L.A. TIMES: BENGHAZI ISSUE WON’T GO AWAY

A commentary by James Rainey in the Los Angeles Times says that the Benghazi issue has been supercharged by the Presidential election, and that it is not likely to be resolved very soon.  He goes on to say that even Condoleezza Rice is saying that it will take some time to get to the bottom of this, but that it needs to be investigated.

COMMENTS:
The fact is that Benghazi would no longer be an issue if Obama had come clean and leveled with the American public from moment one.  But, he didn’t; he chose to stonewall, pontificate and obfuscate.  Yes, the issue is affecting Obama in a bad way, however it is no one’s fault but his own; either his people he chose to be around him are incompetent or he did something very bad that needs to be covered up.  Since he knows of the danger to his reelection, taking the stonewall approach indicates to me that he is covering up something much, much bigger than Fast & Furious or Solyndra.  Yes, it will take time to get to the bottom of this, and undoubtedly will require subpoenas, refusals to provide testimony, and a Supreme Court decision before we get the answer, if then.  Obama is in a Halloween stew of his own making.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Romney has indicated that we should get rid of FEMA. Here we are with Sandy’s devastation.  How can he be serious?  (Corrine ~ Chico, CA)
A. We got along pretty darned well for the 200+ years this country was around before FEMA was born.  Disasters like this are best administered at the state level, where you have people with experience on the ground who know where assets are, where addresses are and who are used to working through emergencies together.  All they really need is immediate cash flow to cover costs.  FEMA is just another bloated government agency, born with a good purpose perhaps, but totally inefficient at getting things done on the ground.

Q. Is there any way to tell how those who are voting early are voting?  (Maureen ~ Salinas, CA)
A. Gallup has been taking exit polls and indicates 15% of voters have already voted.  Romney leads Obama 52% to 45% so far.  It must be our mission, at all costs, to get Obama out of office.  With the possible exception of Vietnam, he is the worst thing to happen to our country since the Civil War.

Q. I was reading the other day that Mexico’s economy is growing rapidly while ours is deep trouble.  Why is that?  You’d think they would be in worse shape than we are.  (Claudio ~ Tucson, AZ)
A. Because we’re the ones with Obama as our President.  Obama blames Bush, he blames the world economy, he blames Congress… and our next door neighbor is kicking butt.  What does that tell you?

BP INVESTS HEAVILY IN RUSSIA

With all of the networks and press glued into the Sandy weather, there hasn’t been much news in these last 36 hours.  But, there are some nuggets of information out there, such as the fact that British Petroleum (BP) has joined with Russia in creating the world’s largest oil company, which will be run by Vladimir Putin’s close friend, Igor Sechin.

COMMENTS:
Look for the price of oil to go up, as will the price of gas while Obama still has no coherent energy policy.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Any new discoveries by the Mars probe?  (Tanya ~ Bellingham, WA)
A. Good timing.  A sample of Mars dirt reveals a shiny new substance. They have determined that the specks were not caused by the landing of Curiosity and are moving the rover to a new location to take another sample.  It’s probably an ancient form of lip gloss.

Q. Did I hear someplace that they are firing an Air Force General for trying to save those at the Benghazi Consulate?  (Irv ~ Redding, CA)
A. Possibly.  They always have to fry anyone’s fanny they can, except their own, under these circumstances.  They think that blood-letting will dampen the fires of discontent.  On October 18th, Leon Panetta introduced a new general in charge of the African Command; the current general, Carter Ham, is being ushered out early.  Ham received the same intelligence that everyone else did, along with pleas for help, and communicated that he had assembled a special strike force/rapid response team ready to go in and rescue those at Benghazi, but he was ordered to “stand down,” not to assist.  Ham reportedly decided to help anyway, but was cornered by his second-in-command and told that he was being relieved of duty.  Stay tuned.

Q. What’s the latest on the lawsuit by Congress to force Eric Holder to turn over documents on the Fast & Furious scandal?  (Priscilla ~ Bend, OR)
A. The Justice Department is trying to have the lawsuit quashed on the basis that the courts have no business getting involved in a political dispute.  If courts don’t settle disputes, what do they do?

MORE WHITE HOUSE DIRTY LAUNDRY

Abound Solar is currently under criminal investigation by the Weld County District Attorney’s Office in northern Colorado for securities fraud, consumer fraud and financial misrepresentation, according to the Denver Post.  The company filed bankruptcy after receiving $400 million in loan guarantees from the Federal government.  At least one official of the company reportedly had a pipeline in to the White House and donated heavily to Obama’s campaign funds.  Obama was literally forced to address the matter last week, saying: “These are decisions, by the way, that are made by the Department of Energy, they have nothing to do with politics.”  However, emails obtained by COMPLETECOLORADO.COM suggest that the White House was directly involved in the Energy Department’s decision to award the $400 million loan guarantee.  They also indicate that the loan guarantee was political payback to Democratic benefactor Pat Stryker.

COMMENTS:
Benghazi, Solyndra, Abound… the whole White House is taking on a really putrid smell.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Obama’s cronies were out on TV yesterday insisting that there is a swing from Romney back to Obama going on and that early voters have all been voting for Obama.  What’s going on?  (Melchor ~ Van Nuys, CA)
A. Desperation.  The swing continues in Romney’s favor, but the Democrats are hoping that they can convince Republican voters that it’s fruitless to go to the polls on the 6th.  If the press and media were doing their job on this Benghazi thing, Obama would already be packing his bags.  So, don’t get disillusioned; get out and vote and take your neighbors and friends with you.

Q. Will the Benghazi story get lost in the Hurricane Sandy disaster?  (Nancy ~ Richardson, TX)
A. Let’s hope not.  I think it may play second fiddle for the next two days or so and will end back in the headlines well before Election Day.  Maybe by then we’ll know whether or not Obama called Libya’s President for protection at the Consulate.

Q. How do you think we could best handle the growing threat of Al Qaeda and Islamic Jihadists in the Middle East?  (Chadwick ~ West Seattle, WA)
A. It’s easy to say we should close our embassies and consulates and get totally out, but we also need to have the intelligence on the ground to tell us what is going on.  I think we should quit trying to buy one group or another and break off diplomatic relations with any country that refuses to proactively go after terrorism.  I also think we need to stop meddling in Middle Eastern affairs.  Let them go ahead and annihilate each other.  We should stick with Israel and back any other country that will join us in the fight against these terrorists. Bowing and kissing rear ends over there is obviously not working, as Obama has found out at the cost of four American lives.

MEDIA IGNORES BENGHAZI MASSACRE

President Obama ducked a direct question as to whether or not he knew of and/or denied urgent requests for assistance from the occupants of our Benghazi Consulate late Friday.  “The election has nothing to do with the four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened,” he said in a TV interview.  He was not pressed on the question.  Fox News Network and The Blaze are the only networks covering the story on an on-going basis; most major newspapers are avoiding any coverage or relegating it to back pages.   What IS known at this point is that at least three pleas for help were sent from Benghazi to higher-ups and all three were denied.  Obama initially denied that the attack was anything more than a protest against a video purported to defame Mohamed, and has since engaged in a firm stonewall while the Administration has put forth several different versions of the events that killed four Americans including our U.S. Ambassador.

COMMENTS:
The media by its silence is avoiding its journalistic responsibility to America and is becoming complicit in the cover-up.  It is clear that the media and press will do anything and everything to keep responsible leadership out of the White House.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Obama has become downright vicious in his attacks against Romney.  Doesn’t he have anything productive to offer?  (Blaine ~ Havre, MT)
A. No.

Q. I’m shocked.  I just recently started to dig into some of the things that Obama has done to this country.  I never realized until now, when I’m out of work and can look this stuff up, what a dishonest, conniving s.o.b. he really is.  Why isn’t this fact out for everyone to know?  (Samson ~ Richmond, CA)
A. The media and press are in Obama’s pocket; they will not ask him even one serious question.  Fox News, The Blaze, Limbaugh and a few others, and 100 or so of us bloggers have been desperately trying to wake American up to the facts for months.  We can only pray that enough Americans got the message to make a difference on Election Day.

Q. Romney should be way ahead of Obama in these closing polls.  Why isn’t he?  (Karen ~ Loma Linda, CA)
A. A lot of it has to do with his charisma.  And the fact that Bush did leave a horrible economic mess to be cleaned up is another reason.  But, by and large, the reason is that people have not been paying attention to what is going on in our country.  I think we’ve been deliberately “dumbed down” and misled.

THE REPULSIVE TRUTH

Those on the ground at Benghazi were begging and pleading for help.  Their messages were received at the highest levels of our government.  Their pleas were denied… three times.  Those in a position to help were implicitly told to “stand down” and not to go to the aid of the Consulate.

COMMENTS:
Close your eyes and listen and tell me that Barack Hussein Obama does not sound exactly like Richard Milhous Nixon in the throes of Watergate.  “I am NOT a crook.  I WILL find out who is responsible and I WILL see that they pay the price….”  How can we as Americans tolerate this?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I’m really seriously contemplating marriage, but I’m very worried about the jobs market going into 2013; I don’t know if I can handle the financial burden of marriage and raising a family right now.  (Barry ~ Eugene, OR)
A. Well, Barry, you get two answers for the price of one.  (1) You should be worried.  Every major national employer is saying they are ready for layoffs and cutbacks in capital investment in 2013 due to the adverse impacts and costs of ObamaCare and the prospects of increased taxes.  If your girl is employed, either of you or both of you could lose your jobs; what a bummer of a way to start off a marriage.  (2) If you have to ask the question, you probably don’t love her enough to marry her anyway.  Get a puppy from an animal shelter and ride out the storm.

Q. Where in the hell does the U.N. get off sending “election observers” to the freest country in the world?  (Raedene ~ St. George, UT)
A. Ask President Obama.  If Romney ekes out a win, look for them to say the elections were unfair.  Romney needs to win big.

Q. Now there are reports that the reason we didn’t send help to Benghazi was that they were worried about the possibility more embassies or consulates might come under attack and they wanted to be prepared for it.  I’m not sure I understand that position.  (Billy ~ Cottonwood, CA)
A. Right now, it’s a matter of “If it sounds good, say it.”  The Administration is in deep trouble over this massacre and they know it.  Obama should really be impeached and probably will be if he wins reelection.  No reasonable commander in the field is going to sit by and watch fellow Americans get butchered, wondering if there might be another attack down the road.  You take care of the immediate threat and do it convincingly and there won’t be another attack down the road.
