ILLINOIS APPROVES CONCEALED CARRY

Flying directly into the face of anti-gun fanatics, Illinois has become the last state in the union to legalize the concealed carry of firearms.  The law as approved by the Legislature permits anyone with a Firearm Owner's Identification card who has passed a background check and undergone gun-safety training of 16 hours, (longest of any state),  to obtain a concealed-carry permit for $150.

COMMENTS:
I can imagine that Rahm “Rambo” Emmanuel has had a hissy-fit that would rival any of Obama’s.  The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in December that it's unconstitutional for Illinois to ban concealed carry and ordered the legislature to change the law.  Chalk this up as one small win for the Second Amendment and one giant leap for Illinois.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard a rumble today that Eliot Spitzer and Anthony Wiener both want to run on the Democratic ticket for mayor of New York City.  Can that be true?  (Lydora ~ Atwater, CA)
A. What’s wrong with that?  They’ve had Bloomhead in office now for eight years, why not have a little juicy sex gossip to continue keeping things active?  I hate to tell you this, but in the country where I was brought up both of those guys would just be getting out of jail right now.  I was brought up in a once great country called the United States of America, now headed straight for the garbage piles currently occupied by Rome, etc.  Would you like to try and save it before it really happens?

Q. What do you think about the push by Boehner and Ryan to get the Administration to cough up a more accurate forecast of ObamaCare costs?  (Jimmy ~ Denver, CO)
A. Good for them.  As I said the other day in MY AMERICAN OPINON, I really think we need an audit of the whole process.  I want to know how much money is literally being pissed away in this “start-up” agency.  I fear it’s another piece of bad news.

Q. You cite Fox News frequently and use a lot of their videos.  Why them as opposed to CNN, HLN or one the majors?  (Orlando ~ Redding, CA)
A. I find them to be the most balanced of the networks.  The majors all seem to have their agendas, especially NBC which is really in the left-wing Democratic Party tank.  I haven’t trusted CBS News in years.  I do occasionally watch ABC News.  CNN and HLN are obviously biased toward the liberal view, far more than Fox leans toward the conservative view; even then, Fox will offer opposing views.  I will say that I am watching THE BLAZE, particularly Glenn Beck and Reel News frequently.  They have a lot of good scoops.

VEGAS OUTRAGE

A Las Vegas area family is suing Henderson City Police for knocking on their door in the middle of the night and ordering the family to evacuate so that they could use the residence for surveillance purposes.  When the family resisted, members were arrested and they are now suing on the basis of the Third Amendment which, in essence, says the government can’t take adverse possession of your property and put soldiers in it without your permission.  The owner alleges the police, upon entering his home, forced him to the floor at gunpoint, then shot him and his “cowering” dog with a few rounds of pepper-spray pellets; then handcuffed and arrested him in connection with “obstructing a police officer” before occupying his home.  They then proceeded to indulge in his food, air conditioning and other amenities while he was locked up downtown.  Charges against the family members have been dropped.

COMMENTS:
Is this the beginning of the end of America?  Are we becoming a police state?  We've certainly created the atmosphere for it...

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is your thought on cutting aid to Egypt, as John McCain is insisting?  (Paula ~ Hanford, WA)
A. Once again, McCain shoots from the hip and misses the mark.  The military in Egypt is the sole center of democratic stability.  They have worked with the United States for years.  Morsi was installed after the military chased Mubarak out for his anti-democracy moves, and then Morsi proceeded to start dismantling democratic institutions.  Obama seems to be in love with the Muslim Brotherhood; they’ve dropped by at the White House to chat on numerous occasions.  The military doesn’t insist on who takes over, and it provides for democratic elections.  Why drop aid to your friends and turn them against you?  Now, as for sending aid to the government, as opposed to the military, I think we should wait and see.

Q. Will the turmoil in Egypt start another Arab Spring?  (Jerry ~ Folsom, CA)
A. Perhaps, since a lot of unrest and dissatisfaction with new regimes continue in those countries.  Odds are that Obama will screw things up just as badly on the second go around.

Q. I just heard about a Watergate-style break-in at a law office in Dallas.  What happened?  (Cheryl ~ Petaluma, CA)
A. The firm, Schulman and Mathias, represents Aurelia Fedenisn, a high-level State Department employee who became a whistleblower regarding several “influenced, manipulated, or simply called off” misconduct investigations, including those involving sexual assaults and prostitution scandals.  The law firm was burglarized and the intruders broke into a filing cabinet and stole several computers containing “sensitive information” regarding the case.  Bars of silver were left untouched.

FAST & FURIOUS KILLS AGAIN

A high-powered rifle “walked across the border” by the Fast & Furious gun scandal has turned up as the weapon used in the killing of a top Mexican cop.  Luis Lucio Rosales Astorga, the police chief in the city of Hostotipaquillo, was shot to death Jan. 29 when gunmen intercepted his patrol car and opened fire, also killing one of his bodyguards. His wife and a second bodyguard were wounded.  A previous gun in the Fast & Furious scandal was used to kill U.S. Agent Brian Terry.

COMMENTS:
Who cares?  The cop was just a Mexican and the “Fast & Furious” operation never existed.  There was never an organized attempt to make border gun shops look like they were not obeying the law so that Obama and his goons could start shutting them down.  Trust me.  When Barack says he wants to get to the bottom of this just as much we do, he’s telling it like it is.  Yeah, man!  Yo, brother!  Praise the Lord!

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How can they say the job situation is getting better and that jobs are growing?  I don’t see any evidence of it.  (Eve ~ Palm Desert, CA)
A. You’re not going to like the answer.  The Center for Immigration studies reports that all job growth since 2000 has been taken by immigrants, both legal and illegal.  Now, we stand poised to add another 11 million to 12 million to the mix... people who have no legal or ethical right to be here in the first place.

Q. What do you make of the story that John Kerry was relaxing and sunning himself on his yacht while Egypt’s Morsi was being removed from office?  (Andre ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. No big deal.  After all, Obama was off to Vegas while Benghazi was still smoldering in Libya.  And, he was off to Africa while there was that disaster, the IRS scandal, EPA, DOJ, NSA, EPA and everything else still on the fire in Washington.

Q. I understand there were over 100 demonstrations against the NSA over the holiday.  Will that do any good?  (Cherie ~ Long Beach, CA)
A. I doubt it.  This Administration has made it abundantly clear that it is the imperial ruling authority of the country, whether you and I like it or not.  And, this kind of government thrives on the collection of gossip and other “dirty information” about its subjects.

OBAMACARE IN DEEP TROUBLE

The Obama Dynasty has proclaimed a one-year delay in the implementation of the requirement that businesses with 50 or more employees most provide them heath care; it’s been pushed back to January 1, 2015.  This development will have a significant adverse impact on the rollout of ObamaCare, the private health insurance market, and the nation’s economy.

COMMENTS:
This development underscores the fact that ObamaCare bill was not well considered or constructed from the get go.  Every aspect of the complicated legislation has come under legitimate attack.  Obama is obviously aware of the negative political impact on the 2014 elections if the legislation proceeds to be implemented according to schedule.  HIS chickens are coming home to roost, and he wants to get out of the chicken coop.  I would not be surprised to see the whole damned thing get pushed back to 2016, in the hopes that a non-Democratic win in the White House might be saddled with the ugly mess.  Does this mean that the hiring of all of those extra IRS agents is likewise going to be delayed?  Of course not.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. O’Reilly lost it again the other night and tore Juan Williams a new rear end.  Why does Fox tolerate this tyrannical behavior?  (Trinity ~ Pasadena, CA)
A. They keep him because his ratings are high and he attracts high advertising revenues.  I quit watching him some time ago for the same reason as your complaint.  Why people continue to watch something they cannot tolerate, I will never know.  I certainly would not want the boor at my dinner table.

Q. Now that we’re down the road somewhat, what is your opinion of Edward Snowden at this point?  (Lincoln ~ Fresno, CA)
A. He awakened America to the fact that we are all being spied upon, that the Obama government lies to us on a regular basis, and that we are indeed on the brink of tyranny.  I am not arguing the merits of his “leaks;” I am arguing the results.  Our country, you and I included, are in more danger than you can possibly imagine.  We need real answers and we need them now.

Q. I read that the Chinese have a new super-computer that’s the best and fastest in the world?  Are we falling behind technologically?  (Scott ~ Kellogg, ID)
A. Yes, we are falling behind.  Our educational system is in a bad state of disrepair, falling apart at the seams after years of improper management and oversight by the Department of Education.  We need to get the responsibility for classrooms back to the local school districts and we need to forget all of these phony-baloney schemes with fancy names.  Let’s get back to basics and start teaching math and science instead of sex education in our elementary schools.  Our standards of life are corroded in virtually every facet.  As for the Chinese and their computer, I would certainly hesitate to play Chinese Checkers with them.

JUSTICE KENNEDY: GAYS CAN MARRY IN CALIFORNIA

Openly defying the will of the people in California, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy ruled yesterday that a motion filed by anti-gay factions to halt such marriages because a ruling the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals was premature, was without merit.

COMMENTS:
So, Californians, what the majority of the people in the state want does not matter.  The next logical step in this progression is to rule that a priest who refuses to marry a gay couple due to the doctrines of his church can be imprisoned.  This from the same Court that ruled ObamaCare to be a tax, not affecting interstate commerce and therefore legally the law of the land, although 70% of the country opposed it at the time.  We no longer live in a democracy; we live in an oligarchy.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. With the demonstrations going on again in Egypt, what are the potential ramifications?  (Terry ~ Long Beach, CA)
A. Morsi has proven himself to be a potential enemy of the U.S.  His relationship with us leaves much to be desired.  Yet, someone of some far worse faction could easily step in and take over.  We’ve not made as many mistakes in the Middle East as we have since we got involved with, supported, and then backed away from the Shah of Iran.  As shaky as things are in that neck of the woods, we need all of the friends we can get.

Q. Why does Obama want to shut down the coal industry? (Ginger ~ Pocatello, ID)
A. Because we don’t want him to.  I really think that’s the answer.  We have an abundance of coal in this country; it will be another irony if we end up shipping it all overseas so they can use it there because we can’t use it here.  And, what would that accomplish, if the reduction of coal use would affect the world climate at all; we’re just moving the burning of coal to other nations and we’re paying higher energy prices.  Finally, there has already been tremendous progress in cleaning the use of the fuel up.

Q. Why is Vladimir Putin making Obama look bad?  (Chelsea ~ Woodburn, OR)
A. Because he can.  However, Obama is making both himself and us look bad.  He doesn’t need any help from Putin.

FHA COULD LOSE $115 BILLION!

Unnoticed in the media is the news that the Federal Housing Authority stands to blow $115 billion of our money because it is being swamped by defaults.  The dismal forecast has some bracing for another taxpayer-financed bailout.

COMMENTS:
WHY IS IT THAT OUR GOVERNMENT KEEPS HIDING THE TRUTH FROM US?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think Californians will once again try to stop gay marriages within their state?  (Jordan ~ Heber City, UT)
A. Hopefully, the third time will be the charm.  Twice before, a ban has passed overwhelmingly, only to be overturned in the country’s liberal courts.  It is an outrage when the majority cannot rule in a democratic society!

Q. I think we’re all aware of the fact that the U.S. attacked the Iranian nuclear program by slowing down the refinement of uranium through a cyberspace attack called Stuxnet.  Now, there’s an investigation into why we know that fact, that a leak occurred and that now retired General James Cartwright is being blamed for it.  Wasn’t he a top military honcho?  (Hasty ~ Seattle, WA)
A. Second highest I command he was.  Keep in mind that, just because he’s being investigated doesn’t mean he leaked it.  And, what’s the big deal, anyway?  The President of the United States leaked secrets to Hollywood so they could make a move about the killing of Bin Laden that was released just before the November elections.

Q. What’s all this fuss about the USDA and a magic rabbit?  (Cody ~ Castaic, CA)
A. Magician Marty Hahne uses a live rabbit in his act.  He just received a totally official letter from the USDA demanding that by July 29 he must provide a written disaster plan, detailing all the steps he would take to help get his rabbit through a disaster, such as a tornado, fire, flood, etc. They not only want to know how he will protect my rabbit during a disaster, but also what he will do after the disaster, to make sure his rabbit gets cared for properly.  I presume that, should he fail to comply, he will be subjected to an IRS audit and eves-dropping by the NSA. F*&K THIS GOVERNMENT!
