DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE REFUSES TO PROSECUTE HOLDER

As expected in most circles, the Justice Department has refused to exercise its Constitutional obligation to prosecute its leader, Eric Holder, after he was held in Contempt of Congress.  Deputy Attorney General James Cole confirmed in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner that the department in fact would not pursue prosecution. The attorney general's withholding of documents pertaining to Operation Fast and Furious, he wrote, "does not constitute a crime."  (Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/29/after-holder-contempt-vote-republicans-eye-civil-court-case-to-extract-furious/#ixzz1zEacpsh3)

COMMENTS:
Another in an endless Obama Administration series of “Up yours America and just what are you going to do about it?” messages…  It is a culture of dictatorship that we are dealing with.  Do you want to be ruled by a dictator?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is your opinion of Nancy Pelosi and other House members walking out on Holder’s Contempt of Congress vote? (Elias ~ Menlo Park, CA)
A. I guess they were acting out the “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen” idiom.  It speaks volumes about the level of their commitment to America.  Too bad they didn’t keep right on walking…

Q. There’s a presidential election going on in Mexico (tomorrow) and we haven’t heard a word about it.  Are there any ramifications for us?  (Jocko ~ Amargosa Valley, NV)
A. Twelve years after it fell from power, Mexico’s Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) is on the verge of winning Sunday’s presidential election with a ticket headed by a young, telegenic leader, Enrique Peña Nieto.  The PRI has a long history of close relationships with drug cartels and systemic corruption.  The ramifications for us could be ominous.

Q. What is it with this ObamaCare tax issue?  First, Obama and his goons swore on a stack of Korans that the costs were not a tax.  Then they argued to the Supreme Court that it was a tax and the Court ruled ObamaCare to be constitutional not under the commerce clause but, because it is a tax.  Now, I hear the White House arguing that it is not a tax, but a penalty.  What’s going on?  (Oz ~ Yuma, AZ)
A. It’s a “flim-flam, slam-bam thank you ma’am” smoke and mirrors magic trick. In fact, it’s not a tax; it’s a giant screw you.

CONTEMPT RULING: NOW WHAT?

Attorney General Eric Holder was found guilty of both civil and criminal contempt of Congress yesterday, the first time in American history such an action had been taken.  Congressional sources say that House GOP leaders will now meet to decide the next steps, but the investigation is expected to go forward with more subpoenas being issued. The next step in the process is that the Justice Department is supposed to convene a grand jury to see if Holder should be indicted.

COMMENTS:
Whether or not Holder will comply and launch an investigation into himself remains to be seen but, given his stonewalling of providing Congress documents and testimony, it remains in doubt.  Congress should therefore now proceed to remove him from office and it should file a suit in Federal Court to challenge the claim of Executive Privilege.  Doing the latter would force Holder to produce the documents in question for the Court to review in its determination as to whether or not Executive Privilege applies.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How can we repeal ObamaCare?  (Forest ~ Napa, CA)
A. We can’t, as long as either house of Congress or the White House is controlled by Democrats. If you want to change that fact, you need to start talking to your friends and neighbors today and get them to vote all of these dudes out in November.

Q. Is Solyndra the only solar energy firm that got loan guarantees from the Obama Administration to go bankrupt?  (Riley ~ Franktown, NV)
A. No.  Beacon Power and Abound Solar also filed.  Abound is the latest with $400 million in loan guarantees.   The total is now about $2 billion and the investigation into whether or not Obama traded the loan guarantee for political contributions from Solyndra is just getting started.

Q. Given Obama’s flagrant violation and abuse of the Constitution, I’m surprised someone hasn’t followed your lead and called for his impeachment. Is there even a remote possibility impeachment could happen?  (Cyndee ~ Salem, OR)
A. Senator John Kyl of Arizona floated the idea during an appearance on Bill Bennett’s radio show Tuesday.  If history is any indicator, there is no way Obama can be impeached in this term, simply due to time constraints.

SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SCALIA BLASTS OBAMA ON EVE OF HEALTH CARE DECISION

Justice Antonin Scalia took President Barack Obama to task in a scathing 22-page dissent to Monday’s Supreme Court decision striking down the majority of Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law, as he called Obama’s failure to enforce parts of the Immigration Act “mind boggling.  The president said at a news conference that the new program is ‘the right thing to do’ in light of Congress’s failure to pass the administration’s proposed revision of the Immigration Act,” Scalia wrote in his dissent. “Perhaps it is, though Arizona may not think so. But to say, as the Court does, that Arizona contradicts federal law by enforcing applications of the Immigration Act that the President declines to enforce boggles the mind.”  Read more on Newsmax.com: Justice Scalia: Obama’s Immigration Stance ‘Boggles the Mind’

COMMENTS:
I wonder which way he voted on the Health Care decision.  I don’t think anyone on the Court, Ginsberg included, is particularly enamored with His Royal Highness.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Will Hillary be Obama’s Veep in 2012 election? (A.J. ~ San Francisco, CA)
A. You’re probably referring to the rumor that Biden will move to State and Clinton will become the Vice Prez.  I may have started that rumor myself… check my past posts.  Although both Hillary and Bill despise Barry, they are also realists and understand that such a ticket would be unbeatable and practically guarantee a Democratic win in November.  However, Obama is increasingly seen as being a poor President and Hillary recognizes she may be tainted by an association with him and thereby lose in 2016.  Besides, do we really want a guy as Secretary of State who pops off the gums with dumb, dumb remarks like Joe Biden does?

Q. Obama got tons of money from unidentified Middle Eastern contributors in the last election.  Is he doing the same thing this time around?  (Hiller ~ Chehalis, WA)
A. I can’t say about the Middle East yet, but he is out feeling for money in England, France and…. China.  Does that give you the warm fuzzies?

Q. Since Arizona lost a lot of ground on the illegal immigration issue through the Supreme Court ruling, what do you think will be the results of Florida’s efforts to purge the voter rolls of illegal voters and dead people?  (Kenny ~ Lincoln, NE)
A. A Federal Judge ruled yesterday in favor of Florida.  U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle said that there was nothing in federal voting laws to prevent the state from identifying non-U.S. citizens even if it comes less than 90 days before the state’s August 14 election.

CARTER ATTACKS OBAMA!

Former President Jimmy Carter lashed out at President Barack Obama in a recent article, claiming that Obama is guilty of "widespread abuse of human rights" by authorizing drone strikes to kill suspected terrorists.  Carter claims the "United States is abandoning its role as the global champion of human rights."

COMMENTS:
I agree and disagree.  Obama IS guilty of violating human rights…ours, and ours are supposedly unalienable.  That having been said, it seems to me that one Nobel Peace Prize winner dumping on another Nobel Peace Prize Winner is somewhat akin, in this case, to the pot calling the kettle black.  (Does that opinion make me a racist?)

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why does Obama consistently refuse to obey and enforce the laws of our country?  (Elsie ~ Port Angeles, WA)
A. Because you let him.

Q. A friend today told me that the Democrats recognize that Obama may be foreign-born, but that they don’t care.  The Constitution says the President must be a natural born citizen.  How can the Democrats not care?  (Quint ~ Seaside, CA)
A. The Democratic Party admits Obama may not be qualified. But, they now say, according to an eligibility lawsuit ongoing in Tennessee, that “defendants assert that the Tennessee Democrat Party has the right to nominate whoever it chooses to run as a candidate, including someone who is not qualified for the office.” Somehow, I think Nancy Pelosi is behind this strategy.

Q. This Fast & Furious scandal is far more than just Holder.  I think it leads straight to the White House, particularly with Obama giving the Justice Department “Executive Privilege.” Do you agree?  (Mitt ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. Absolutely.  In fact, the White House said a former National Security staffer who communicated with ATF's Special Agent in charge of "Fast and Furious" cannot be interviewed by Congressional investigators.  Obama is providing cover for ATF Special Agent Bill Newell and questions as to what he knew "about the objectives and tactics used in Fast and Furious and with whom did he share his knowledge." I believe, based on early stories regarding the affair, that Fast and Furious was a plot hatched by Obama, Holder and Rahm Emmanuel to provide a reason for increasing Federal gun control.

THE ULTIMATE CHUTZPAH

President Obama is asking people to quit buying wedding gifts and to make a donation to his campaign instead.  For those getting married, he’s asking them to send out cards to their guests asking them to donate to Obama instead of buying a wedding gift.  You can even register your wedding on his campaign website.

COMMENTS:
And, if your donation is big enough, he’ll let you use his figurine on your wedding cake.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is your opinion of the food stamp program?  (Millie ~ Rock Springs, WY)
A. I think that it is a worthwhile program that is badly abused and full of corruption.  If we could stop the waste and fraud, I think we could cut the costs by 60%.  No one in Washington, however, knows how to cut anything.

Q. I heard that Obama intends to raise the “death tax?”  (Howie ~ Lancaster, CA)
A. He plans to raise the estate tax to 55%.  I guess this is what he envisions:  you win $10 million in the lottery and pay 30% taxes on it, leaving $7 million.  You die leaving your money to your son, and there’s a 55% tax leaving $3.15 million.  Your son then pays 30% tax leaving $2.2 million…. Ad infinitum.   He'll have your entire family fortune within three generations.

Q. Maxine Waters wants to go toe-to-toe with the Tea Party?  (Estelle ~ Salt Lake City, UT)
A. Waters is the target of a House Ethics Committee inquiry into allegations that she attempted to facilitate federal bailout financing and do special favors for a bank when her husband had stock in the company worth about $200,000.  Last month she accused the party of harboring a “mean spirit” in a video posted on Youtube. “I don’t know what party they’ve been to — that must have been some bitter tea,” she said. “They came with a mean spirit, and now they want to cut the food stamps. They don’t want to fund education. They want to give all of the tax breaks to the richest people.” She’s the one who let it slip on the House floor that she has a socialist agenda.

WHAT WILL THIS WEEK BRING?

Last week was astonishing in itself: Holder flipped the House Committee the big one, they responded by voting to move a Contempt of Congress citation to the floor of the House, the nation got into an uproar about Obama’s piracy of the Constitution over the immigration issue; and it came to light that one of Obama’s “friends” he appointed to the NLRB has a strong smell of La Cosa Nostra ties.  Today, certainly by Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court will issue its verdict on the ObamaCare issue and the full House may vote to cite Holder with Contempt. And, who knows?  The media might finally zero on on the Obama biographer who claims Obama told him, a couple of years before the 2008 election, that he was born in Kenya; or how about that famous Michelle slip when she said Obama was "Kenyan?"

COMMENTS:
Things are shaping up to be a long, hot summer for Obama and his Marxist Socialist cronies, as it well should be.  Obama reminds of an old movie title, ‘CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF;” I wonder how many of his nine lives he’s going to use up before Election Day. Could it possibly be that his chickens are coming home to roost?  Play me a little travelin' music there, Otis...

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How do you feel about Jerry Sandusky’s guilty verdict?  (Hank ~ Des Moines, IA)
A. The s.o.b. should feel lucky that he is in custody and that I was not there with my gun.

Q. What do you say to atheists who challenge your belief in God?  (Melanie ~ El Centro, CA)
A.  May God have mercy on your soul?

Q. Why do you think Syria attacked a Turkish jet over Turkish air space?  (Frankie ~ Redding, CA)
A. The attack was actually in international airspace over the Mediterranean.  I think Syrian President Assad wanted to send a stern and belligerent warning to all nations that, should they decide to provide air cover for the rebellion or to declare a “no-fly zone,” there is going to be hell to pay.  Frankly, Frankie, the Syrians do have a pretty strong air force and, should they decide to use it in such a scenario, the battle for air supremacy over Syria is not going to be easily won.
