MISSING WOMAN FOUND ALIVE

Laura Lynne Stacey, a 28-year-old woman who had been missing in Southern California since Sunday, was found yesterday walking alongside a freeway.  She had evidently left her car in stormy weather, leaving behind a blanket and food after dropping her cellphone into a puddle of water.

COMMENTS:
At this point, you know as much as I do.  I think we can both agree that this attractive young girl had no legitimate reason for leaving her car; she was much, much safer in it, even if it was disabled.  She was out in the wide open, without a weapon; surely she was bait for kidnappers in the sex trade, for random rapists… any number of horrible things could have happened to her.  No one, especially an attractive young woman, has any business being out and about and alone in this day and age, regardless of what they are doing at the time.  At least in the car, she had a barrier between her and danger, and it would just be a matter of time before a law enforcement officer would come to investigate as to why the car was there on the side of the road.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I was surprised to find out Obama didn’t pardon Bowe Bergdahl before he left office.  Why do you think he didn’t?  (Yancey ~ Raleigh, NC)
A. He was too busy sending $221 million to the Palestinians.  Priorities are priorities, you know.

Q. What is your opinion on national voter identification?  (Tim ~ Arlington, WA)
A. I think it’s a great idea, but I don’t know that it would work for individual state elections; states have States’ rights under the Constitution and would want to have their own identification.  One thing I do believe is that I.D. should be required to vote in any election.

Q. I’m sure Trump knows who he’s going to pick for the Supreme Court slot.  Why all of the delay drama; why doesn’t he simply announce whoever it is?  (Gerry ~ Citrus Heights, CA)
A. There are logistics to be completed and he wants to be certain the person will be passed by the Senate and seen as favorable by the American Bar Association.

COMEY STAYS ON?

President Trump has decided that FBI Director James Comey will keep his job… at least for now.

COMMENTS:
Now, that’s the surprise of the year; like the rest of us, Democrat and Republican alike, Comey demonstrated that he was nothing more than a political hack and/or that he didn’t have a full appreciation for the tasks at hand in the Clinton Email investigations.  Even Trump spoke harshly about him.  So, this is my first major disagreement with Trump since he took the oath; I don’t think Comey would pass the tests for being a basic recruit in most law enforcement agencies, and I don’t think his own agents think much better of him than that.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why do you think Obama did not pardon Clinton before he left office?  (Turk ~ San Francisco, CA)
A. Pardon her for what?  She hasn’t been charged with anything.

Q. Any opinion on Rubio’s threatening to vote against Tillerson, and then saying he would vote for him at the last moment?  (Pansy ~ Logandale, NV)
A. The idiot made such a fool out of himself during the primaries that his only hope for a political future is to grandstand; yet, in doing so, he’s made an even bigger fool out of himself.  He would have been so much better off to have shown a little humility, maybe keep his mouth shut and lie low for 20 or 30 decades.

Q. Even though Congress had previously blocked it, Obama released $221 million to the Palestinians on the day he left office.  Isn’t that treasonous, and why did he do it?  (Gordy ~ Palmdale, CA)
A. He did it because he is a Muslim in his heart and he wanted to crap on Netanyahu and Israel one last time.  Yes, his failure to uphold the laws could and should be considered treasonous, but he did illegal things on a daily basis and was never called to task for it.  We have a long way to go before we start acting like a civilized society again…

HORSE MANURE

There’s a battle brewing in Auburn, Kentucky over the subject of horse manure.  There are quite a few Amish people living there and they all ride in horse-driven carriages, thereby spreading manure all over town.  The town passed a law which requires a “properly fitted collection device” to be placed on all horses walking on the street.  The Amish residents have just filed a lawsuit claiming the law violates their religious rights.

COMMENTS:
We now know where Washington politicians go to obtain their basic education.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Can Trump prod Congress into action?  (Leung ~ Monterey, CA)
A. Let me put it this way: if they don’t act proactively, they’re going to be on the outside looking in come November of 2018, (both Democrat and Republican), because we are not going to put up with it any longer and, as Trump puts it, they work for us.

Q. Any comments or thoughts about President Trump’s immediate visit with the C.I.A. over the weekend?  (Holly ~ Fairbanks, AK)
A. I’m surprised he found any intelligence in Washington.  Political agendas have so corrupted the top tiers of government agencies in Washington that the grunts that do the real hard day-to-day work need inspiration and solace.  I think thIS was the main purpose of his visit, to reassure them that things are finally going to be not only different, but better.

Q. What about all of the women protesters over the weekend?  (Celeste ~ Paradise, NV)
A. We never should have given them the right to vote.

ELIJAH CUMMINGS WILL ATTEND INAUGURATION

Elijah Cummings, breaking with House Democrats, has stated he will attend the Inauguration of Donald Trump, stating the Inauguration is an issue that is bigger than Donald Trump.

COMMENTS:
I rarely, if ever, have agreed with Cummings on anything of importance.  But, I will have to acknowledge that he is one Democrat in Congress who still has some class.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think there will be riots and ugly protests during the Inauguration, parade and balls?  (Flora ~ Redding, CA)
A. I definitely think there will be strong protests all weekend.  I think there will an attempt at full-blown riots and if so, I hope every last one of them is arrested and charged to the fullest extent of the law.  I also pray for the Secret Service to keep President Trump safe.

Q. What was Obama’s single greatest achievement in office?  (Lena ~ Vancouver, WA)
A. Convincing Americans that his obviously faked birth certificate wasn’t.

Q. Will Trump ever grow up and quit Tweeting?  (Jackson ~ Lodi, CA)
A. He recently said that he doesn’t particularly like Tweeting, but he has to get his message out against a dishonest media.  That’s what the real rub is with the Democrats; they want to silence him through their radically-controlled left-wing media and he won’t be buffaloed.

WANNA MAKE A QUICK $2,500?

Just sign up with a San Francisco firm that’s offering $2,500 for protesters to go to the inauguration.

COMMENTS:
Well, you do have to agree to participate on some more protests as the year goes on, but the retainer is $2,500 and you make $50 an hour.  The ad does not specify whether or not you need to bring your own torches, rocks, billy clubs or guns.  Check it out: http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/inauguration-protest-millennials/2017/01/17/id/768996/?ns_mail_uid=99888042&ns_mail_job=1705902_01172017&s=al&dkt_nbr=pgmlfm7n

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How do you feel about the 50 or so Democrats who are refusing to go to the inauguration?  (Flip ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. Who cares?  I mean… if they want to make asses out of themselves, that’s their business.

Q. Do I understand correctly that the State of California published the names and private information of every firearms instructor in the State?  (Bev ~ San Mateo, CA)
A. Well, that’s the meat of it, with some explanation.  3,424 firearms instructors did have their personal information released as a result of a Public Records Act Request filed by an NPR reporter.  The law provides that any such information released must have private information deleted, but the information provided by the State did not.  For some mysterious reason, the State did not notify anybody about the fact until two months after it became aware of the problem.

Q. Why did Ted Cruz flatly turn down any Supreme Court nomination by Trump?  (Reggie ~ Hurricane, UT)
A. Probably because he'd have to become honest.
