Florida’s Senator and former presidential candidate Marco
Rubio made his political philosophies clear when he went after Trump’s nominee
for Secretary of State Wednesday during confirmation hearings. Tillerson responded to a question by saying
he would not classify Vladimir Putin as being a “war criminal.” “I would want to have much more information
before reaching a conclusion,” Tillerson said.
Rubio expressed dismay at Tillerson’s response and cited a litany of
things Putin has done which should qualify him to be called a war
criminal.
COMMENTS:
If Marco still thinks he is God’s gift to America, I wonder
why he didn’t win the Republican nomination.
Nor will he if he runs again in either 2020 or 2024.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Did you notice that daughter Sasha was noticeably missing
from Obama’s farewell lecture the other night?
(Fergie ~ Elsinore, CA)
A. Actually, I didn’t watch it; I had far better things to
do, such as watching tortoise races on Animal Planet. Word has it that she was home
studying for a science exam and dissecting frogs.
Q. What’s your opinion on the Senate confirmation hearings
so far? (Shannon ~ Casper, WY)
A. So much drama, so little substance.
Q. VW has pleaded guilty in its emissions scandal. So, why are they allowed to continue doing
business in this country? (Spike ~ Socorro,
NM)
A. Does it bug you? Are you suffering from too many beetles? They’re
going to pay $4.3 billion in fines and penalties. That money can be used to purchase four
hammers and nine toilet seats for the Pentagon.
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“The relentless invisible storm of
radio signals and electronic particles, the hustle and bustle and the billions
of petrol explosions in the engine blocks of trucks and cars seem to churn up
the molecules of life and heaven so violently that the beautiful fogs are
unable to hold together like they once did.” ~ Michael Leunig
