sounds good, it has the potential of violating some very fundamental rights of privacy.  If any of these new dictates seriously violates the 2nd Amendment rights of gun owners, you can expect there will be Holy Hell to pay.

OBAMA TO HOUSE: RAISE THE NATIONAL DEBT “OR ELSE”

The Omnipotent One told Congress, mainly the House, that he was not going to put up with any of their nonsense.  Using not-so-veiled threats, he said he would shut off social security and military checks unless the debt ceiling is raised and that the House Republicans would be to blame.

COMMENTS:
Is this a full-fledged dictatorship, or what?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. If it is discovered that Iran is as close to having nuclear weapons capabilities as some circles would have us believe, what do you think Obama will do about it?  (Teddy ~ Tuolumne, CA)
A. Nothing.  I mean, he’s cutting the military to the bare bone; where is he going to find the troops or aircraft to do anything about it?  Don’t get me wrong; I happen to believe we’re spending too much money on defense as well, but slashing it in half is irresponsible and stupid.

Q. What do you think Obama will do after the end of his second term?  (Rocky ~ Cheyenne, WY)
A. Ah ha!  You are assuming he will end his Presidency at the end of his second term!  I pose this question to you: if he is so disliked, how did he win the second term?  If a majority of Americans want him to stay on at the end of the second term, just who is going to stop him?  Sorry to ruin your lunch with that thought.

Q. I read that we might have massive electrical outages and the loss of satellites, GPS, and cell phones this year due to solar flares.  How do they know this?  (Grace ~ Boulder City, NV)
A. They have “weather” experts check out the sun all of the time.  The sun has an activity cycle, much like the hurricane season here on Earth.  As it reaches a peak in activity, more solar flares and plasma will be hurled our way.  They wreak havoc with anything that can be damaged by a disruption in our magnetic field.  High radiation could harm astronauts floating outside the international space station; passengers and crew in some high-flying aircraft may be exposed to radiation risk as well.

COLIN POWELL DEFENDS HILLARY CLINTON

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has jumped in to defend the current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the Benghazi Massacre.  “You're surprised," he said.  "Somebody gets killed, something gets blown up. And then the after-action reports start and everybody wants to know who was at fault. Who was responsible? 'Why didn't you keep this from happening?' Well, you can't keep everything from happening. Benghazi was a very, very difficult one and a difficult situation, and maybe they shouldn't have been there in the first place."

COMMENTS:
The key thing he said… forget standing up for Clinton and forget that he is a closet liberal in conservative clothing… “Maybe they shouldn’t have been there in the first place.”  The key thing he didn’t discuss was the subsequent cover-up and current stonewalling.  If they shouldn’t have been there in the first place, but they were, just whose responsibility is that?  Could it be that Barry overruled Hillary on the issue of keeping the Consulate open, and then the attack happened and he got caught with his pants down?  Is that what the cover-up is all about?  While that’s plausible, I think the reasons are deeper than that… somewhat akin to the China Syndrome.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now the FDA is cutting the effectiveness of sleeping pills?  What gives?  (Rosalyn ~ Tempe, AZ)
A. They say the current doses leave users too groggy in the morning and that causes an increase in accidents.  My prediction is that users accustomed to the current dose will simply double the dosage.  There’s more than one way to skin the government.

Q. Once again, you’re right.  You said a week or so ago that the publishing of names and addresses of gun owners in New York was an open invitation for crooks to go burglarize houses on the list if they wanted guns.  I hear that just this weekend one of those homes was in fact burglarized and the guns stolen.  Now, who will be to blame when the guns are used in a crime?  (Salvador ~ Gallup, NM)
A. Thankfully, you don’t have your facts straight.  The guns were in a gun safe, which the burglars worked on for quite some time before giving up.  Frankly, I think the gun owner should sue the newspaper for damages.  And, had the guns been stolen and used to kill somebody, I think the newspaper would also be legally at risk.  Just because you have the Constitutional right to put something in print doesn’t make it acceptable.

Q. The French are against gay marriage?  There was a huge protest at the Eiffel Tower.  (Porfirio ~ Penngrove, CA)
A. There were hundreds of thousands of French people protesting.  The Socialists are bound and determined to approve gay marriage in the country against popular wishes.  Now, if that isn’t a mirror image of what is going in here, what is?

INCREASING THREAT TO USE EXECUTIVE POWER ON GUN CONTROL

Vice President Biden is recommending to President Obama that he use Executive Powers to circumvent Congress and install gun control, according to informed sources.  Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have already urged that he do so.  It currently appears that both the Senate and the House will be very conservative on issuing any gun control before an adequate study is made regarding the actual causes of the recent mass shootings.  “Analysts and political scholars tell FoxNews.com that if the president goes through with his threat to circumvent Congress and issue executive orders, he is likely to face an expensive uphill legal battle – on the taxpayers’ dime.”

COMMENTS:
Go ahead there Omnipotent One; do it and shove it in our faces.  Make my day.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand there is a group, including JFK’s nephew, which believes Oswald had nothing to do with the assassination.  What do you think?  (Benny ~ Las Cruces, NM)
A. If Oswald was innocent, why did he run and hide in a movie theater, even before they knew who did it?  Was he the only shooter?  I believe so.  Did he act totally alone?  I do not believe so.  Was Jack Ruby involved?  I think there’s a good possibility of that, or the Dallas cops were complicit to the extent they were ticked off at Oswald and deliberately didn’t provide him with enough protection.  If there was a conspiracy, who was involved?  The Russians, Castro, the Mob… any or all of them; LBJ was not involved.

Q. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are urging Obama to use an Executive Order to raise the national debt ceiling.  If that happens, what do you think the results will be?  (Carlos ~ Santa Monica, CA)
A. The Republicans will belly ache, but they won’t do anything about it.  The citizens will be madder than hell and Obama will get on his jet plane and fly to some faraway place on another tour, maybe Las Vegas again.

Q. You worked in Vegas.  What do you think of the $1 million fine levied against the Palms Casino regarding drugs, prostitution and money laundering?  (Delilah ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. Such a large fine is usually indicative of flagrant violations.  I don’t think the owner, George Maloof of the Sacramento Kings, had knowledge of it; I think it was a matter of management running amok.  Now then, the real question is: Is that where Obama stays when HE goes to Vegas?

WYOMING TO OBAMA ON GUNS: “F--- OFF”

Wyoming legislators have proposed a new law which states that “any federal law which attempts to ban a semi-automatic firearm or to limit the size of a magazine of a firearm or other limitation on firearms in this state shall be unenforceable in Wyoming.”  In addition, the bill would charge federal officials attempting to enforce a federal gun law within the state with a felony – “subject to imprisonment for not more less than one (1) year and one (1) day or more than five (5) years, a fine of not more than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), or both.”  And, it also authorizes the Wyoming Attorney General to defend a state citizen from any prosecution by the United States Government.

COMMENTS:
Obama should get a bang out of that.  In the first place, it will tick him off because he doesn’t like straight shooters.  If Obama, Biden, Reid and Pelosi expect American gun owners to roll over and play dead on this issue, they have another thing coming.  They are obviously not interested in resolving the issue of gun violence or they’d be talking with sociologists, mental health professionals, and law enforcement agencies instead of conducting these charades they’ve been having for the past week.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand the Russians are building up their military.  Isn’t their Navy in pretty dilapidated shape?  (Cornelius ~ Carmel, CA)
A. They are just deploying their first new sub in about 20 years.  It carries nuclear missiles and is extremely quiet.  They have more subs and surface vessels in production; the U.S., on the other hand, is going to be decommissioning a lot of ships and decreasing the size of its fleet.  Who knows, one of these days we may all be speaking Russian.

Q. Scientists have again discovered something new in the Universe… a system of quasars 4-billion light years from end to end.  Do you think we will ever be able to travel faster than the speed of light?  (Juanita ~ Danville, CA)
A. Scientists believe they have been able to push sub-atomic particles faster than the speed of light.  NASA is already working in the creation of a faster than light “warp drive.”  I believe there is a universal energy that has not yet been discovered that would allow for such travel.  My reasoning is based upon mental telepathy and upon what those who have had “near death experiences” have to say.  If the soul can leave the body faster than light, then so can other things travel at the same speeds.  Can’t you just imagine a cop giving you a ticket for that?

Q. I heard that there is some talk in the media about having Obama’s mug carved into stone at Mount Rushmore.  Could this be true?  (Jeremy ~ Sebastopol ~ CA)
A. Since Obama is the “Omnipotent One,” I think it’s a great idea.  I think the other four guys up there might disagree with me, however.  That would certainly be an “in your face” gesture, much like Obama’s leadership style. Who knows, he might commission the work himself.
