IT'S CHRISTMAS ON THE MOUNTAIN

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
FROM THE BURNEY MOUNTAIN HERMIT

With all of the bad news and lies coming from our government, I don’t know how anyone can have a Merry Christmas, and certainly not a Happy New Year. But, in the spirit of the season, we must make an honest attempt at it.

I, for one, am “clinging to my guns and religion,” and I fear I may have to defend my rights to have both in 2010.

In honor of His birth, I will not resume publishing this blog until January 2, 2010.

GRAYSON WANTS BLOGGER JAILED

From: The Orlando Sentinel
WASHINGTON — Not everyone thinks imitation is the best form of flattery.
In fact, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson of Orlando took such offense at a parody website aimed at unseating him that the freshman Democrat has asked that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder investigate the Lake County activist who started the anti-Grayson website “mycongressmanisnuts.com.”

Specifically, Grayson accuses Republican activist Angie Langley of lying to federal elections. His four-page complaint highlights the fact that the Clermont resident lives outside his district, but that Langley still uses the term “my” in “mycongressmanisnuts.com.”

“Ms. Langley has deliberately masqueraded as a constituent of mine, in order to try to create the false appearance that she speaks for constituents who don’t support me,” writes Grayson. “[She] has chosen a name for her committee that is utterly tasteless and juvenile.”

Grayson’s office did not respond with comment other than to confirm the letter exists — including its request that Langley be fined and “imprisoned for five years.”

COMMENTS:
And, so it begins. First, the attack on Freedom of Speech. Second, the trashing of Americans who are against the Health Care Plan, by calling them “lunatics” and “fringe terrorists.” Third, the ATF attack on individual state sovereignty and gun rights in Montana. Fourth, the looming passage of “Cap & Trade” legislation, now that the Health Care debacle has been manipulated up our posteriors without Vaseline.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The people from Nebraska must feel mighty smug with what Nelson got for them?
(Maxine ~ Littleton, CO)
A. Not if they’re Americans they don’t. Frankly, I’d be ashamed, more than anything.

Q. Under this health care plan, will the Members of Congress have to comply with the same set of rules as we do?
(Bertha ~ Sparks, NV)
A. Are you serious? Are you serious?

Q. What is the best way to get into politics?
(Tyler ~ Lincoln, CA)
A. Start by rolling in pig and horse manure for a few days, otherwise no one will recognize that you’re a politician.

MR. PRESIDENT, SIR! YOU ARE A LIAR

The President has promptly run to the TV Cameras to proclaim a “victory for the people.” In jumping up and down with his Christmas present from Harry Reid, Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman, Obama chastised the American people who lamented that this will cost the country hundreds of billions of dollars by asserting that it will save the country money over ten years.

COMMENTS:
Mr. President, I respectfully disagree with your lying ways. You shoved billions of dollars in Medicaid expenses back onto the states, (with the exception of Nebraska, the state where Ben Nelson lives, who you totally bought off with our money), you devastated Medicare, you raise my taxes and my insurance premiums, you increased my taxes… and, (just one small, additional detail), you neglected to add that the Congressional Budget Office has come out yesterday and said it made a $500 billion “mistake.” You and I know that “mistake” was deliberate in order to get the Senate vote.

So, sir, you are a liar and I will not apologize for saying it.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What was it that Sarah Palin did in Salt Lake City that has all of the Republicans there ticked off?
(Minnie ~ Sun Valley, ID)
A. http://www.sltrib.com/ci_14003093?IADID=Search-www.sltrib.com-www.sltrib.com

Q. Back in the days of the draft, you could file a petition as a “Conscientious Objector” on religious principles and get out of the draft. With the health care plan allowing for government funds to be used for abortions, can I refuse to pay taxes as a “Conscientious Objector?”
(Billie ~ Morgan Hill, CA)
A. Sounds like a perfectly legal argument to me. I don’t know how the Supreme Court could turn you down.

Q. I hear the Feds have been quietly starting up their anti-gun campaign, starting with Montana?
(Brett ~ North Platte, NE)
A. Montana enacted a provision that says any gun manufactured in Montana, sold there and used there is not subject to Federal gun laws on the basis of state sovereignty. The Feds have notified all gun dealers in Montana that, if they violate any Federal gun law they will be prosecuted and they don’t give a damn about state sovereignty. The Feds claim almighty right on the basis that guns manufactured elsewhere and sold elsewhere DO cross state lines and therefore, all gun sales anywhere come under the Interstate Commerce clause, which gives the Feds total control.

OBAMA, “EPITOME OF POLITICAL QUACKERY,” STRIKES AGAIN

President Obama, once again calling for “transparency,” has sounded the alarm over climate change and called upon leaders of the world for action before it is too late; “Time is running short,” and once again one of his favorite cliches, "The time for talk is over." At the time this post was written, Obama had uttered forth with the cryptic message that a magnificent breakthrough has occurred.

COMMENTS:
The sky s falling, the sky is falling! Quick! Pass TARP! Pass the Recovery Act! Fork over another stimulus! Pass Health Care before the swine flu kills all of us! The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Fork over your wallets, your children's wallets, your grand children’s wallets before we all die! The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Quick! Breathe while we still have air!! Oh, my God! The messiah has saved us! He has a “breakthrough!” Grab your great-grand-children's wallets!

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I can’t believe my ears. I think I heard something about the Republican Party backing a Democrat in the Kentucky Senatorial race?
(Milo – Lawton, OK)
A. Well, you have it partly right. Rand Paul, son of Ron Paul, tossed his hat into the Kentucky Senatorial Republican Primary and is now leading Trey Grayson. Grayson is a “former” Democrat and strong Clinton supporter whom the National Republican Committee has chosen to fund instead of Rand Paul, who has come from behind both in the polls and in fund-raising. It’s exactly this type of activity that tells me the Republican Party is still a major disappointment and is not ready to take back a leadership role in this country.

Q. There’s been a lot of talk lately about the American Tea Party becoming a third political party and taking on both the Republicans and the Democrats. What are your thoughts?
(Candice – Needles, CA)
A. As attractive as that sounds to me, here’s the logistical problem. The Tea Party wants our country to get back to its founding roots and to abide by the Constitution, which it should. Based on just that alone, it should attract a whole lot of Independents, Republicans and Democrats. However, it is a conservative movement as well, which means that “moderates” and left liberals will probably not be enticed. In a three-way race, the Republicans would probably get 30%, the Tea Party 30% and the leftist Democrats 40%. I’d like to see the Tea Party field a few candidates in 2010 to establish its viability, because I think they could win some seats and shake up the “establishment.” I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Q. Who do you favor for the 2012 Presidential elections?
(Ann – Las Vegas, NV)
A. Newt and Sarah would make a good team, I think. But, we’ll probably end up with Joe Dullard and Felix Fumblebutt. I don’t see Biden back on the Demo ticket; maybe Obama and Pelosi?

CLINTON OBLIGATES U.S. TO OVER $1 TRILLION

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in speaking at the Copenhagen Climate Summit, promised that the United States would commit $100 billion per year toward helping poor countries resolve global warming issues. Over a ten year period, (the length of the obligation was not stated), this would amount to another $1 trillion or more on the nation’s burgeoning deficit. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was also in attendance during the session, immediately announced that she would see to it that the commitment will be honored.

COMMENTS:
Don’t these guys have any clue? We are already in debt up to our eyeballs. We can’t take any more of this cavalier spending. And, where do they get off making these kinds of commitments anyway, without Congressional action? It takes a 2/3 majority of the Senate to do this, according to the Constitution, that is.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I just learned that Howard Dean, Chairman of the National Democratic Party, has come out against passage of the Health Care Bill in the Senate? What does that mean?
(Angel – Monarch Beach, CA)
A. Nothing. The Obama Administration and Reid do not pay any attention to Howard Dean; he’s a nobody, a pissant like us. Obama’s response to Dean’s stance was another scare tactic similar to the ones he employed to rush passage of the TARP and Stimulus bills; he says that if this health care bill is not passed immediately, the sky will fall in and the country won’t be able to pay its debt. At this point, it seems to me Obama has nearly exhausted all of his political capital and public charm with his bully tactics.

Q. I saw on TV yesterday that only 22% of Americans think Congress is doing a good job. What does that mean?
(Angel – Monarch Beach, CA)
A. This is the first time I have answered two questions from the same person, so you are now a celebrity. It means nothing. Reid and Pelosi are in charge of Congress, not us. As far as they are concerned, 100% of the elite people who matter support Congress. We pissants should not even be polled.

Q. When are they going to release the name of the suspect in the U.S. Bank shooting?
(Jim – Burney, CA)
A. They finally did that yesterday and it is not widely reported. His name is Gregorio Enrique Estrada, 46, of Chico. There was a report that one Steven Bautista of Burney was engaged in hand signals with the suspect from outside of the bank. One report had Shasta County deputies speaking with Bautista at the Burney Fire Station and releasing him; it was also reported that deputies were again looking to interview Bautista a second time, but that has not been confirmed and a late Wednesday afternoon Shasta County Sheriff’s Office report shows Estrada as acting alone.

U.S. SENATOR THREATENED BY WHITE HOUSE?

At least three White House and Congressional sources are now saying that U.S. Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska was told by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel the White House would put Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska on the base closure list, (BRAC) unless Nelson casts his vote in favor of the Senate Health Care Bill. Offutt is the headquarters for the Strategic Air Command and as such is vital to the nation’s security. Nelson has adamantly said he will not vote in favor of the pending Senate Health Care Bill unless it contains a provision prohibiting public-funded abortions. Both the White House and Senator Nelson have denied the report of a threat.

COMMENTS:
The fact that three different reliable sources have made the allegation lends credence to the story. Nelson would probably not betray his party by admitting that the threat had been made. In my opinion, Emanuel would not have made such a threat without Obama’s knowledge and possibly his direction. The White House under this Administration has already become widely known for its “Chicago-style hardball muscle” used to force anyone and everyone to do as it orders, “or else.” But, this is an impeachable offense and needs to be immediately investigated to the fullest. If true, Obama is nothing more than a common street thug, and he and his “gang” need to go.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What’s the latest on the robbery at the U.S. Bank in Burney?
(Arlie – Johnson Park, CA)
A. The suspect who was shot in the bank during the police standoff died. Two customers were injured. Four employees escaped uninjured; one had been hiding in the ATM vault room and the three others had been taken hostage by the suspect. Sheriff’s officers handled this robbery with top professionalism.

Q. Just what are we going to do about the situation in Iran? They seem to be awfully close to being able to deliver a nuke to Israel.
(Ford – Williamsburg, VA)
A. Well, we could try sending Obama over there to apologize; maybe a good laugh would ease the tension. Or, we could make a preemptive strike and take out his sites. However, the latter option would probably force radical Muslims in this country into open Jihad and we would be in deep trouble. For now, it appears that we are on a tightrope to hell.

Q. I heard on the news that the Fed is leaving interest rates at their record low. In lay man’s terms, what does that mean?
(Quint - New York, NY)
A. It means that womens' hemlines will be lower. Actually, it’s the first good news I’ve heard in months. It means that interest rates on money being lent will stay down, even if demand for loans does increase. That would ordinarily encourage businesses to borrow, hire, and expand, but we are still fearful about what the Health Care Bill will cost us, what Cap & Trade will cost us, how much our taxes are going to go up, and a myriad of other concerns posed by this Administration, so we are still hesitant. Another drawback is that money being saved also draws low interest.

ABOUT THOMSON CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

The White House has announced that it will send Guantanamo terrorism detainees to Thomson Correctional Prison in northwestern Illinois. They point out that the almost new prison is virtually empty anyway and that it will help the economy there.

COMMENTS:
Why in the Sam Hell did the Illinois Legislature approve a state prison to be built if it was going to be empty?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Most of the people who work for the government couldn’t hold a job in the private sector. Why are they getting paid more than the private sector jobs?
(Archie – Plains, GA)
A. Because that’s the way the new Politburo works. I’m surprised you didn’t complain about the big federal raise everyone just got. Oh, you didn’t know about that? Gosh, I don’t know how the media could have possibly overlooked reporting on that…..

Q. With 65% of the country now opposing the current proposed health care plans, how can Obama possibly be smiling and jumping up and down with glee that it is going to be passed before Christmas?
(Jennifer – Cottonwood, AZ)
A. Because the Messiah is going to get his way. And, by the way, it has already been greased through; the Senate will vote on it tomorrow or Friday and it’s not even going to go into a conference meeting, Pelosi is saying it will go straight to the floor of the House and be passed, which means public funds WILL be used to fund abortions. Take that, my fellow Americans.

Q. I hear that, once again, the government has screwed up the swine flu shots?
(Ellie – San Diego, CA)
A. Yes. The shots for the wee little young ones are not strong enough. This is what a government-run health care program is all about. Maybe they were all out partying with their raises and forgot?

PUBLIC OPTION REMOVED FROM HEALTH CARE BILL?

The Democrat Senate Caucus agreed last night to drop the public option from the proposed Health Care Bill. The president promptly called for a special meeting today with Congressional leaders to discuss the Bill. The President is adamant that he wants his Bill before Christmas.

COMMENTS:
As Obama would say: “We’ll take what we can get now and we’ll come back and get the rest later.” This move is more smoke and mirrors. The public option is not the only drastic thing wrong with this Bill. Why are we not capping malpractice awards? What about the price of medicine? What about illegal aliens? What about the provision for senior death counseling? They are all acting like the rest is a done deal and we’ll be happy with it. I’ve got news for them; it’s still the worst piece of legislation ever to be considered.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why is Obama threatening our banks? If we don’t want their damned loans, can they force them down our throats?
(Madeline – Fair Oaks, CA)
A. One would be foolish not to try and obtain or increase a credit line in these times. To use it, however, would be senseless for at least the next 12 months. There are ominous signs that the economy could tank again during the first quarter of 2010 and that it could be worse than the mess we’ve been in.

Q. What would happen if the U.S. defaulted on its debts?
(Fallon – Bend, OR)
A. We’d all be speaking Chinese. Seriously, default is a realistic possibility; our economy cannot, I repeat…cannot… take on any more financial burdens. If we default, we will probably first get an extension for payment providing we pay some kind of penalty. But, we will not be able to borrow any more and the stock market will plummet. The government will finally be forced to cut expenses drastically, meaning cutting programs and laying off tens of thousands of employees. Aid to other countries would also be a casualty and such a default could ultimately lead to a global depression beyond anyone’s comprehension.

Q. Will unemployment start to go away now?
(Mindy – Calhoun, GA)
A. Since these guys seem to manufacture figures and statistics out of thin air on any given subject, they may be telling us that for the next two or three months. There has been some additional seasonal hiring for the holidays and the government itself will be hiring thousands of temporary census takers, so they will count those as people being fully employed. But, after the brief relief, look for unemployment filings to go up again.

HEALTH PLANS DO NOT REDUCE OUR COSTS!

There is no current health care bill, either as passed by the House or being considered by the Senate, that reduces our costs; they all increase our costs, some more than others. They will increase both our insurance premiums and our taxes. Neither provision provides for capping malpractice awards or prescription costs, so both plans will continue to add costs to us in the future. Regardless of increased costs, neither plan covers all Americans; as many as 25-30 million people will remain not covered. Well will be forced to pay the higher taxes for 4-5 years before the new plans kick into effect.

COMMENTS:
This is before you get to the issues of abortion, illegal aliens, impacts on Medicare and Medicaid and senior death counseling.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I don’t know that there is enough science yet to prove or disprove the global warming theory. But Obama, Gore and others are so assertive, I just feel like we’re getting rushed into things again. What do you think?
(Milo – Elko, NV)
A. They’re all full of hot air.

Q. What is your opinion of the Omnibus Bill?
(Gretchen – Scottsdale, AZ)
A. The only problem I have with it is it includes so damned much pork. When you are down and out in family finances, how often do you take the kids out to a professional ball game? Some of the things they are spending money on don’t even make sense when you have black ink on your bottom line, let alone when you are in a sea of red ink.

Q. I understand they are about to legalize male prostitution in Nevada.
(Jean – Phoenix, AZ)
A. There is one brothel applying for a license and the subject is going to be heard in the legislature. There is some opposition, but if those guys can keep it up, it will probably pass.

WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON WITH THE IMMIGRATION ISSUE: You’ll Be Shocked

Moving to the front burner in early 2010 will be legislation to “create a pathway” to full legalization of “undocumented immigrants.” In October, Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced his ideas to members of the House of Representatives. His proposal includes updated enforcement at the border, revamping the employment eligibility verification system, and protecting U.S. workers. Gutierrez remarked that it is important to strengthen the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. "We all want a country that is better educated, better motivated and better prepared for the future. My plan will strengthen the DREAM Act, making it quicker and easier for students who grew up in America and know no other home to fully participate in our society. Immigrants brought here as children should not be punished with fines or other means; rather, they should be fully integrated into our society as the Americans they truly are-and as quickly as possible." Although not publicly acknowledged, a free health care and education plan will also emerge.

As for the second and even more serious issue, the Senate recently rejected Utah Senator Bob Bennett's proposal to include a question about citizenship in the 2010 census. Bennett's goal was to remove non-citizens from counts that determine the amount of representation states receive in the House of Representatives. According to alien representatives and other immigrant groups, there is “concern” that such a question would discourage non-citizens from participating in the census or that this information could be used to target non-citizens for immigration violations or deportation.

COMMENTS:
So, if you want to change a predominantly Republican district, you tell all of your illegal aliens to move there during the Census, in return for which you legalize their status here and provide them with free health care and education at my expense, while those who are legally going through the system trying to get here wait years and years and have to pay for their own health care and education once they do get in?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q.
What do you think of Tiger Woods’ decision to lay off competitive golf until he straightens out his personal life? (Sven – Truckee, CA)
A. I think he’s coming to grips, (play on words), with what he has done. Not that I’m without sin, but it is a lesson in life: we need to follow Biblical teachings, or we are going to get burned in more ways than one, (another play on words,).

Q. If Obama flew all of the way to Oslo to get his Nobel Prize, why didn’t he just stay over there and go on to Copenhagen from there? Why the two trips, when they cost so much and we are in economic hurts?
(Greta – Carpenteria, CA)
A. Because he is in a different class of status than we are. He, Reid and Pelosi belong to the elite class, and the rest of us belong to the pissant class. Get used to it; when your nation is run by a Politburo, that’s the way it is.

Q. I still say that there is so much confusing over this Health Care Bill. I am perfectly happy with the coverage I have but, can you give me some real facts?
(Royce – Billings, MT)
A. Here are a few:
• Spending: The cost of the bill is $2.5 trillion over 10 years.
• Tax increases: Taxes will go up $493.6 billion – nearly half a trillion in new debt.
• Medicare cuts: Medicare will be cut – conservatively – by $464.6 billion, another half a trillion dollars (note: some estimates say it cuts could be as high as $600 billion).
• Total number of pages: 2074.

CONGRESS TO RAISE DEBT CEILING TO $13.9 TRILLION?

The proposed increase is $1.8 trillion, from $12.1 trillion to $13.9 trillion. The deficit this year alone increased by $1.4 trillion.

COMMENTS:
I disagree. I don’t think $1.8 trillion as an increase is enough. If we’re increasing our borrowing by $1.4 trillion per year now, and with $700 billion per year or so in interest alone, $1.8 trillion won’t be enough to carry us through the whole year next year. Why don’t we just raise it now to $50 trillion so we can cover the increased spending by Congress and the interest as well for the next five years? I mean, if we can never pay it back anyway, what difference does it make? Hell, let’s go for $100 trillion…

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard there was a huge demonstration in San Francisco the other night demanding the public option in the Health Care Bill. That surprises me.
(Ima – San Rafael, CA)
A. There were two dozen… three dozen at the tops… marching up the street with a drum and they made the news, alright. Isn’t that amazing when tens of thousands at the Tea Party did NOT make the news? Is the media and press engineering public policy, or what?

Q. This is not a question, but hoping you can say something about it. Shelters for the homeless and food banks are really hurting this season.
(Benjamin – Sacramento, CA)
A. Glad you mention it. Yes, it’s a double whammy. Unemployment is at 10%, foreclosures are at an unprecedented rate, and the need for such help is so much greater. Donations are down, need is up. If you have some extra clothing or food, please donate it to the shelter nearest you. Just be certain that you have paid the taxes on it before you give it away.

Q. What do you make of these American terrorists being caught in Pakistan?
(Sidney – Albany, NY)
A. This is a cell of American-born and raised terrorists that was undetected until they went missing and turned up in Pakistan. This shows that our American intelligence is slipping and, frankly, that scares the hell out of me, especially when we have an Administration that can't add 2 + 2.

CONGRESS WANTS TO INCREASE NATIONAL DEBT CEILING BY $2 TRILLION

The current national debt ceiling is $12.1 trillion Congress wants to raise it by $1.8 trillion. “It is December, We don’t really have a choice,” House Appropriations Committee Chairman Dave Obey said. “The bill’s already been run up; the credit card has already been used. When you get the bill in the mail you need to pay it,” he added.

COMMENT
S:
In other words, you ask for the increased credit limit after you run up the tab. Isn’t that somewhat akin to holding a gun to my grandchild’s head? WHEN WILL THIS CRAP STOP?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. A friend of mine tells me that California has run out of money to pay its unemployment recipients? Is that true, and what are they doing about it?
(Dino – Santa Rosa, CA)
A. According to California officials, it’s a computer glitch that they are working feverishly on to fix. But, they add that they are short-staffed due to the cutbacks and it may well be after Christmas before they get it fixed. But, there’s some good news. They are going to raise the tolls on all of the bridges, so more people will probably move out of the state and maybe that will create some job openings.

Q. I hear that a Russian missile test sparked a rash of UFO sightings. How could the two be confused?
(Josh – San Dimas, CA)
A. The missile test story is a cover-up; I watched the whole thing from my observatory. Alien beings from another star system have been secretly populating Earth in a plot to take over. Their last trip was so successful that they brought three more, clones of the original three: Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Wow.

Q. The whole health care debate has been raging for months now, and I get more and more confused. What is this latest flap about the government run plan being changed, and then changed again?
(Sharice – Troy, NY)
A. Confusion is another tactic they are using to try and pull the wool over our eyes. This is such an ugly piece of crap they are about to force down our throats, and you really do need to spend a few hours on the Internet digging at the facts. In the latest move, the Senate dropped the provision for the Government-run “option” and replaced it with a provision allowing people 55 years of age and over to qualify for Medicare. They then all had a big celebration in the Senate and announced that they are getting ready to pass their legislation. This was met by a huge uproar from the American Medical Association complaining that they have enough trouble getting paid by Medicare as it is. So, bowing to their buddies who contributed so much money last election, the Senate is back to the drawing board to change that new section. My God, this thing is going to be over 3,000 pages by the time it’s done.

WHITE HOUSE ORDERS CONGRESS TO ENACT CAP & TRADE

The White House has told Congress they must pass the Cap & Trade legislation immediately. The top White House Economic aide, unnamed, warned Congress that, unless they immediately get this passed, the EPA will initiate Administrative Regulations to do it anyway. The warning said that the Environmental Protection Agency will take a "command-and-control" role over the process in a way that could hurt business.

COMMENTS:
The Obama Administration has now transformed itself into being the American Politburo. We are under fascist rule. If this doesn’t sound exactly like the Chicago Mob, what does?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you think of the new proposed modified Government Option on the Health Care Bill?
(Gwen ~ Williams, AZ)
A. Send an email to your Senator: “Take your smoke and mirrors, tricks and deceptions and shove it.” Be sure to sign it, “With fondest personal regards….”

Q. They’re talking about another $250 stimulus to seniors. What’s your opinion? (Sy – Sparks, NV)
A. My Medicare premiums are going to go up and my supplemental insurance premiums are going to go up a total of $2,100 a year, and my taxes are going up another $2,000 and they are going to give me $250 to bribe me into going along with it? My opinion is they should convert the $250 to pennies and pound it where the sun doesn’t shine.

Q. What is the new flap about TSA and posting of procedures on a website?
(Lynda – Burney, CA)
A. A copy of TSA screening procedures was posted on the Internet as a result of a mistake. Knowledge of the procedures could enable a terrorist to discover ways to get onto aircraft with bombs or other weapons. This is the latest in a series of really dumb moves made by agencies of the American Politburo.

MOODY’S WARNS GOVERNMENT: Quit Spending Money

The widely trusted independent Moody’s is warning that the continued spending by Congress and the President could lead them to lower the AAA bond rating of the United States Government. Debt management and fiscal deficit reductions are key ingredients to maintaining the AAA rating and the U.S. could see its rating drop as early as 2013 if current trends don’t change. Lowering of the ratings would mean fewer countries would want to loan the U.S. money and the economy could be more severely impacted.

COMMENTS:
When will Washington get the damned message?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Every day we hear more bad news. Will it never end?
(Christine – Fallon, NV)
A. Not today. CBS is canceling “AS THE WORLD TURNS.”

Q. Do you think they will ever prosecute the couple that crashed the White House Party?
(Thad – Brookline, MA)
A. No.

Q. New there’s a new study that says coffee is good for you?
(Madeline – Norwalk, CA)
A. Sorry, that’s not good news for you; at least I don’t think so. The study says that men who drink lots of coffee have a lower incidence of prostate cancer.

REID GETS VILE, NASTY AND DOWNRIGHT UGLY

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told the Senate and the country yesterday that those of us who want to slow the Health Care Bill passage down and to have further debate on the issues or to start afresh with a new plan, are worse than those who supported slavery before the Civil War, who opposed Women’s Suffrage and who fought the Civil Rights Amendment.

COMMENTS:
This offensive outburst from the esteemed Senate Majority Leader underscores my opinion that he does not belong in public service. He should be immediately removed from office for violations of ethics. How dare he continue to use this mean, evil-spirited rhetoric toward those of us who are patriotic Americans and who want the best for our country and its posterity, and who want to make sure we get it right. Just because we are adamantly opposed to HIS plan does not in any remote way suggest that we are against improving our health care system. His unjustified attack shows just how small a person he really is.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Isn’t anyone going to conduct an investigation of ACORN?
(Isaac – Pendleton, OR)
A. Not Eric Holder; he keeps his paws off of anything that might prove embarrassing to the Administration. Besides, ACORN conducted its own internal investigation and says that the “sting” videos do not show any illegal conduct and they expect to get their funding back. Nothing like rubbing our noses in it, is there?

Q. I’m not sure what this new EPA ruling about carbon dioxide means.
(Max – Taos, NM)
A. Hold your breath. It means that what you exhale, carbon dioxide, should be taxed.

Q. There’s a poll out that shows the American Tea Party as being more popular than the Republicans, but not strong enough to beat the Democrats. The total between both the Tea Party and the Republicans could beat the Democrats. Independents predominantly like the Tea Party concept. What does all of this mean?
(Farrah – Grand Rapids, MI)
A. It means people are finally starting to get really ticked off with “politics as usual.” The pile of manure is starting to stink.

TODAY’S QUOTE:

SENATE REFUSES TO LIMIT MALPRACTICE AWARDS

In a rare Sunday session generally reserved for emergency legislation, The United States Senate responded to President Obama’s appearance on the Hill by voting down a proposed amendment to the Government-Run Health Care Bill that would have placed limits on malpractice awards. Malpractice awards are a major bone of contention among Republicans and independents who feel that health costs cannot be contained until malpractice insurance costs can be controlled.

COMMENTS:
This is an outright slap in the face to millions of Americans and an “Up yours” from every Senator who voted against the proposed amendment. Are you getting angry enough to get off of your couch and do something about this American tragedy yet?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. If you had your choice, what would you send Obama for Christmas?
(Elsie – Miami, FL)
A. A lump of coal.

Q. Has General Petraeus reacted to the President’s 30,000 additional troops with a deadline for pulling them out?
(Garth – Bainbridge, WA)
A. In a Fox News interview yesterday, Petraeus said that he can live with it and it makes sense to him. Finally, we’ve found someone on the face of the Earth who says they can understand Obama.

Q. What significance does Pearl Harbor Day have for you?
(Mandi – Napa, CA)
A. It was an overt attempt by Japan to bring the U.S. to its knees. They destroyed and sunk ships and left Pearl Harbor defenseless. Now, the Congress is doing the same thing to us with the Health Care Plan; they are destroying and sinking our economy and turning us into a Marxist country.

PRESIDENT TO BARNSTORM CONGRESS TODAY

President Barrack Hussein Obama will visit the Senate today, Sunday, to twist arms, threaten, coerce and to make it otherwise clear that he wants his Government-Run Health Care passed and on his desk whether 70% of Americans now oppose it or not.

COMMENTS:
Read my post of December 4th on this subject. Lo and behold, up pops the President to go to the Hill and impose his will on the Congress. “My will is your bidding? Happy Holidays and up yours?”

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Obama is running around like crazy shouting that the recovery is complete. I don’t get it. If unemployment is solved, why is he having a “Jobs Conference?”
(Marylou – Sebastopol, CA)
A. Because he’s lying and he knows it. Not only is the October drop from 10.2% to 10.0% probably a lie, as virtually all of the other figures coming out of the White House have been, but it doesn’t reveal whether the “drop” was due to people exhausting all of their benefits and dropping off the roles, or due to new hiring, of which there has been virtually none. The Republicans have been asserting that the decease has been due to seasonal hiring for the holidays, which traditionally doesn’t start until November and then you see a big drop in hiring in January. Obviously, no one of any substance out there knows how business and hiring really work except those in business, of which none were asked to attend the “Jobs Conference,” which should be renamed the “Farce Conference.”

Q. Why has the furor and anger about the terrorist trials being held in New York City gone away?
(Chuck – Steubenville, OH)
A. It hasn’t. There’s been so much other dastardly news coming out of Washington that it has been temporarily lost in the shuffle. Of all of the rotten things Obama has already done to this country, this one will turn out to be his waterloo.

Q. I saw on the news the other night that the new Oakland Bay Bridge is in trouble and that it’s going to cost hundreds of millions of more dollars to finish the project. Since California is broke, where is the money going to come from?
(Wally – Pleasanton, CA)
A. Fear not, my friend. Not until your wallet has been picked totally clean will there be a bridge that cannot be built.

"SMOKE AND MIRRORS" HEALTH CARE PLAN IN THE WORKS?

The Senate is working feverishly to start peeling off enough “offensive” parts of the Government-Run Health Care Bill to get a few more votes and get a bill passed before the Christmas Holidays. The back rooms of the House of Representatives are getting ready to receive the bill and, perhaps, to conference and act on it as a Christmas present to the President. The game plan would be able to claim victory in the Health Care battle, and then to come back and reinsert the “offensive” parts of the Bill, either as “tack-ons” to other bills to avoid public notice, or as an amendment to the original bill.

COMMENTS:
Politely put, the fatherless idiots are using every dirty trick in the book, every lie, every distraction, every tidbit of misinformation that they can spread, and payoffs with our taxpayer money, in an overt attempt to get this passed against America’s will. Our real war is not with terrorists; our real war is with the bastards on the Hill and in the White House who are willing to sell this country down the drain financially and change our government economically without a shot being fired.

Pay attention to what is happening.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q.
Why didn’t the President put more effort on jobs creation back in February or March? And, why isn’t the U.S. Chamber of Commerce invited? (Margarita – Brownsville, TX)
A. Because he was busy taking over banks and car manufacturing companies and because he’s not serious about jobs creation; it’s a dog and pony show.

Q. Obama is going to Copenhagen to try and get a world commitment to fight global warming. I understand that, due to the loss of his credibility with the phony statistics about global warming and with the costs to the U.S. being some $148 trillion, there is little enthusiasm for this effort. Why is he going anyway?
(Sorkis – St. Louis, MO)
A. To keep our minds off what is happening on the Hill with his Health Care Plan?

Q. I hear there was a big protest in San Francisco about the decision to add more troops in Afghanistan?
(Teresa – Atherton, CA)
A. Isn’t it odd how 400 protestors in San Francisco made headlines, while several hundred thousand protestors against the Health Care Plan did not even make news in Washington, DC?

MORE BULL ABOUT ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Once again, government officials are running around avowing that the economic recovery has worked and the world is again rosy. Ben Bernancke, a close personal cohort of Tim Geithner, has been leading the charge. It was these two dudes who stampeded Congress and the rest of the country into TARP, bailouts, and stimulus. They say that eight of the Fed's 12 regions surveyed reported some pickup in activity or improved conditions. Those regions were: Boston, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas and San Francisco.

COMMENTS:
Unemployment continues to rise. More houses are in delinquency and various stages of foreclosure every day. Retail sales are again sluggish. Not one fact or statistic put out by Washington in the last 11 months has been accurate. Many stories have been purely manufactured bull designed to mislead us about global warming, economic recovery results, the stimulus figures, costs of the health care plan…and the President himself has said that this problem is a “side issue.” That attitude underscores the fact that we cannot trust anything they say and is an open admission of misinformation being provided.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. With a few states now legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes, where can you learn how to grow it with the best agricultural results?
(Marv – Escondido, CA)
A. Believe it or not, there’s a college in Michigan: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/29/education/29marijuana.html?_r=2&th&emc=th

Q. What do you think Obama will come up with in his jobs creation conference this month? (Obie – Mobile, AL)
A. I’ll tell you one thing he won’t come up with: lower taxes, which has historically been proven to create jobs.

Q. I can’t believe they’re going ahead with plans to create a “War Tax.” What’s your opinion?
(Paul – Carson City, NV)
A. They are going to try and couple it with funding for the additional troops in Afghanistan; if the tax bill fails, no funding for the additional troops. I hope it passes and Obama signs off on it. That should be the straw that is needed to get all of the nincompoops run out of office, if not out of the country.

LANDMARK SUPREME COURT DECISION ON TERRORIST PHOTOS!!

The Supreme Court Monday set aside a lower court ruling requiring the government to release photographs showing the abuse of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan. The decision was three sentences long and unsigned. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals had ordered the photos released last year.

COMMENTS:
That stunning news surely got buried in all of the other drama, didn’t it?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I’m just curious. How many illegal aliens do you suppose support the Health Care Plan?
(Viola – Ardmore, OK)
A. I don’t know, but a recent poll says 74% of Latinos support it. That’s why they came here in the first place, right? To get free health care? And, a majority of them work in lower paying jobs that don’t provide insurance.

Q. So, how DID that couple manage to get past Secret Service and into the White House party?
(Marilyn – Baltimore, MD)
A. My personal opinion is that either Barack or Michelle or someone else at that level waved them in against Secret Service rules and protests. Yesterday, the Secret Service took the blame. That is the first time in known history that this has happened, so something is being covered up. It smells worse than the NEW YORK TIMES wrapped around a dead fish.

Q. I heard yesterday that the proposed Cap & Trade legislation, if passed, would cost another $148 trillion to our economy. Has the President lost his marbles?
(Porky – Weed, CA)
A. This is really more about transferring our wealth to foreign countries than anything else. As for marbles, I’m beginning to think that, if Obama has any at all, Obama cheated someone else out of them.

WHITE HOUSE "CZAR" ENTANGLED IN CLIMATEGATE

The director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Dr. John P. Holdren, is a major player in the Climategate e-mails debacle, which may be the biggest scandal in the history of modern science.

Holdren is a global warming activist who has had no time for antagonists. He openly contends that questioning “has delayed – and continues to delay – the development of the political consensus that will be needed if society is to embrace remedies commensurate with the challenge.”

The Canada Free Press last week revealed that the former Harvard professor and Al Gore global warming adviser figures prominently in the volumes of e-mails and other files made public after the hacking last week of a computer server used by the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit. Those files reveal a pattern of deception and statistical misrepresentations deliberately designed to support the global warming theory in order to force Cap & Trade legislation and other unnecessary environmental reforms on an unsuspecting American public.

COMMENTS:
You just can’t trust a single word, fact or figure released by Obama, the White House or the Administration. Their existence is built around a full house of lies.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I saw an article that says the State if New York is on the verge of bankruptcy. What’s next in this endless parade of bad news and governmental mishandling of things?
(Penny – Primm, NV)
A. California. There will be several more states if the Senate gets its way and saddles states with several hundred billions of dollars in health care costs being hidden in the Medicaid program.

Q. Why isn’t Tiger Woods talking with the Florida Highway Patrol?
(Ivan – Hollywood, FL)
A. I think he’s teed off.

Q. Did I hear correctly that a California State legislator is going to introduce a bill to ban divorce?
(Nick – Stockton, CA)
A. Yes. His reasoning is that, since those who voted against gay marriage want to preserve the sanctity of marriage, they should have no problem with banning divorce. I would banish him to a zoo, except that all of the monkeys would probably get up and leave.

THE OBAMA TERRORIST TRIALS - DAY 18:

FOUR POLICE OFFICERS KILLED NEAR SEATTLE

One female and three male police officers were gunned down execution-style in a Lakewood, Washington coffee shop yesterday. The police eventually named one Maurice Clemmons as a “person of interest” and served search warrants on several locations in Pierce County. Clemmons has an extensive criminal history in Arkansas and was recently transferred to Washington State for an unknown reason. He is also currently in trouble with law enforcement in Washington on other, non-related charges.

COMMENTS:
So, why is it that violent criminals with bad records are often set loose by a broken judicial system that is in far more serious need of repair than our health care system, but President Obama, a lawyer, seems to be more interested in his Health Care Plan that specifically does not address malpractice awards?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you think about the proposed new California rule that all gun shops would have to have digital fingerprinting machines where ammo purchasers would have to give their thumbprint every time they buy ammo and an instant check will tell whether or not they are a felon who can be sold ammo?
(Frances – San Gabriel, CA)
A. Who is going to pay for the reader, the computer, the telephone line? Who is going to stop the guy from crossing state lines to get his ammo? Maybe they’ll build ten foot fences to keep that from happening? What about all of the ammo that everyone already has? This is about the dumbest idea since pet rocks.

Q. What do you think about the snowfall in San Diego?
(Buck – Alpine, CA)
A. This global warming simply has to stop. And, by the way, the Gore family should be run off to jail for their deliberately faulty science. Under a pet rock in Guantanamo would suit me just fine.

Q. What do you think about Iran saying they are going to build more facilities to refine uranium in? Isn’t this situation getting really dangerous?
(Arlene – Yankton, SD)
A. There’s nothing we can do about it. We need to save all of our money to pay for Obama’s Government-Run Health Care Plan.

IRAN MAY TELL U.N. TO TAKE A HIKE

One of Iran’s rulers has warned that they may pull out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as a result of the U.N.’s resolution to censure the country over its refusal to come clean about its nuclear ambitions. More than one leader has suggested the withdrawal may be in the works, and such a move virtually removes the U.N. power to do anything to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons. "The parliament, in its first reaction to this illegal and politically-motivated resolution, can consider the issue of withdrawing from the NPT," Mohammad Karamirad was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency, referring to the treaty. "The parliament ... (also) can block the entry of IAEA inspectors to the country."

COMMENTS:
The United States will not take any action for at least 90 days; that’s how long our President takes to make major decisions, such as what to do about Afghanistan troop levels.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Any word on how the retail sales were on Black Friday?
(Sly – Farmingdale, NJ)
A. Early reports are about the same as last year…an increase of ½%. And last year, if you remember correctly, went on to be a very bad retail season.

Q. I just read that the number of handguns per person in the United States is at an all-time high. How does that compare with the number of violent crimes committed?
(Garwin – Truth-or-Consequences, NM)
A. The percentage of violent crimes has plummeted. Here’s another interesting statistic: Vermont, which is acknowledged as being the easiest state to buy handguns in, and a state where you can carry concealed handguns without a permit, the percentage of violent crimes is lowest; in California, where gun regulations are very strict, the number of violent crimes involving guns is highest.

Q. What’s the hottest selling electronic gizmo this year?
(Myrna – Huntington Beach, CA)
A. Clue: It’s not CB Radios or electronic weegie boards.
